- the vase 12 when in a collapsed state can be inserted into the interior 14 and the mailer 10 is then ready for sealing.
- the mailer 10 is constructed from a single sheet, i.e., the mailer sheet 26.
- This mailer sheet 26 can be made from cardboard, stiff paper, plastic or any other suitable material that one skilled in the art can imagine.
- FIGS 3A and 3B show the mailer 10 in its unfolded state as this single sheet, mailer sheet 26.
- the mailer sheet 26 has two surfaces, the interior surface 24 (shown in Figure 3A) and an exterior surface 25 (shown in Figure 3B).
- the mailer sheet 26 includes an address panel 28, an information panel 30, side flaps 32, and a sealing flap 34.
- the panels 28 and 30 are differentiated from one another by fold line 45 so that they may be folded to place them in confronting relation. Flaps 32 fold about lines 46 and sealing flap 34 folds about line 47.
- FIG 4 shows how the mailer sheet 26 is folded to create the mailer 10 in its assembled state (as shown in Figures 1 and 2).
- Figure 4 shows the interior surface 24 of the mailer sheet 26.
- the flaps 32 are folded along their respective fold lines 46 to bring the flaps 32 place them into a confronting relation with the information sheet 30.
- the address sheet 28 is folded along the fold line 45 to place the address sheet 28 in confronting relation with information panel 30 and flaps 32.
- the interior 14 (as shown in Figure 1) is created.
- the flaps 32 have flap adhesives 48 placed on the exterior surface 25 which attach the flaps 32 to the interior surface 24 of the address sheet 28.
- glue may also be applied to the flaps 32 in the same location to affect the attachment.
- the flaps 32 have a width "e" which is selected to provide adequate contact surface between the flaps 32 and the address sheet 28.
- sealing flap 34 is folded about its fold line 47 to overlap the sealing flap 34 onto the address sheet 28.
- Sealing flap 34 also includes an adhesive strip 44 which secures the sealing flap 34 to the address sheet 28.
- Sealing flap 34 has a width dimension "f" which is selected to provide adequate area for the attachment of sealing flap 34 to the address sheet 28. This completes the construction of the vase mailer kit, and it is ready to be mailed.
- the information sheet 30 may include an instruction field 50 and an advertising field 52 on the exterior surface 25 of mailer sheet 26.
- the instruction field 50 is printed with instructions correlated to configuration of the vase 12 from the collapsed state to the expanded state and/or use of the vase with flowers or other flora. These fields can contain printed information on the use of the vase 12 and advertising information.
- One skilled in the art can appreciate that various other fields for printed information or writing can be placed upon the mailer sheet 26.
- the mailer 10 may thereafter be opened by grasping either one of tear-away pull tabs 36 and tearing it away from the mailer 10 and towards the remaining pull tab 36.
- the sealing flap 34 includes perforations or indents 38 in the sealing flap 34 which assist in guiding the tearing off of the pull tabs 36.
- the tear-away tabs 36 can be connected by a thin ribbon of tear resistant material, such as a plastic strip, that causes the tearing of the mailer sheet.
- Figure 5 depicts this and Figure 6 shows the mailer 10 with the pull tabs 36 removed and the mailer 10 in the opened state. Once the mailer 10 is in the opened state, the vase 12 can be removed.
- vase 12 may be configured from the collapsed state ( Figures 1 and 2) to an expanded state so as to have a vase interior 19.
- Interior 19 may receive, for example, the stems 102 of a bouquet of flowers 100 along with water so that the flowers may be conveniently displayed.
- the present invention contemplates a method of displaying flowers comprising any of the steps inherent in the use of the above- described mailer kit.
- the method may include, for example, placing a formable vase in a flattened state for shipment into an interior of an envelope to form a mailer wherein said vase maybe configured from the flattened state into an expanded state so as to create a vase interior.
- the mailer may then be sold and addressed to an intended recipient.
- the addressed mailer is then transmitted through a postal service to the intended recipient.
- the recipient removes the vase from said envelope and configures it into the expanded state.
- the stems of flowers may be placed in the vase interior thereby to display them for view.

Abstract
La présente invention concerne un kit de boîte pour envoi postal pour vase comprenant une enveloppe sensiblement scellée d'un type qui est acceptable pour une transmission directe par un service postal. Un vase formable est placé à l'intérieur de l'enveloppe. Ce vase peut alternativement être configuré entre un état aplati et un état déployé.
