Abstract

L'invention concerne des procédés et une échelle pouvant fournir une indication multidimensionnelle de la douleur mentale d'une personne, qui présentent de nombreux indicateurs de choix indiquant chacun des variations d'une dimension respective de la douleur mentale. Une échelle de mesure de la douleur psychologique comprend plusieurs éléments d'échelle ayant chacun pour objet de mesurer soit l'intensité de la douleur psychologique, soit la qualité de la douleur psychologique. Le procédé de l'invention consiste à: mettre en oeuvre cette échelle; évaluer le niveau de la douleur mentale d'un patient à l'aide de cette échelle; et exploiter le résultat de cette évaluation pour recommander des régimes thérapeutiques pour le patient. Le procédé de l'invention consiste également à: exploiter ce résultat pour évaluer l'efficacité d'un régime thérapeutique donné sur un patient, ou sur un groupe de patients, tel qu'on en trouve dans des essais cliniques. Enfin, le procédé est conçu pour encourager la mise au point de médicaments destinés à traiter la douleur psychologique et d'autres types de douleur.
