Field of the invention

The present invention relates to necklaces, in particular in the form of pendants, and has the purpose of providing an article of such a sort with an innovative and original conformation with particular reference to peculiar modalities of use by the user. Summary of the invention The necklace according to the invention is basically characterized in that it is made up either totally or in part of a body of frozen liquid, and more in particular of ice.

With a conformation of the sort the necklace according to the invention is evidently aimed at having an ornamental function so to speak temporary, i.e., only for the time in which it remains in the solid state prior to liquefaction. In this perspective, the necklace is prevalently, even though not exclusively, designed for use in summery weather conditions, for example in holiday resorts where it may be sold so as to be immediately worn by the purchaser who may derive therefrom, following upon its liquefaction, a pleasant cooling effect. A scenting or deodorant action may possibly be combined to this effect, if the liquid used to form the frozen body contains a perfume or a scented or deodorant essence.

Alternatively, the necklace according to the invention may be designed for use in wintery weather conditions, i.e., at low environmental temperatures, and in this case the body made of frozen liquid may maintain its shape unaltered obviously for a longer period of time. In this case, a possible purpose of use may consist in attributing to the body made of frozen liquid of the necklace shapes and conformations also of a promotional or symbolic nature, for example imitating the Olympic symbols or with representations of winter sports activities.

Brief description of the drawings Further characteristics of the invention will emerge clearly evident from the ensuing description, with reference to the annexed plate of drawings, which are provided purely by way of non-limiting example, and in which: - Figure 1 is a schematic perspective view of a first possible embodiment of the necklace according to the invention; and

- Figures 2 and 3 show further possible variants. Detailed description of the invention With initial reference to Figure 1, the reference number 1 designates a necklace according to the invention, made up of a pendant designed to be suspended to a necklace or bracelet 2 of any nature and shape . The necklace 1 is at least in part, and preferably entirely, made up of a body of frozen liquid, for example ice, within which an attachment element is incorporated for example having the shape of a ring or a double ring 3 designed to be traversed by the necklace or bracelet 2.

The body of frozen liquid 1 can be made, either at a handicraft level or at an industrial level, by simply introducing liquid within a mould and causing it to freeze. In the case where the body made of frozen liquid 1 is ice, more conveniently the frozen water used to make it will be demineralized and/or distilled so as to ensure a perfect transparency of the body 1. Alternatively, and in the case where a perfect transparency is not required, various freezable liquids, possibly even coloured ones, may be used for the body 1.

Advantageously, the liquid used for the production of the body 1 may also contain a perfume or a scented essence or deodorant, which will be released on the user's body following upon liquefaction of the body 1.

Figures 2 and 3, in which parts that are the same as the ones already described previously or similar thereto are designated by the same reference numbers, show further possible alternative configurations of the body, designated, respectively, by Ia and Ib. Of course the shapes are purely illustrated as not exhaustive examples, since the body made of frozen liquid may present any thought up, including artistic, conformation, or else it may be shaped like a jewel, emblem, symbol, etc.

Of course, the effects of the present invention extend to models that achieve the same degree of utility using the same innovative idea. Thus, the shapes of the necklace and of the corresponding attachment part 3, as well as the frozen substances used for its production, may vary widely with respect to what is described and illustrated herein, without thereby departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the ensuing claims. In particular, although the body of the necklace described previously is entirely made of frozen liquid, various embodiments may be provided in which the body of the necklace is only in part made of ice and is made in other parts of permanently solid materials, such as precious metals and the like.

Claims

1. A necklace, in particular a pendant, characterized in that it is made up either totally or in part of a body of frozen liquid (1, Ia, Ib) .

2. The necklace according to Claim 1, characterized in that said body (1, Ia, Ib) is made of ice.

3. The necklace according to Claim 2, characterized in that said body (1, Ia, Ib) is obtained by freezing demineralized and/or distilled water within a mould.

4. The necklace according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said body of frozen liquid (1, Ia, Ib) incorporates an attachment element (3) to enable it to be hung from a necklace, bracelet or the like (2) .

5. The necklace according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said body of frozen liquid (1, Ia, Ib) contains a perfume or scented or else deodorant essence.
