Abstract

The invention concerns a device referred to as a station for providing a wheelchair for handicapped persons, installed parallel to a parking space for handicapped persons so as to avoid their being manipulated and facilitate the transport of the person to the chair or electric or conventional wheelchair. The automatic mechanism (2) is controlled by a remote control system (8) reserved for those persons, and the wheelchair providing station enables parking to be regulated since the device is equipped with an obstacle (12) preventing vehicles not transporting handicapped persons from parking in said space. Two operating modes may be used, the first is horizontal, and the second is vertical, and thus acts as an elevator.
