Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Material für die aktive Schicht eines elektrochromen Displays, sowie die Verwendung eines solchen Materials und schließlich ein elektrochromes Display auf organischer Basis. Das Material zeichnet sich durch eine besondere Auswahl an Substituenten am Matrix-Polymer aus, die eine Einstellung des Grund-pH-Wertes des Matrix-Polymers ermöglichen. Damit wird erreicht, dass der Grund-pH-Wert der elektrochromen Zelle im Bereich des Umschlagspunktes des Farbstoffs liegt und dadurch eine sehr schnelle Farbänderung bei geringster Spannungsänderung erzielt werden kann.
