Abstract

The invention relates to a controller (11) for an on-board electrical system (3) of a motor vehicle, wherein the on-board electrical system (3) comprises a first on-board electrical sub-system (1) with a first energy store (9), in particular a high-powered battery; a second on-board electrical sub-system (2) with a second energy store (10), in particular a battery; a DC/DC converter (4) which connects the first on-board electrical sub-system (1) to the second on-board electrical sub-system (2); and a generator (5). The controller (11) comprises a first switching device (6) for coupling the generator (5) to the first on-board electrical sub-system. To make the on-board electrical system (3) cheaper to produce, the controller (11) comprises a second switching device (7) for coupling the generator (5) to the second on-board electrical sub-system (2).
