Brief Description of the Drawings
[18] The features and advantages of the present invention will be more clearly understood from the following embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
[19] Fig. 1 is a cross-sectional view of conventional laminate;
[20] Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view of a mulberry paper patterned laminate according to one embodiment of the present invention;
[21] Fig. 3 is a flow chart illustrating the procedure used for producing a mulberry paper in the present invention;
[22] Fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view of a mulberry paper patterned laminate according to another embodiment of the present invention; and
[23] Fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view of a mulberry paper patterned laminate according to another embodiment of the present invention. Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[24] Preferred embodiments of the present invention that can specifically achieve the above object will be described in detail.
[25] Hereinafter, mulberry paper patterned laminates according to preferred embodiments of the present invention will be explained with reference to the accompanying drawings. The same reference numerals indicate the same elements in the drawings, and further description thereof is omitted.
[26] Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view of a mulberry paper patterned laminate according to one embodiment of the present invention. As shown in Fig. 2, the mulberry paper patterned laminate 10 comprises a kraft paper 11, a base paper 12, a mulberry paper 13 and an overlay paper 14 laminated in this order from the bottom.
[27] The kraft paper 11 is impregnated with a phenol resin. The phenol resin is prepared by condensation and polymerization of phenols and aldehydes. The phenol resin is hard and non-flammable, and has superior electrical and thermal insulation properties.
[28] The base paper 12 laminated on the kraft paper 11 is impregnated with a melamine resin. The melamine resin is a thermosetting resin prepared by condensation of melamine and formaldehyde. The melamine resin is easy to be colored as colorless and transparent, and has high heat resistant and high hardness.
[29] The mulberry paper 13 is laminated on the base paper 12.
[30] Fig. 3 is a flow chart illustrating the procedure used for a producing a mulberry paper by an automatic production process.
[31] Referring to Fig. 3, the method for automatically production of the mulberry paper
13 will be explained below. The mulberry paper used in the present invention is preferably made of a tree stem, such as mulberry stem etc.
[32] First, mulberry stem removed twigs was steamed, and then bark thereof was peeled off (SlO). Peeled bark was dried, and then soaked in cold water to obtain spread bark (S20).
[33] Secondly, grass such as Uramine was added to the soaked bark (S30). At this step, banana skin or rice straw can be further added. Dried leaves or wild grasses etc was scattered or dropped on a moving wire during paper processing in an automatic production line (S40).
[34] Uramine may be included in the leaves or wild grasses as a species of grass called
Nori which grows naturally in Japan. That is, Uramine may be supplied separately or together with leaves or wild grasses. By combination of uramine and the leaves or wild grasses can improve the natural decorative beauty of the mulberry paper.
[35] Next, the mulberry paper was passed through rolls for squeezing water out and then dried in a dry steam line at about 80 C for 40-60 seconds (S50) to complete the production of the final mulberry paper.
[36] Obtained mulberry paper 13 showed natural beauty and thus can be used in decorative application.
[37] Furthermore, pressed and dried leaves or wild grasses for decoration can be further provided on the mulberry paper 13. The mulberry paper 13 is composed of one or more processed mulberry sheets laminated to each other, and pressed and dried leaves or wild grasses for decoration may be inserted between the mulberry sheets during the lamination.
[38] As a result of this course, natural decorative beauty of the laminate can be further improved.
[39] Referring back to Fig. 2, overlay paper 14 impregnated with melamine resin is preferably laminated on the mulberry paper 13. The overlay paper 14 is made of a substantially transparent material so as to display the pattern and shape of the mulberry paper to the outside.
[40] Also, the overlay paper 14 protects the mulberry paper 13 from being directly exposed to the outside, thereby effectively preventing damage to or deterioration of the mulberry paper 13.
[41] In a preferred modified embodiment, the mulberry paper 13 itself is impregnated with a melamine resin. Also, it is preferred that pressed and dried leaves or wild grasses for decoration are provided on the mulberry paper 13, followed by impregnation with a melamine resin.
[42] The mulberry paper 13 is composed of one or more processed mulberry sheets laminated to each other, and pressed and dried leaves or wild grasses for decoration may be further provided between the mulberry sheets during the lamination.
[43] In the above embodiment, the kraft paper 11, the base paper 12, the mulberry paper
13 and the overlay paper 14 can be sequentially layered, and then fixed to one another by high-pressure lamination (HPL) or low-pressure lamination(LPL).
[44] Of course, it is preferred that the kraft paper 11, the base paper 12, the mulberry paper 13 and the overlay paper 14 be pressed under high pressure at high temperature to be firmly fixed to one another. In this manner, a substantially integrated high- strength laminate can be provided.
[45] Fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view of a mulberry paper patterned laminate according to another embodiment of the present invention.
[46] As shown in Fig. 4, the laminate 10 according to this embodiment uses a mulberry paper 13 impregnated with melamine resin without any lamination of an overlay paper thereon. Since the melamine resin impregnated on the mulberry paper 13 have also functions of an overlay paper, the mulberry paper can be securely protected despite the absence of an overlay paper.
[47] Specifically, a melamine resin-impregnated base paper 12 is laminated on a phenol resin-impregnated kraft paper 11, and then a melamine resin-impregnated mulberry paper 13 is laminated on the base paper 12.
[48] The kraft paper 11, the base paper 12 and the mulberry paper 13 can be sequentially layered, and then fixed to one another by high-pressure lamination (HPL) or low- pressure lamination(LPL).
[49] Of course, it is preferred that the kraft paper 11, the base paper 12 and the mulberry paper 13 are pressed under high pressure at high temperature to be firmly fixed to one another. In this manner, a substantially integrated high-strength laminate can be provided.
[50] Further, it is more preferred that pressed and dried leaves or wild grasses for decoration are provided on the mulberry paper 13, followed by impregnation with a melamine resin.
[51] The mulberry paper 13 is composed of one or more processed mulberry sheets laminated to each other, and pressed and dried leaves or wild grasses for decoration may be further provided between the mulberry sheets during the lamination.
[52] Fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view of a mulberry paper patterned laminate according to another embodiment of the present invention.
[53] As shown in Fig. 5, the laminate 10 comprises a mulberry paper 13 provided on the kraft paper 11. The mulberry paper 13 itself have a function of a base paper. The mulberry paper 13 has a relatively high strength when compared to a base paper made of a general paper. Accordingly, the strength of the laminate 10 can be enhanced without any substantial change in the entire thickness of the laminate.
[54] It is preferred that an overlay paper 14 is laminated on the mulberry paper 13. Of course, the mulberry paper 13 itself may be impregnated with a melamine resin
without separate overlay paper 14. [55] Since other constitutions of the laminate according to this embodiment are identical to those of the previous embodiments, detailed description thereof is omitted hereinafter. [56] As described above, the laminates of the present invention have remarkanly improved natural decorative beauty and high strength. [57] It should be understood that the embodiments and the accompanying drawings have been described for illustrative purposes, and those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are allowed without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention. [58]
Industrial Applicability [59] As apparent from the description, mulberry paper patterned laminates provided by the present invention comprises a highly natural decorative mulberry paper, and thus can provide remarkably improved decorative appearance.
