Abstract

The invention relates to a method of optimizing electrical generation in a motor vehicle. The method of managing the current produced in a motor vehicle including an electric machine such as an alternator, is aimed at providing a given mean electric power (Pvec). The machine is controlled so as to deliver a power that varies cyclically between a first power (P1), determined so as to optimize the efficiency of the electric machine and a second power (P2) which is lower than the first power (P1), according to variations such that the mean power corresponds to the given mean power (Pvec). The invention applies in particular to hybrid vehicles.
