Abstract

La présente invention concerne un disque dur portable dédié au stockage et au cryptage de données audio et vidéo et au procédé de cryptage afférent. Ce disque ne comporte pas seulement les circuits nécessaires, mais également un module permettant de crypter les données audio et vidéo enregistrées de manière à protéger les droits d'auteur sur ces données. Les données enregistrées sur ce disque peuvent seulement être lues, elles ne peuvent être recopiées ou modifiées sans l'autorisation de l'auteur. Il comporte une coque externe et un circuit interne. Ce dernier est constitué par une interface USB, un moyen de stockage de fichiers USB, une interface IDE/SCSI et un disque dur. Ce circuit comporte également un module de cryptage dont le port d'entrée est connecté à l'interface IDE/SCSI par une ligne de transfert de données. Il peut transmettre les données cryptées au disque dur par l'intermédiaire de l'interface IDE/SCSI. Dans le cadre de la présente invention, le procédé de cryptage des données est assuré essentiellement par un programme de cryptage intégré dans le module de cryptage.
