Abstract

The invention named “Fast Coupling Multipurpose Device for Tractors and Agricultural Machinery” has been designed in order to simplify the coupling between trailing-type farm implements and tractors that have to tow them. The device consists basically of two parts: a first one (A), attached to the rear of the tractor, having to be tilted backwards and inserted into a second one (B), attached to the front of the trailed implement.

Description

FAST COUPLING MULTIPURPOSE DEVICE FOR TRACTORS AND AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY
TECNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION The main application field of this invention is the agricultural one.
Specifically, it is intended for all those machines that have to be mechanically coupled with tractors for power to perform the operations they were designed for.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The device consists of a part, which has to be attached to the rear of the tractor. This part is mobile on its horizontal axis, in order to be tilted backwards and inserted into a second part, vertical and stationary, attached to the front of the machine that has to be lifted from the ground and coupled with the tractor. This second part is provided with seats for couplers allowing to fasten tightly one part to the other.
With regard to possible historical precedents, we have no information about precursors with similar features.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS For a better understanding of the technical specifications of this invention, two plates with drawings have been attached. These plates have an explanatory and non-restrictive purpose and illustrate the following:
Figs. 1 and 2 are a side and front view of the two parts of he device.
Fig. 3 is an enlarged cutaway view of the pivot pin seat. Fig. 4 is a spread out flat view of the pivot pin safetying semi cylinder.
Fig. 5 is a spread out flat view of the safetying semi cylinders seats in the front plates.
Fig. 6 is a spread out flat cutaway view of the securing device operating together with the safetying semicylinder.
Figs. 7 and 8 are a side and front view of the two coupled parts of the device.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
As shown in the drawings, this device consists of a supporting part (A), which has to be inserted into and tightly coupled with a 0 supported part (B).
Referring to figs. 1 and 2, the supporting part consists of a vertex unit (1) originating an upright tooth (2), coupling plates (3) and divergent profiles (4) where square section bars (5) and a brace beam (6) are welded. Forked ends (7) are welded to the section bars (5) 5 bottom end. As shown in fig.3, these forked ends are provided with seats (8) for the pivot pins (9) and their safetying semicylinders (10) (see fig. 4).
The safetying semi cylinders are fastened to their seats by snap rings (11) and are enabled to pivot on their longitudinal axis by 0 manually operating the rods (12).
The pins (13) and (14) are the points of attachment allowing to couple the supporting part (A) with the tractor by fastening its lower part to the bars (15) and its upper part to the hydraulic piston (16). The supporting part can then be tilted backwards to simplify its 5 insertion into the part of the device fastened to the farm implement that needs to be coupled with the tractor. '
The structure of the supported part (B) is suitable for receiving the supporting part (A) and is characterized by points of attachment having a variable position in order to allow the using of the supported 0 part (B) with different agricultural machinery. As shown in figs. 1 and 2, the supported part structure consists of a head plate (17) originating two divergent angles (18) and vertical plates (19) that join to a reinforcing forming bar (20), which is welded behind the angles and joins the blocks (21) welded at the end of these angles. The blocks originate the front plates (22), where the seats (23) are, and the back plates (24), which hold the square bars (25) with cross holes, fastened with bolts (26) to the back plates in order to allow different positions during their extension.
The square bars ends (25) support angled blocks (27) joined with bolts (28). Here the ball joints (29) are welded, serving as the lower points of attachment that allow to fasten the supported part (B) to the machine that has to be coupled with the tractor. The upper point of attachment is one of the holes in the vertical plates (19).
As shown in fig. 5, the front plates (22) originate the seats of the pivot pins (9) and their safetying semicylinders (10) (see fig. 4). The securing devices (31) seats (30) are welded on the external sides of the two external plates. As shown in fig. 6, the securing devices are thrust by springs (32) and fastened by screws (33).
The two parts (A) and (B) (see figs. 7 and 8) are coupled by inserting the tooth (2) of the vertex unit (1) into the hole of the head plate (17) and the safetying semicylinders (10) into the seats (23) in the front plates (22). To complete the coupling of the two parts and therefore operate the securing devices (31) locking the pivot pins in this position, the semicylinders have to be hand turned with the rods (12). This simple structure allows to couple agricultural machinery with tractors from the drivers' cab in a very easy and firm way.
Reversing after having inserted the supporting part (A) of the device between the angles of the supported part (B), serving as guides for the insertion of the tooth (2) into the hole of the head plate of the supported part (B), the first stage of the coupling process will be accomplished operating the hydraulic piston that moves vertically the supporting part (A). The supported part (B) will then be towed and perfectly coupled with the supporting part (A). At this point the operator can get off the tractor and complete the coupling of the two parts operating the pivot pins with the rods (12).
