Description

[DESCRIPTION]
[invention Title]
REMOVAL DEVICE A SURFACE INDICATION
[Technical Field] The present invention relates, in general, to a device for removing a road indication and, more particularly, to a road-indication removal device, which is capable of rapidly and efficiently removing various kinds of road indications that are painted on a road, and automatically collecting removed waste, thus improving the working environment and increasing working efficiency.
[Background Art]
Generally, various road indications, including traffic lane markers, various road lines, pedestrian crossings, letters, and directional signs, are painted on a road paved with asphalt or concrete. When it is required to alter the road indications painted on the road so as to change road lines or add new road lines, existing road indications must be frequently removed. Conventionally, in order to remove indications from a road, a method of using a vehicle equipped with a removal tool, such as grind stone or a cutter blade, is used to grind or cut the paint used to make road indications. However, while the paint used for the road indications is being ground, part of the road may be damaged, and in addition, the dust of paint or the dust of grind stone, made from chemicals, are scattered in the atmosphere, thus causing air pollution. Further, not all of the paint used for the road indications is removed from the road surface; some remains on the road surface.
According to another conventional removal method, heat is directly applied to road indications manually using LPG, thus burning the road indications. However, this method is problematic in that ignited gas is exposed to the outside and burns the road indications, so that heat loss is large, the working period is long, and the consumption of energy is high. Further, harmful gas and dust produced by the burning operation result in environmental pollution, injury to workers, and negative effects on the workers' health. Moreover, the harmful gas and dust affect passersby. Further, the method of grinding or cutting road indications using the removal tool, such as the grind stone or the cutter blade, or the method of burning road indications using LPG are problematic in that the residue of ground paint, and the ash or dust of burnt paint must be cleaned through an additional post-process, thus it is complicated to remove road indications and the work period is increased due to duplicated work, and thus traffic congestion results.

In this case, the term "road indications" means all lines, letters, and pictures marked on a road, such as a traffic lane marker, various road lines including a central line, a pedestrian crossing, letters, and directional signs including arrows.
As shown in the drawings, the road-indication removal device according to the present invention includes a housing 100 which is opened at a lower portion thereof to cover a road indication. A first partition wall 110 is provided on one side in first space 300 of the housing 100, thus defining second space 200. A second partition wall 120 is provided on the opposite side in the first space, thus defining third space 400. A combustion means 210 is provided in the second space 200, and primarily burns the road indication so as to smoothly remove the road indication. A spray means 310 is provided in the first space 300, and secondarily destroys residue adhering to a road after the road indication has been burnt by the combustion means 210. Further, a suction means 410 is provided in the third space 400, and, in a third step, vacuum-draws the road-indication waste removed from the road by the spray means 310.
The spray means 310, provided in the first space 300, has at least one through hole 320 which is formed in an inner wall of the first space 300 to pass outwards . A branch tube is inserted into the through hole 320 to be coupled to a storage tank 340 in which particles are stored. An air hose 360 is provided on a side of the branch tube 330, and is coupled to an air compressor 350 which discharges compressed air.
In this case, the storage tank 340 and the air compressor 350 are provided in a vehicle. The branch tube 330 coupled to the storage tank 340 and the air hose 360 coupled to the air compressor 350 have length which is determined according to the moving distance of the housing when the housing 100 moves in a horizontal direction or moves up and down.
In the spray means 310 constructed as described above, compressed air having high pressure is sprayed at a position around the branch tube 330 onto the particles discharged from the storage tank 340 through the branch tube 310 into the first space 300. Thus, the compressed air is sprayed along with the particles at a high pressure, thus destroying the road indication.
According to the size of the first space 300 and the spray area, a plurality of branch tubes 330 may be provided. The air hose 360 coupled to the air compressor 350 is provided on each of the branch tubes 330. Further, the term "particles" means any small particles that can destroy road indications, such as steel balls, sand, or metal particles.
The combustion means 210 provided in the second space 200 forms a path on the inner wall of the second space 200 to communicate with an exterior. The path includes an inlet passage 220 which is bored from the outer portion of the second space 200 to the inner portion thereof, and a plurality of branch passages 221 which are branched from an end of the inlet passage 220 and communicate with the interior of the second space 200 at regular intervals. A passage 222 is formed in a lower portion of the inner wall of the second space 200 to collect harmful gas. Further, an exhaust hole 223 is coupled to the passage 222, and discharges the harmful gas to the outside. In this case, a heating means is provided in the inlet passage 220 and the branch passages 221 to burn the road indication a.
The heating means is LPG. A gas tank 230 is provided on an inlet of the inlet passage 220, and stores combustion gas therein to burn the road indication. The gas tank 230 is additionally mounted to the vehicle, and is coupled to the inlet of the inlet passage 220 via a coupling tube 231. A valve 232 is provided on the coupling tube 231 to control the supply of gas .
A gas nozzle 234 is mounted to the outlet of each branch passage 221 to face the opening of the second space 200. An igniter 235 is provided on the inner wall of the second space 200, so that combustion gas sprayed from each gas nozzle 234 is ignited by the igniter 235 in the second space 210, and thus the road indication is burnt .
Meanwhile, a purifying means 240 is coupled to the exhaust hole 223 which discharges harmful gas, produced when the road indication is burnt by the heating means, to the outside, and removes the harmful gas.
A suction fan 260 is provided on a coupling tube 250 which couples the exhaust hole 223 to the purifying means 240, and forcibly draws the harmful gas. In this case, the purifying means 240 includes a housing 242 having a reservoir 241 which contains water therein. The coupling tube 250 having the suction fan 260 is coupled to the lower portion of the housing 242. An outlet port 270 is provided on the upper portion of the housing 242. Inclined plates 243 each having a triangular cross section are supported by both side surfaces in the reservoir 241 of the housing 242 to be arranged in a zigzag fashion. Thereby, air particles slowly move upwards along lower surfaces of the inclined plates 243, thus increasing the distance over which they are in contact with water particles, therefore removing more harmful gas .
The water is supplied to a level corresponding to about 80% of the capacity of the reservoir 241, so that an air layer is formed in the upper portion of the reservoir. The air layer, having no harmful gas therein, is discharged through the outlet port 270.
Meanwhile, in order to ensure safety, the gas tank 230 and the purifying means 240 are provided in the vehicle. Thus, it is preferable that the coupling tube 231 coupling the path of the housing 100 to the gas tank 230 and the coupling tube 250 coupling the exhaust hole 223 to the purifying means 240 comprise rubber hose, the length of which is determined according to the moving distance of the housing when the housing 100 moves horizontally or moves up and down.
The suction means 410 provided in the third space 400 has a through hole 420 which is formed in the inner wall of the third space 400 to pass outwards. A suction tube 430 having a suction pump 440 is provided in the through hole 420. A waste collecting box 450 is provided on one end of the suction tube 430 to collect waste therein . The suction pump 440 and the waste collecting box 450 are also provided in the vehicle. Preferably, the suction tube 430 has a length which is determined according to the moving distance of the housing when the housing 100 moves horizontally or moves up and down. The suction means 410 constructed as described above vacuum-draws the residue, ash, dust, and particles of the road indication, which is destroyed by the spray means 310 in the first space 300, using the suction pump 440 into the suction tube 430, prior to automatically collecting the residue, ash, dust, and particles of the road indication in the waste collecting box 450.
A coupling tube 460 extends from one side of the waste collecting box 450, and is coupled to the purifying means 240 provided in the combustion means 210 so as to purify dust which is produced when the waste is drawn .
Further, when the particles of the spray means 310 may be separated by a magnetic material, like steel balls or metal particles, a separation means 470 is provided in the waste collecting box 450. Thereby, the particles separated from the waste are fed into the storage tank 340 again, so that the particles can be reused.
In order to separate the waste and the steel balls from each other, a separation plate 451 is vertically provided in the center of the waste collecting box 450, thus partitioning the water collecting box into a waste holding part 452 and a steel-ball holding part 453.
A discharge tube 454 is provided on one side of the steel-ball holding part 453 and is coupled to the storage tank. A discharge door 456 is provided on one side of the lower end of the waste holding part 452 to discharge the waste.
Preferably, the separation plate 451 comprises an inclined surface 451 which is coupled at the bottom thereof to the discharge tube 454 so as to automatically feed the steel balls held in the steel-ball holding part 453 into the storage tank 340. A position sensor 455 is provided at a predetermined position on the upper end in the waste collecting box 450, and detects the position of the separation means 470, thus automatically controlling the supply of power to the magnetic material .
The separation means 470 includes a guide groove 471 which is formed on the upper end in the waste collecting box 450, and a frame 473 having a guide protrusion 472 which slides along the guide groove 471. The frame 473 is made of a material that does not conduct magnetic force, such as synthetic resin or aluminum. An electromagnet 474 is provided on the lower portion of the frame 473, and generates magnetic force when power is applied to the electromagnet. A rack 475 is provided on the upper surface of the frame 473, and a pinion 476 is provided above the rack to engage with the rack 475 and is rotated by a motor 477.
As shown in FIG. 4, when the separation means 470 constructed as described above is located at the inlet of the waste collecting box 450, the position of the separation means 470 is detected by the position sensor 455. Power is supplied to the electromagnet 474 such that it is magnetized. At this time, among the material fed into the waste collecting box 450, the waste drops to the waste holding part 452, while the steel balls or metal particles are attached to the electromagnet 474, so that the steel balls or metal particles dare separated from the waste. When the rack 475 engaging with the pinion 476 of a drive shaft is moved by the rotation of the drive motor 477, so that the separation means 470 to which the steel balls or metal material is attached is moved above the steel-ball holding part 453, the supply of power to the electromagnet 474 is cut off in response to a signal from the position sensor 455. Thereby, the steel balls fall into the steel-ball holding part 453 and move along the inclined surface of the separation plate 451 to the storage tank 340.
As such, the housing 100 which has the separation means 310 in the first space 300, the combustion means 210 in the second space 200, and the suction means 410 in the third space 400 is moved in a predetermined direction and elevated by a feeding means 500.
The feeding means 500 is provided with a horizontal moving means for feeding the housing in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and an elevating means for elevating the housing. As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the horizontal moving means has a rack 510 on a surface of the vehicle. A guide groove 543 is formed on the back surface of the rack 510, so that a support bar 540 is slidably provided in the guide groove 543. A through hole 541 in which a bearing 542 is mounted is formed in the support bar 540 such that a drive shaft 531 of a motor 530 is rotatably inserted into the through hole. A pinion 520 is provided on the drive shaft 531 of the motor 530 inserted into the through hole 541, and movably engages with the rack 510.
A frame 550 is provided on one end of the support bar 540 to be parallel to the longitudinal direction of the housing 100. The elevating means are provided on both side ends of the frame 550. One end of each elevating means is secured to the frame, and the other end of the elevating means has a hydraulic cylinder 560 which is vertically mounted to the housing. A shock absorbing spring 580 is provided between the hydraulic cylinder 560 and the housing 100, thus remaining level even when the road surface is uneven or inclined.
The horizontal movement of the feeding means 500 is conducted as follows. That is, while the pinion 520, engaging with the rack 510 mounted to the surface of the vehicle body, is rotated by the drive motor 530, the support bar 540, which slides along the guide groove 543 formed on the back surface, of the rack, moves horizontally. At this time, because the horizontal frame 550 to which the housing 100 and the elevating means are coupled is secured to the support bar 540, the housing 100 is moved horizontally by the movement of the support bar 540.
In this case, the length of the rack 510 provided in the housing 100 is determined so as to be able to accommodate one process of removing the road indication, that is, the second space 200 where the combustion process is performed, the first space 300 where the spray process is performed, and the third space 400 where the suction process is performed. The pinion 520 is rotated by the motor such that the first space 300 is located at the second space 200, when the combustion step has been completed in the second space 200. Further, when the spray step has been completed in the first space 300, the pinion is rotated by the motor such that the third space 400 is located at the first space 300.
A position sensor 590 is provided on an end of the rack 510. Thus, when the pinion 520, moving horizontally, reaches the rear end of the rack 510 and one removal process has been completed, the housing is elevated by the elevating means, and the motor 530 is rotated in a reverse direction, so that the pinion 520 is movable to the front end of the rack 510.
The elevating operation of the elevation means is performed as follows. That is, when pressurized operating oil is supplied from a hydraulic supply unit to the hydraulic cylinders secured to the horizontal frame, a rod 570 of each hydraulic cylinder 560 protrudes, and the housing moves downwards to contact the ground surface. When the vehicle is moved, the supply of the operating oil to each hydraulic cylinder 560 is stopped, so that the rod 570 is contracted to its minimum length, and thereby the housing is spaced apart from the ground surface by a predetermined distance. Thus, such a construction does not hinder the change of position or the movement of the vehicle.
The above-mentioned feeding means is only one embodiment . Any means may be used as the feeding means , as long as the means can move the housing in a horizontal direction and elevates the housing.
Meanwhile, a sealing member 600 is provided along the circumference of the bottom of the housing 100, and prevents harmful gas, produced when the road indication is burnt, and sprayed particles from being discharged to the outside. Thereby, the capacity for drawing waste is excellent .
Further, a control switch (not shown) for controlling the combustion means, the spray means, and the suction means is provided at a predetermined position by a driver's seat, so that the driver can control each means according to the conditions of the road.
The operation of the road-indication removal device constructed as described above will be described below.
The steel balls are used as the particles.
First, when pressurized operating oil is supplied from the hydraulic supply unit (not shown) , the rod 570 of each hydraulic cylinder 560 protrudes and the housing 100 moves downwards, thus reaching the road indication of the road. The combustion means 210 in the second space of the housing landing at the road indication ignites the gas sprayed from the gas tank though the nozzle into the space, and heats the road indication on the portion of the road surface accommodated in the second space 210, thus burning the paint used for the road indication.
At this time, harmful gases produced while the road indication is burnt are drawn into the exhaust hole 223 by the suction force of the suction fan 260, and pass through the purifying means 240. Thereby, only clean air, but no harmful gas, is discharged to the outside.
As such, when the combustion process has been completed in the second space 200, the motor 530 of the feeding means 500 is driven, so that the pinion 520 moves horizontally while being engaged with the rack 510. Thereby, the first space 300 is located at the position of the second space 200 of the housing. The spray means in the first space sprays the steel balls on the road indication which is primarily burnt, so that the road indication is destroyed and removed from the road surface .
When the spray process of destroying the road indication using the spray means 310 of the first space 300 has been completed, the motor 530 is driven, so that the pinion 520 is moved horizontally while engaging with the rack 510. Thereby, the third space 400 is located at the position of the first space 300 of the housing 100. Particles sprayed onto the bottom under high pressure and waste, such as paint residue and dust, are vacuum- drawn and are automatically collected through the suction tube 430 into the waste collecting box 450.
The waste drawn through the suction tube 430 into the waste collecting box drops to the waste holding part 452, and the steel balls are attached to the electromagnet 474 of the separation means to separate them from the waste. The separation means 470 to which the steel balls are attached moves above the steel-ball holding part 453 by the movement of the rack 475 engaging with the pinion 476 of the drive shaft when the drive motor 477 is rotated. At this time, the position sensor 455 detects the position of the separation means, and the supply of power to the electromagnet 474 is stopped. Thereby, the steel balls drop to the steel-ball holding part 453 and move along the inclined surface of the separation plate 451 to the storage tank 340. The steel balls stored in the storage tank can be reused.
As such, when the road-indication removal process has been completed, the pinion 520 is located at the rear end of the rack 510, and the position of the pinion is detected by the position sensor 590, thus the housing 100 is elevated. The motor is rotated in a reverse direction, so that the pinion 520 moves to the front end of the rack 510. Further, the vehicle is moved to a subsequent position, and burns a road indication. In this way, the road-indication removal process is repeated.
Although the preferred embodiment of the present invention has been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims . [industrial Applicability]
As described above, the present invention provides a road-indication removal device, which is capable of rapidly and efficiently removing various kinds of road indications that are painted on a road, and automatically collecting removed waste, thus improving the working environment and increasing working efficiency.
