Abstract

The present invention relates to a predictive keyword website connecting system and a connecting method using the system. In order to connect to a website a user wants to visit by only inputting a part of a keyword representing the website, a predictive keyword website connecting system in accordance with the present invention is connected to each other through the internet and predicts a website to which a user wants to connect by using at least one of character information transmitted from a user terminal. The system includes a user terminal for running a web browser and transmitting one or more character information inputted by the user to the internet; a database for storing a keyword(s) related to the character information and a website(s) linked with the keyword(s); a service server for searching the stored keyword(s) and the website(s) linked with the keyword(s) from the database based on the character information transmitted from the internet and transmitting the searched result to the user terminal.

METHOD THEREBY
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a predictive keyword website connecting system and a connecting method using the system, and more particularly to a system capable of connecting to a website a user wants to visit only by inputting a part of a keyword representing the website and a method using the system. [2] At present, an internet user has to surf the internet along a specific moving path and, therefore, a great number of website links are required to visit a website.
[3] For example, a user who often purchases a cosmetic in the AUCTION™ (an e- commercial site) searches the AUCTION from a portal site and then moves to the AUCTION™ site. Thereafter, the user selects a cosmetic category in the AUCTION™ and moves to a page corresponding to a search result. Hereinafter, this process will be described with reference to accompanying FIG. 1.

[9] However, such a connecting method has a drawback in that the user has to move to a corresponding site via a lot of paths in order to connect with a website the user wants. [10] Moreover, since a portal site is configured in consideration of a PC environment, there has been also found a drawback in that an embedded system having a wire and wireless communication function such as a PDA, a PSP, a cellular phone, a digital TV and the like can not have an access to the portal site.

[11] Accordingly, the present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems occurring in the prior art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a system and a method capable of connecting to a website a user wants to visit by only inputting a part of a character or a word. [12] Further, it is another object of the present invention to provide a predictive keyword website connecting system and method applicable to a PC as well as a various kinds of embedded systems having wire and wireless communication function. [13] In order to achieve the above mentioned objects, a predictive keyword website connecting system in accordance with one aspect of the present invention is connected to each other through the internet and predicts a website to which a user wants to connect by using at least one of character information transmitted from a user terminal and includes a user terminal for running a web browser having an address window and transmitting one or more character information inputted by the user to the internet; a database for storing a keyword(s) related to the character information and a website(s) linked with the keyword(s); a service server for searching the stored keyword(s) and the website(s) linked with the keyword(s) from the database based on the character information transmitted from the internet and transmitting the searched result to the user terminal.
[14] At least one of the user terminal and the service server includes: a module unit containing: a program download module for providing a program showing the keyword(s) on a lower part of the address window; a service supply module for transmitting the keyword(s) searched based on the character information and the website(s) linked with the keyword(s) to the web browser; a data collection module for collecting the character information, the keyword(s) selected by the user terminal and the website(s) liked with the keyword(s); and a data update module for updating the stored keyword(s) related to the character information and the website(s) linked with the keyword(s) in the database.
[15] It is preferable that the module unit further contains a combination module for determining a priority of a plurality of keywords when the plurality of keywords have to be shown on the lower part of the address window.
[16] Further, it is desirable that the database includes: a member DB for storing a user account, a password and personal information; a program DB for storing a program provided by the program download module; a public DB for storing character information, keywords related to the character information and websites linked with the keywords; and a connection result DB for storing information updated by the data update module.
[17] Furthermore, it is preferable that the user terminal includes: a client program storage area for storing a program provided by the program download module; and a website address information storage area for storing keywords to which the user terminal practically connects and websites linked with the keywords among keywords presented based on character information the user terminal uploads and websites linked with the keywords.
[18] In order to achieve the above mentioned objects, a predictive keyword website connecting method in accordance with another aspect of the present invention includes the steps of: (1) receiving character information inputted in an address window; (2) searching keywords corresponding to the received character information and websites linked with the keywords from a database; and (3) arranging the searched keywords and transmitting the arranged keywords to a user terminal.
[19] Herein, it is desired that the step (2) includes the steps of: (2-1) checking whether there are searched keywords corresponding to the inputted character information; and (2-2) if keywords are not searched in the step (2-1), returning to the step (1) to receive additional character information.
[20] Moreover, it is preferable that the step (2-1) contains the steps of: (2-1-1) checking whether a search result is to be received from an external module unit; and (2-1-2) if it is determined that the search result is to be received from the external module unit, receiving keywords searched by the external module unit.
[21] In addition, it is desired that the step (3) includes the steps of: (3-1) checking whether there are collected character information in the step (1), keywords selected by the user terminal and website information linked with the keywords in a data collection module; and (3-2) if there are collected information in the step (3-1), arranging the keywords collected by the data collection module and the website information linked with the keywords on an uppermost portion of a lower part of the address window.
[22] Further, it is desired that the step (3) includes the steps of: (3-3) checking whether there is a website supply server contracting the service server for an advertisement out of the websites linked with the searched keywords; and (3-4) if there is a website supply server contracting the service server for an advertisement in the step (3-3), arranging a keyword linked with a website of the website supply server on the uppermost portion of the lower part of the address window.
[23] Furthermore, it is preferable that the predictive keyword website connecting method in accordance with another aspect of the present invention further includes the steps of: (4) receiving keyword information selected by the user terminal; and (5) storing the information received in the step (4).
[24] Herein, it is preferable that step (4) determines that a keyword located on an uppermost portion of a lower part of the address window is selected if an execution key or an input key of an input unit of the user terminal is pressed, to receive the keyword information placed on the uppermost portion of the lower part of the address window. Advantageous Effects
[25] In order to achieve the above mentioned objects, a predictive keyword website connecting system in accordance with one aspect of the present invention is connected to each other through the internet and predicts a website to which a user wants to connect by using at least one of character information transmitted from a user terminal and includes a user terminal for running a web browser having an address window and transmitting one or more character information inputted by the user to the internet; a database for storing a keyword(s) related to the character information and a website(s) linked with the keyword(s); a service server for searching the stored keyword(s) and the website(s) linked with the keyword(s) from the database based on the character information transmitted from the internet and transmitting the searched result to the user terminal.
[26] At least one of the user terminal and the service server includes: a module unit containing: a program download module for providing a program showing the keyword(s) on a lower part of the address window; a service supply module for transmitting the keyword(s) searched based on the character information and the website(s) linked with the keyword(s) to the web browser; a data collection module for collecting the character information, the keyword(s) selected by the user terminal and the website(s) liked with the keyword(s); and a data update module for updating the stored keyword(s) related to the character information and the website(s) linked with the keyword(s) in the database.
[27] It is preferable that the module unit further contains a combination module for determining a priority of a plurality of keywords when the plurality of keywords have to be shown on the lower part of the address window.
[28] Further, it is desirable that the database includes: a member DB for storing a user account, a password and personal information; a program DB for storing a program provided by the program download module; a public DB for storing character information, keywords related to the character information and websites linked with the keywords; and a connection result DB for storing information updated by the data update module.
[29] Furthermore, it is preferable that the user terminal includes: a client program storage area for storing a program provided by the program download module; and a website address information storage area for storing keywords to which the user terminal practically connects and websites linked with the keywords among keywords presented based on character information the user terminal uploads and websites linked with the keywords.
[30] In order to achieve the above mentioned objects, a predictive keyword website connecting method in accordance with another aspect of the present invention includes the steps of: (1) receiving character information inputted in an address window; (2) searching keywords corresponding to the received character information and websites linked with the keywords from a database; and (3) arranging the searched keywords and transmitting the arranged keywords to a user terminal.
[31] Herein, it is desired that the step (2) includes the steps of: (2-1) checking whether there are searched keywords corresponding to the inputted character information; and (2-2) if keywords are not searched in the step (2-1), returning to the step (1) to receive additional character information.
[32] Moreover, it is preferable that the step (2-1) contains the steps of: (2-1-1) checking whether a search result is to be received from an external module unit; and (2-1-2) if it is determined that the search result is to be received from the external module unit, receiving keywords searched by the external module unit.
[33] In addition, it is desired that the step (3) includes the steps of: (3-1) checking whether there are collected character information in the step (1), keywords selected by the user terminal and website information linked with the keywords in a data collection module; and (3-2) if there are collected information in the step (3-1), arranging the keywords collected by the data collection module and the website information linked with the keywords on an uppermost portion of a lower part of the address window.
[34] Further, it is desired that the step (3) includes the steps of: (3-3) checking whether there is a website supply server contracting the service server for an advertisement out of the websites linked with the searched keywords; and (3-4) if there is a website supply server contracting the service server for an advertisement in the step (3-3), arranging a keyword linked with a website of the website supply server on the uppermost portion of the lower part of the address window.
[35] Furthermore, it is preferable that the predictive keyword website connecting method in accordance with another aspect of the present invention further includes the steps of: (4) receiving keyword information selected by the user terminal; and (5) storing the information received in the step (4).
[36] Herein, it is preferable that step (4) determines that a keyword located on an uppermost portion of a lower part of the address window is selected if an execution key or an input key of an input unit of the user terminal is pressed, to receive the keyword information placed on the uppermost portion of the lower part of the address window.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention [45] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. [46] WEBSITE CONNECTING SYSTEM
[47] In the following, a website connecting system in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention will be explained with reference to FIG. 2. [48] FIG. 2 is a block diagram of the website connecting system in accordance with the embodiment of the present invention. [49] As shown in FIG. 2, the predictive keyword website connecting system 100
(hereinafter, simply referred to as a connecting system) includes user terminals 110 and 111 connected to each other through the internet 190, a service server 150, a database 170 and website supply servers 180 and 181. [50] The user terminals 110 and 111 run web browsers each having an address window and transmit one or more character information inputted by a user to the internet 190.
The user terminal 110 or 111 may be a computer, a cellular phone, a PDA (Personal
Digital Assistants), a PSP (Play Station Portable), a PS(Play Station), an XBOX, a digital TV and the like having a wire and wireless communication function. [51] The database stores a keyword(s) related to the character information and a website(s) linked with the keyword(s). [52] The service server 150 receives the character information from the internet 190 and then searches keywords and websites linked with the keywords from the database 170 based on the character information. The service server 150 may be connected to the database 170 through the internet 190 or the service server 150 may include the database 170 therein. [53] Herein, at least one of the user terminals 110 and 111 and the service server 150 includes a module unit containing a program download module 122, a data collection module 123, a service supply module 124, a data update module 125 and a combination module 126 in a processing unit. [54] The program download module 122 provides a program for showing keywords on a lower part of the address window. [55] The service supply module 124 transmits keywords searched based on the character information and website information linked with the keywords to the web browser. [56] The data collection module 123 collects character information, keywords selected by the user terminals 110 and 111 and website information liked with the keywords. [57] The data update module 125 updates keywords related to character information and website information linked with the keywords in the database 170 based on information collected by the data collection module 123. [65] Hereinafter, the user terminal in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGs. 3 and 4. [66] FIG. 3 is a block diagram showing one example of the user terminal in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention and FIG. 4 is a block diagram showing another example of the user terminal in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. [67] As shown in FIG. 3, the user terminals 110 and 111 in accordance with the embodiment of the present invention include hardware components of a general PC or an embedded system having a wire or wireless communication function. [68] An input unit 112 provides means for inputting an instruction of a user. A keyboard, a keypad and the like may be employed as the input unit 112. [69] A display unit 114 displays operating states of the user terminals 110 and 111. A
CRT, an LCD monitor and the like may be employed as the display unit 114. [70] A communication unit 116 provides a communication path between the internet and the user terminals 110 and 111. The communication unit 116 may include a wire and wireless LAN card and the like. [71] A processing unit 120 controls operations of components of the user terminals 110 and 111. A CPU (Central Processing Unit) can be used as the processing unit 120. [72] A storage unit 130 stores data according to an instruction of the processing unit 120.
The storage unit 130 may be an HDD (Hard Disk Drive), a non- volatile memory card and the like. The storage unit 130 includes a client program storage area 131 and a website address information storage area 133. [73] The client program storage area 131 stores a program provided by the program download module 122. [74] The website address information storage area 133 stores keywords to which the user terminals 110 and 111 practically connect and websites linked with the keywords among keywords presented based on character information the user terminals 110 and
111 upload and websites linked with the keywords. [75] On the other hand, it will be appreciated that a configuration of the processing unit
120 of the user terminal 110 is different from a configuration of the processing unit
121 of the user terminal 111. That is, the user terminal 110 does not include a module unit while the user terminal 111 includes the module unit.
[76] In detail, the module unit includes the program download module 122 for providing a program showing keywords on a lower part of the address window; the service supply module 124 for transmitting keywords searched based on character information and website information linked with the keywords to the web browser; the data collection module 123 for collecting keywords selected by the user terminals 110 and 111 and website information liked with the keywords; the data update module 125 for updating keywords related to character information and website information linked with the keywords in the database; the combination module 126 for determining a priority of a plurality of keywords.
[77] If at least one of the user terminals 110 and 111 and the service server 150 includes the module unit, the predictive keyword website connection can be carried out.
[78] However, if both the user terminal 111 and the service server 150 include the module unit, it is advantageous in that an accumulated quantity of data will be increased and, therefore, a keyword prediction can be performed more efficiently.
[79] SERVICE SERVER
[80] Hereinafter, the service server in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. 5. [81] FIG. 5 is a block diagram of the service server in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.
[82] As shown in FIG. 5, the service server 150 in accordance with the embodiment of the present invention may include a module unit consisting of a program download module 152, a data collection module 153, a service supply module 154, a data update module 155 and a combination module 156 in a processing unit 151.
[83] Each module of the module unit performs a function analogous to each module of the module unit included in the processing unit 121 of the user terminal 111, and thus their description will be omitted.
[84] WEBSITE CONNECTING METHOD
[85] Hereinafter, a predictive keyword website connecting method in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. 6.
[86] FIG. 5 is a flow chart of the predictive keyword website connecting method in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.
[87] As shown in FIG. 6, the predictive keyword website connecting method
(hereinafter, simply referred to as a connecting method) in accordance with the embodiment of the present invention achieves a connection through the use of the module unit of the user terminal 111 or the service server 150 of the system 100 including: the user terminals 110 and 111, connected to each other through the internet 190, for running web browsers each having an address window and transmitting one or more character information inputted by a user to the internet 190; the database 170 for storing keywords related to the character information and websites linked with the keywords; and the service server 150 for downloading the character information from the internet 190 and then searching keywords and websites linked with the keywords from the database 170 based on the downloaded character information.
[88] The connecting method in accordance with the embodiment of the present invention receives character information inputted in the address window at a first step (SlOO).
[89] At a second step, keywords corresponding to the received character information and websites linked with the keywords are searched from the database 170 (Sl 10).
[90] At a third step, it is checked whether there are searched keywords corresponding to the received character information (S 120). For example, if the received character information is only a Korean consonant "D", searching range is very wide, and, therefore, a keyword search is not efficient. Accordingly, the character information has to be inputted until the keyword search becomes efficient (e.g., until one or more syllable of the Korean alphabet, Hangul, is received) through the third step. If the character information has been received until the keyword search becomes efficient, the following fourth step will be carried out, and if otherwise, the first step (SlOO) will be repeated.
[91] At a fourth step, it is investigated whether a search result has to be received from an external module unit (S 130). Since an accumulated data quantity of keywords searchable from two module units is greater than that searchable from one module unit, an accuracy of a keyword search can be increased through the fourth step. If it is determined that a search result has to be received from the external module unit at the fourth step, the received character information is transmitted to the external module unit to receive keywords searched by the external module unit and, if otherwise, the following fifth step is performed.
[92] At a fifth step, searched keywords are arranged and transmitted to the user terminals
110 and 111. The transmitted keywords are displayed on the lower part of the address windows of the user terminals 110 and 111. A user selects a keyword to which the user wants to connect by using the input unit 112 of the user terminals 110 or 111.
[93] When a keyword to which the user wants to connect is located on an uppermost portion of the lower part of the address window, it is desired to allow the user to connect to a website by only pressing an execution key or an input key of the input unit 112. Such a procedure is shown in FIGs. 7 and 8.
[94] Therefore, the fifth step is important because the arranging operation can increase a user convenience. It is preferable that the arranging operation includes the following two operations.
[95] (1) If there are collected character information, keywords selected by the user terminals and website information liked with the keywords in the data collection module, the keywords according to this information are arranged on the uppermost portion of the lower part of the address window.
[96] That is, when there is an example of a keyword searched based on the character information and then selected by a user terminal, there's a high possibility that a user terminal selects the same keyword again. Accordingly, if the keyword is placed on the uppermost portion of the lower part of the address window, a prediction accuracy and a user convenience are increased.
[97] (2) If there is a keyword linked with a website of the website supply server 181 contracting the service server for an advertisement, this keyword is disposed on the uppermost portion of the lower part of the address window.
[98] If the keyword linked with a website having an advertisement contract is arranged on the uppermost portion of the lower part of the address window, there may be a growing tendency that the website supply servers 180 and 181 make an advertisement contract with the service server 150 to increase a connection frequency. Therefore, the service server 150 can accumulate information of a large number of websites through advertisement contracts and a connection frequency of the website supply server is also increased, thereby providing advantages to both sides.
[99] However, since the object of the present invention is to provide a method for fa- cilitating an access to a website which a user wants to connect with, there's no need to dispose a keyword linked with a website having an advertisement contract on the uppermost portion of the lower part of the address window in disregard of the arrangement according to the above-mentioned item (1) even if the website has the advertisement contract.
[100] That is, it is preferable to displace a keyword linked with a website having an advertisement contract on a higher portion of the lower part of the address window than that of a keyword linked with a website not having an advertisement contract according to a predetermined advantage. [101] A preferred embodiment of the present invention has been described with reference to the accompanying drawings. However, it is intended that the present invention not be limited to the particular embodiment and those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention.

Claims
[1] A predictive keyword website connecting system, connected to each other through the internet, for predicting a website to which a user wants to connect by using at least one of character information transmitted from a user terminal, comprising: a user terminal for running a web browser having an address window and transmitting one or more character information inputted by the user to the internet; a database for storing a keyword(s) related to the character information and a website(s) linked with the keyword(s); a service server for searching the stored keyword(s) and the website(s) linked with the keyword(s) from the database based on the character information transmitted from the internet and transmitting the searched result to the user terminal.
[2] The predictive keyword website connecting system of claim 1, wherein at least one of the user terminal and the service server includes: a module unit containing: a program download module for providing a program showing the keyword(s) on a lower part of the address window; a service supply module for transmitting the keyword(s) searched based on the character information and the website(s) linked with the keyword(s) to the web browser; a data collection module for collecting the character information, the keyword(s) selected by the user terminal and the website(s) liked with the keyword(s); and a data update module for updating the stored keyword(s) related to the character information and the website(s) linked with the keyword(s) in the database.
[3] The predictive keyword website connecting system of claim 1, wherein the character information includes at least one of a morpheme, a consonant, a formant, a vowel and a numeral.
[4] The predictive keyword website connecting system of claim 2, wherein the module unit further contains a combination module for determining a priority of a plurality of keywords when the plurality of keywords have to be shown on the lower part of the address window.
[5] The predictive keyword website connecting system of claim 1, wherein the database includes: a member DB for storing a user account, a password and personal information; a program DB for storing a program provided by the program download module; a public DB for storing character information, keywords related to the character information and websites linked with the keywords; and a connection result DB for storing information updated by the data update module.
[6] The predictive keyword website connecting system of claim 1, wherein the user terminal includes: a client program storage area for storing a program provided by the program download module; and a website address information storage area for storing keywords to which the user terminal practically connects and websites linked with the keywords among keywords presented based on character information the user terminal uploads and websites linked with the keywords.
[7] A predictive keyword website connecting terminal for transmitting at least one of character information inputted by an input unit to the outside and receiving keywords related to the character information, comprising: an input unit for inputting an instruction of a user; a display unit for displaying operating states of the terminal; a communication unit for providing a communication path connected to the outside; and a processing unit for transmitting the character information inputted by the input unit to the outside through the use of the communication unit and receiving keywords related to the character information and websites linked with the keywords from the outside and arranging the keywords on a lower part of an address window of the display unit and, if a keyword among the keywords arranged on the lower part of the address window is selected by the input unit, connecting to a website linked with the selected keyword through the communication unit.
[8] The predictive keyword website connecting terminal of claim 7, wherein the processing unit determines that a keyword located on an uppermost portion of the lower part of the address window of the display unit is selected if an execution key or an input key of the input unit is pressed while the keywords are arranged on the lower part of the address window.
[9] A predictive keyword website connecting terminal for searching keywords related to at least one of character information inputted by an input unit, comprising: an input unit for inputting an instruction of a user; a display unit for displaying operating states of the terminal; a communication unit for providing a communication path connected to the outside; a storage unit for storing character information, keywords related to character information and websites linked with the keywords; and a processing unit for searching keywords related to the character information and websites linked with the keywords from the storage unit based on the character information inputted by the input unit and arranging the keywords on a lower part of an address window of the display unit and, if a keyword among the keywords arranged on the lower part of the address window is selected by the input unit, connecting to a website linked with the selected keyword through the communication unit.
[10] The predictive keyword website connecting terminal of claim 9, wherein the processing unit determines that a keyword located on an uppermost portion of the lower part of the address window of the display unit is selected if an execution key or an input key of the input unit is pressed while the keywords are arranged on the lower part of the address window.
[11] A predictive keyword website service server for searching keywords related to at least one of character information received through a communication unit, comprising: a communication unit for providing a communication path connected to the outside; a storage unit for storing character information, keywords related to character information and websites linked with the keywords; and a processing unit for searching keywords related to the character information and websites linked with the keywords from the storage unit based on the character information received through the communication unit and transmitting the searched result to the outside through the use of the communication unit.
[12] A predictive keyword website connecting method by using a module unit of a user terminal or a service server, comprising the steps of:
(1) receiving character information inputted in an address window;
(2) searching keywords corresponding to the received character information and websites linked with the keywords from a database; and
(3) arranging the searched keywords and transmitting the arranged keywords to a user terminal.
[13] The predictive keyword website connecting method of claim 12, wherein the step
(2) includes the steps of:
(2-1) checking whether there are searched keywords corresponding to the inputted character information; and (2-2) if keywords are not searched in the step (2-1), returning to the step (1) to receive additional character information.
[14] The predictive keyword website connecting method of claim 13, wherein the step
(2-1) contains the steps of:
(2-1-1) checking whether a search result has to be received from an external module unit; and
(2-1-2) if it is determined that the search result has to be received from the external module unit, receiving keywords searched by the external module unit.
[15] The predictive keyword website connecting method of claim 12, wherein the step
(3) includes the steps of:
(3-1) checking whether there are collected character information in the step (1), keywords selected by the user terminal and website information linked with the keywords in a data collection module; and
(3-2) if there are collected information in the step (3-1), arranging the keywords collected by the data collection module and the website information linked with the keywords on an uppermost portion of a lower part of the address window.
[16] The predictive keyword website connecting method of claim 15, wherein the step
(3) includes the steps of:
(3-3) checking whether there is a website supply server contracting the service server for an advertisement out of the websites linked with the searched keywords; and
(3-4) if there is a website supply server contracting the service server for an advertisement in the step (3-3), arranging a keyword linked with a website of the website supply server on the uppermost portion of the lower part of the address window.
[17] The predictive keyword website connecting method of claim 12, further comprising the steps of:
(4) receiving keyword information selected by the user terminal; and
(5) storing the information received in the step (4).
[18] The predictive keyword website connecting method of claim 17, wherein the step
(4) determines that a keyword located on an uppermost portion of a lower part of the address window is selected if an execution key or an input key of an input unit of the user terminal is pressed, to receive the keyword information placed on the uppermost portion of the lower part of the address window. 1/7
