Abstract

Liquid flow control apparatus (200) for controlling mixing of water for personal use, comprising: a cold-water inlet (202); a hot-water inlet (205); cold water temperature sensing means (211) and a hot water temperature sensing means (212) The apparatus also has data storage means (215) for storing preferred-temperature data indicating a desired temperature of mixed water, and for storing preferred-flow-rate data indicating a desired rate of flow of mixed water; and controlling means (214). The controlling means (214) is configured to perform calculations using the preferred-temperature data, the preferred-flow-rate data, the cold water temperature value, and the hot water temperature value to determine a cold water target flow rate and to determine a hot water target flow rate. The controlling means is also configured to provide a output signals depending upon said cold and hot water target flow rates for supply to electrically controlled valves controlling the rates of flow through the cold-water inlet and the hot-water inlet.
