Abstract
The invention relates to a drive unit for driving at least one wheel drive shaft, particularly a wheelset axle for use in vehicles, particularly railway vehicles, with a transmission unit comprising at least one output, the output of the transmission unit being formed by a hollow shaft coupled via an articulated coupling to the wheel drive shaft, particularly the wheelset axle. The articulated coupling comprises a first coupling part connected to the hollow shaft and comprises a second coupling part, which can be coupled to the wheel drive shaft, particularly the wheelset axle. Elastic bearing packs are placed between the first and second coupling parts. The invention is characterized by the following features: the first coupling part comprises an annular flange, which is placed on the outer periphery of the hollow shaft and, together with the hollow shaft (8), is provided as a single piece; the second coupling part comprises a hub part with arm-shaped elements, which extend in a radial direction and which can be detachably connected to the wheelset axle, and; the bearing packs are assigned to a coupling part.
