  • the control card (3) while performing the regeneration step, is adapted first to open the water valve (9) to allow the water to pass through the salt reservoir (5) and as it passes to dissolve the salt, providing to fill in the ion exchanger (6) with the salt solution. Then the regeneration valve (9) is closed and the ion exchanger (6) is kept in the salty water for some time.
  • the water valve (8) is opened to wash the ion exchanger (6) with the fresh water intake from the main supply and the wash water is discharged out by the pump (7). If the user cancels the washing program during the regeneration step, while whichever process of opening the regeneration valve (9) or keeping the ion exchanger (6) in the salt solution is carried out, the control card (3) opens the water valve (8) to provide washing of the ion exchanger (6) and discharges the salty water by actuating the pump (7). If the user cancels the washing program during the last step wherein the ion exchanger (6) is washed by opening the water valve (8) the control card (3) provides the intake of sufficient amount of water and discharges the salty water by actuating the pump (7).
  • control card (3) employs the process of washing the ion exchanger (6) when the pump (7) is actuated while the water in the machine is being discharged.
  • the process of washing the ion exchanger (6) is carried out simultaneously with discharge of water after each cancellation of a program, avoiding expenditure of extra time for this process.
