Abstract
L'invention concerne un échangeur de chaleur haute température peu coûteux fait d'une pièce métallique découpée, le métal étant ensuite replié sur lui-même en accordéon pour former un monolithe. Les découpages dans la pièce métallique forment des ouvertures qui communiquent avec des faces distinctes du monolithe. Des tuyaux sont fixés aux ouvertures. Des pièces découpées de métal ondulé, qui peuvent comporter un revêtement catalyseur, sont insérées entre des plis du monolithe. L'échangeur de chaleur peut faire partie d'un système de piles à combustible, ou être utilisé dans d'autres applications industrielles pour récupérer la chaleur résiduelle ou mettre en oeuvre diverses réactions catalytiques et non catalytiques. L'invention comprend également un élément, ou unité élémentaire, pour échangeur de chaleur haute température, qui comprend un monolithe de métal replié dans lequel sont insérés des peignes métalliques, le monolithe et les peignes définissant des jonctions hermétiquement étanches.
