Definitions

  • This invention relates to a new use of non- pathogenic bacterial strains. More specifically these new strains are used according to the invention by treating both the feet and teats of cows, sheep, goats, horses and this in order to prevent the following diseases: clinical, sub-clinical and chronic mastitis in the teats and dermatitis digitalis, dermatitis interdigitalis, infectious foot rot and thrush, etc. in the feet. All in the broadest possible sense of the word.
  • the invention consists of treating the teats and the feet with a combination product (cleaner with non- pathogenic bacterial strains), developed by the inventors for this application.
  • non-pathogenic bacterial strains are used. Besides the cleaning action of the enzymes secreted by the bacteria, the fagocyting abilities of the bacteria will be used. In this way the nutrients of the pathogenic bacteria will be decimated so that these cannot exceed the infection barrier. This will mean the use of disinfectants will no longer be necessary.
  • non-pathogenic bacterial strains may be used in cleaning any body part of any animal. They are preferably used as an additive in a cleaning product, but other uses are also possible.
