Abstract

A method of forming an exchange traded fund (ETF) can include the steps of identifying an investor investment need, identifying funds that can be combined together to meet the investment goal, combining the identified funds to form a macro portfolio and converting the macro portfolio into an ETF. The step of converting the macro portfolio into an ETF can include one or more of generating a set of securities that, when combined, create a portfolio that tracks the performance of the macro portfolio, and constructing an index that is designed to track the performance of the macro portfolio.
