Abstract

Gängige elektronische Karten (1) wie z.B. Proximity Cards können Daten zu einer Leseeinheit PCD im Bereich von etwa 1 bis 10 cm übertragen. Zur Komfortverbesserung werden sogenannte «Boosters» eingesetzt, die im wesentlichen eine Funkverlängerung darstellen. Dies ist jedoch hinsichtlich Autonomie und der Zuverlässigkeit der Kommunikation über z.B. 30 bis 50m nicht befriedigend. Zur Lösung dieses Problems wird ein Verfahren mit in eine elektronische Hülle (20) eingeschobene Karte (1) vorgeschlagen, bei dem zunächst die Hülle (20) durch ein elektromagnetisches Feld (42) an einer Durchgangszone (50) aktiv geschaltet wird und dadurch erst eine bidirektionale Kommunikation (25) zur Übermittlung eines Kennzeichens initiiert. Bei Übereinstimmung des übermittelte Kennzeichens mit einem gespeicherten Kennzeichen wird ein Freigabesignal generiert, womit durch den Durchgangsbereich (50) der Zugang zu einer geschützten Zone erlaubt wird.
