Abstract

The present invention refers to a cooling and/or freezing apparatus comprising a device for cooling and dispensing of cooled water being incorporated in the door, and in particular to a device for dispensing water being cooled in the cooling and/or freezing apparatus, said device consisting of a suction unit (2) and a pump (3) being mutually interconnected by means of a connecting pipe (1), and of a dispensing unit (4) being in a connection with the pressure side of said pump (3).

Description

Water dispensing device
The present invention refers to a cooling and/or freezing apparatus comprising a device for cooling and dispensing of cooled water, said device being incorporated in the door, and in particular to a device for dispensing water being cooled in the cooling and/or freezing apparatus.
Cooling and/or freezing apparatuses having a device for dispensing cooled water, said device being incorporated into the door, are well known, however all these devices operate on the basis of the free fall of the cooled fluid. Thus, the interior of the door of the cooling and/or freezing apparatus must be designed in a special way in order to receive a water container being specially designed for this purpose. Such a design results in additional and new tools, respectively, for producing the door of the cooling and/or freezing apparatus which increases the production costs and simultaneously reduces the useful space in the cooling and/or freezing apparatus.
It is the object of the present invention to create a device for dispensing the water being cooled in a cooling and/or freezing apparatus which will overcome disadvantages of the known solutions.
According to the invention the task as set above is solved by a device for dispensing the water cooled in a cooling and/or freezing apparatus, said device consists of a suction unit and a pump being mutually interconnected via a connecting pipe, and of a dispensing unit being in connection with the pressure side of said pump. Said connecting pipe is associated, with the free end thereof, to an elastic plug being frictionally connected to a neck of a glass or plastic bottle. The latter is placed on a shelf on the inner side of a door of a cooling and/or freezing apparatus, a suction pipe is associated with said conical end extending in the area of the bottle bottom.
It has been proven that it is an advantage if said elastic plug is additionally formed with a mantle encasing the conical end in a manner that it encompasses the neck of a bottle from the outside thereof. At least one vertical channel is arranged between said mantle and the bottle neck which is connected with at least one additional vertical channel formed in the conical end. Said vertical channels connect the inside of the bottle with the outside. In this manner, it is prevented forming a low-pressure in the plastic or glass bottle.
It is an advantage of the present invention that said plastic or glass bottle is preferably a disposable one, said bottle can be bought in the usual stores and it contains a drink, preferably potable water, whereas a biological quality is thus assured. With this provision both the contamination and the cleaning of the drink container is avoided. Furthermore, it has been proven as an advantage that no additional or even new tools are necessary in order to produce the door and/or the shelves of the cooling and/or freezing apparatus, one can simply use the existing tools intended for the production of the door without the water dispensing device, resulting in the cost effective production of the cooling and/or freezing apparatus wherein the water dispensing device is arranged. When the water dispensing device is not in use, the advantage is also the unchanged use of the storage space.
The invention will be more readily understood on reading the following description with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which: Fig. 1 shows a view of a water dispensing device according to the invention from the inside of a cooling and/or freezing apparatus; Fig. 2 shows view of a water dispensing device according to the invention from the outside of a cooling and/or freezing apparatus; Fig. 3 shows a cross-sectional view of a closing arrangement of a device according to the invention.
A water dispensing device according to the invention is installed in door 1 of a cooling and/or freezing apparatus, and consists of a suction unit 2, a pump 3 and a dispensing unit 4. The suction unit 2 shown in detail in Fig. 3 comprises an elastic plug 5 being attached to the first end thereof i.e. with the lower conical end 6 to a plastic or a glass bottle 7 intended for the reception of a drink like potable water for instance. Said conical end 6 of the elastic plug 5 is centrally provided with a blind vertical bore 8 and a suction pipe 9 is attached thereto extending to the bottom area of a plastic or a glass bottle 7. A vertical bore 8 runs into a blind horizontal bore 10 in the area of the elastic plug 5 positioned above the neck of a plastic or a glass bottle 7, a connecting pipe is associated with the said bore 10 being further connected to the said pump 3. Here, said elastic plug 5 is formed in a manner that in addition to the conical end 6 which cooperates with the outlet of a plastic or a glass bottle 7 it also comprises a mantle 12 encompassing said conical end 6 and embracing at the outside the neck of a plastic or a glass bottle 7. At least one vertical channel 13 is provided between said mantle 12 and the neck of a plastic or a glass bottle 7, said channel 13 being interconnected with at least one vertical channel 13a provided in the conical end 6, both channels 13, 13a connect the inside of a plastic or a glass bottle 7 with the surroundings preventing therewith the creation of the low pressure in said plastic or glass bottle 7. Here, the air path is indicated by a dashed line A (cf. Fig. 3).
The outside door 1 of the cooling and/or freezing apparatus is formed with a dispensing arrangement 14 comprising said dispensing unit 4 and a protection and a decorative shield 15 with a suitable recess 16 for reception of a glass 17. Said dispensing unit 4 comprises a valve part and an actuating handle both being known per se and thus not described in detail. The pump 3 is arranged in the area of the dispensing unit 4 and on the inside of the door 1 , said pump being connected at the suction side via a connecting pipe 11 with a plastic or glass bottle 7, while on the pressure side it is connected with the dispensing unit 4. Also said pump 3 is known perse and thus not described in detail.
Preferably, said plastic or glass bottle 7 is a disposable bottle which can be bought in a usual store and which already contains a drink e.g. potable water. It can be placed into the cooling and/or freezing apparatus onto existing shelf 18 on the inside of the door 1 , and afterwards said elastic plug 5 is placed thereon and the water dispensing device according to the invention is ready for use.
