Abstract

The present invention relates to a laminated film web material (1) , comprising two permanently coupled layers (4, 5) and at least one radio -frequency identification tag (2) interposed between said two coupled layers (4, 5) , wherein at least one marker (3) is provided for each tag (2) , which is located on at least one side of said laminated material (1) to identify the position of the radio-frequency tag (2) with respect to at least one coordinate.

Claims

AMENDED CLAIMS received by the International Bureau on 06 March 2007
1 , A laminated web material (1), comprising two permanently coupled layers (4, 5) and at least one RFTD (2) interposed between said two coupled layers (4, 5), characterized in that at least one marker (3) is provided for each RFID (2), which is printed on at least one side of said laminated material (1) to identify the position of said at least one RFlD (2) witli respect to at least one coordinate and in that said laminated web (1) is not an adhesive tape.
2, A laminated maicrial as claimed in claim 1, wherein said laminated material is a totally laminated material,
3. A laminated material as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said laminated material is a spot laminated material.
4. A laminated material as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein said at least one marker (3) is placed in the proximity of one of the two longitudinal edges of said laminated material (1).
5. A laminated material as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein said two permanently coupled layers (4, 5) are made of paper material.
6, A laminated material as claimed in claim 5, having an overall average basis weight of at least 80 g/m*.
7, A laminated material as claimed in any one of claims I to 6, wherein one of said iwo coupled layers (4 or S) is made of a paper material, whereas the other of said two coupled layers (5 or 4) is made of a polymer materia!.
8. A laminated material as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein said two coupled layers (4, 5) arc both made of polymer material
9, A laminate material as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein one layer (4) is a nonwovon fabric and the other layer (5) is a polyolefm film.
10. A laminated material as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein only two coupled layers (4, 5) are provided, which embed the RFfD devices (2).
11 A process for making a flexible laminated materia! (1) which is not an adhesive tape .including the steps of: a. feeding a first web material (4); b. feeding a second web material (5); c. periodically applying at least one RFTD (2) to one of said two web materials (4 or 5); d. permanently coupling said two webs (4, 5) together to form a laminated material (1) which embeds each RFlD (2) applied to one of said two web materials (4, 5); e. printing at least one marker (3) on at least one side of said laminated material (1), for identifying the position of said at least one previously inserted RFID (2) with respect to at least one coordinate.
12. A process as claimed in claim 1 1 , modified in that said marker (3) js printed on one of said two web materials (4, 5) before insertion of the corresponding RFID (2) and before permanent coupling of the portion of the webs (4, 5) surrounding said corresponding RFID (2),

A process for making a laminated material as claimed in claim 1 1 or 12> characterized in that said two film materials (4, 5) are fed in an intermittent and synchronized manner, such feeding of said first and second film materials (4, 5) being stopped upon application of said at least one RFlD (2) to one of said two web materials (4 or 5).
14. A process for making a laminated material (I) as claimed in claim 1 1 or 12 or 13, wherein said two web materials (4, 5) are paper materials.
15. A process for making a laminated material as claimed in claim 14, wherein each of said two paper web materials (4, 5) has an average basis weight of at least 20 g/m .
16. A process for making a laminated material (1) as claimed in any one of .claims 11 to 15, wherein one of said two web materials (4, 5) is a paper material, and the other (5, 4) is a polymer material.
17. A process for making a laminated material (1) as claimed in any one of claims 12 to 13, wherein said two web materials (4, 5) me both polymer materials,

A system for making a flexible laminated material (1 ) which Is not an adhesive tape comprising at least two permanently coupled layers of film material (4, 5), at least one RFlD (2) and at least one marker (3) for identifying the position of said radio-frequency tag (2), comprising: a. means (10) for feeding a first web material (4); b. means (1 1) for feeding a second web material (5); c. means (12, 16, 18) for applying at least one RFID device (2) to one of said iwo web materials (4 or 5); d. means (14, 15, 28) for permanently coupling together said two film materials (4, 5), thereby embedding the RFID devices (2) previously applied to one of said two web materials (4 or 5); e. means ( 13) for printing at least one marker (3) on at least one side of said flexible laminated material (I)5 to identify the presence and position of each RFID device (2) with respect to at least one coordinate, said means (13) for printing at least one marker (3) being controlled as a function of the operation of said means (12) for applying at least one RFlD device (2) and as a function of the feed rate of said web materials (4, 5).

A system for making a flexible laminated material (1) which is not an adhesive tape comprising at least two permanently coupled layers of film material (4, 5), al least one RFID (2) and at least one marker (3) for identifying the position of said radio-frequency tag (2), comprising: a, means (10) for feeding a first web material (4); b, means ( 1 J ) for feeding a second web material (5); c, means for reading a printed marker on one of said two web materials (4 or 5); d, means (12) for applying at least one RFID device (2) to one of said two web materials (4 or 5), said means (12) for applying at least one RFlD device (2) being controlled as a function of the reading operation of said means for reading a pro-printed marker (3) and as a function of the feed rale of said web materials (4, 5); e, means ( 14, 15) for permanently coupling together said two fi Im materials (45 5), thereby embedding the RFID devices (2) applied to one of said two web materials (4 or 5).

A system as claimed in claim 18 or 19, wherein said means (10) for feeding a first web material (4), said means (11) for feeding a second web material (5) and said means ( ] 2) for applying at least one RFlD device (2) to one of said two web materials (4 or 5), are adapted to operate in. an intermittent and synchronized manner.

Λ process for making a flexible laminated material (1) which is not an adhesive tape with RFlD devices (2) embedded therein, including the steps of: a. feeding a web material (4); b. feeding a plurality of self-adhesive tags (5a), each self-adhesive tag (5a) having a RFID device (2) on the adhesive side of said tag; c. periodically coupling at least one self-adhesive tag (5a) with said web material (4) to form a Spot laminated material (1); d. printing at least one marker (3) on said web material (4) or said at least one tag (Sa)7 for identifying the position of said each RFID (2) with respect to at least one coordinate,

Λ process for making a flexible laminated material (1) which is not an adhesive tape with RFID devices (2) embedded therein, including the steps of; a. feeding a web material (4) having a plurality of pre-printed markers (3); b. feeding a plurality of self-adhesive tags (5a), each self-adhesive tag (5a) including a RFID device (2); c. periodically coupling at least one self-adhesive tag (5a) with said web material (4) for each preprinted marker (3), to form a spot laminated material (I)5 the position of each self-adhesive tag (5a) with respect to at least one of the coordinates of said laminated material (1) being related to the information represented by the corresponding pre-printed marker (3),

A process for making a flexible laminated material (1 ) which is nol an adhesive tape with RFlD devices (2) embedded therein, including the steps of: a. feeding a web material (4); b. feeding a plurality of self-adhesive tags (5a), each self-adhesive tag (5a) including a RFFD device (2) and having at least one prc-prinlcd marker (3); c. periodically coupling at least one self-adhesive tag (Sa) with said web material (4) to form a spot laminated material (1) in which said pre-printed markers (3) arc visible from the outside.
24. A process for making a laminated material (1) as claimed in claim 21 or 22 or 23, wherein said web material (4) is a paper material.
25. A process for making a laminated material (I) as claimed in claim 21 or 22 or 23, wherein said web material is a polymer material.
