Abstract

The invention concerns a device for protecting the body and the paint of parked vehicles, in particular for protecting the lateral parts against damage caused when vehicles parked in too narrow parking spaces by knocks on the doors, but not exclusively. The device can be placed anywhere on a vehicle at the part intended for protection, such as the hood, the roof, the bumpers or the rear hatch. The device consists of a long and large plate (1) made of close cellular foam (1) lined on at least one side, or partitioned or wrapped with a plastic film (2) of minimum thickness of 16/100th designed to distribute and absorb impacts and prevent the foam from being crushed. It is possible to provide cutouts in the device so as to better adapt it to one's vehicle. Indicia can also be provided on the film (2) to personalize the device and deter theft. The device is also equipped with an anti-theft system (4) (5) (6) as well as with means capable of being repositioned to mount or dismount the device on the vehicles in a few seconds without fixture.
