Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Schaltungsanordnung zum kontaktfreien Erkennen und Verfolgen von Augenpositionen mehrerer Betrachtern in Echtzeit, wobei die Eingangsdaten eine Sequenz digitaler Videoframes umfassen. Das Verfahren umfasst das Zusammenwirken einer Face-Finder-Instanz zum Auffinden von Gesichtern, einer Eye-Finder-Instanz zum Auffinden von Bereichen der Augen, sowie eine Eye-Tracker-Instanz, die zum Erkennen und Verfolgen von Referenzpunkten der Augen dient. Der Erfindung liegt der Gedanke zugrunde, dass die Positionsf indung der Augen innerhalb eines hierarchischen Ablaufs der Instanzen mit dem Ziel umgesetzt wird, die zu verarbeitende Datenmenge ausgehend von der Datenmenge des gesamten Videoframes (VF) zu einem Gesichts-Zielbereich (GZ) und nachfolgend einem Augen-Zielbereich (AZ) sukzessive einzuschränken. Im Weiteren wird eine Instanz oder eine Gruppe von Instanzen jeweils auf einer eigenen Recheneinheit parallel ablaufend durchgeführt. Anwendungsgebiet der Erfindung liegt im Verfolgen der Augenpositionen von Betrachtern autostereoskopischer Displays und in der Videoholographie.
