Abstract

The invention relates to a system for mounting kitchen base cabinets which are positioned against a wall, comprising the following steps consisting in: a) fixing a series of fillets (1, 2 and 3) to the wall and floor; b) positioning and fixing a series of vertical uprights (13 and 14) between the fillets; c) positioning and fixing a worktop (20) on the upper horizontal edge of the uprights; d) and mounting doors and closure panels to the front edges of the uprights (14).

Description

SYSTEM FOR ASSEMBLING LOW KITCHEN CABINETS.

The present invention relates to a mounting system for low kitchen cabinets and more specifically for low kitchen cabinets that rest on the floor and a wall. The low kitchen cabinets are constituted and mounted as more or less complete units and are thus transported mounted to the installation site. These cabinets comprise at least side and rear walls, floor and upper crossbar and at the installation site you can mount a running top, as well as doors and drawers. This construction system is relatively expensive, due to the use of material for the rear or rear wall of the cabinets and for the floor thereof. In addition, both the space that exists between the wall and the back and the one that will delimit floor, baseboard, wall and floor, are lost with respect to the total external volume of the cabinets. The object of the present invention is to eliminate the problems set forth by means of a constitutive or assembly system of low kitchen cabinets that makes it possible to dispense with the rear and bottom or floor of this type of furniture, with the consequent saving, both of material and of hand of work, and gain of space, since the interior volume will be limited by the floor and wall of the kitchen.

A further advantage of the system of the invention is that the assembly of the furniture is carried almost entirely at the point or place of installation, being able to store and transport the different disassembled components, which will allow a considerable saving of materials and packaging.

The assembly system of the invention is specially designed for the assembly of low kitchen cabinets that are attached to a wall. The system of the invention includes the steps of: a) Fixing a series of battens on the wall and floor along the support areas of the cabinets on said wall and floor; b) Position and fix between one and other battens a series of vertical panels or structures that delimit intermediate gaps and present coplanar horizontal upper edges and also full interior edges. c) Position and fix on the horizontal upper edge of the vertical panels a countertop that runs between the extreme vertical panels, at least; and d) Mount on the front edges of the door panels and closing walls in at least part of the gaps delimited between said panels.

The strips fixed to the wall will run in a horizontal position and preferably the upper horizontal strip will be fixed to the wall so that its upper edge is in the same horizontal plane as the upper edge of the vertical panels or structures, in the following vertical uprights. In this way, there is a support surface for the worktop defined by the upper edge of the upper horizontal track fixed to the wall and by the upper horizontal edge of the vertical panels.

One or more battens can be fixed on the floor, which will preferably run in a direction parallel to the wall on which the horizontal battens have been fixed.

With this arrangement, the vertical panels will run perpendicular to the rails fixed to the wall and floor and will be anchored to said rails by auxiliary fastening parts.

The fixing of the rails to the wall and floor can be carried out by means of screws, for which said rails can be previously drilled in the sequence and distances to which the vertical uprights must be placed. One of the fixing holes of the rails can be larger in diameter than the fixing screw, which will allow adjusting the horizontality of the rails and the situation in the same vertical plane of the supports or anchoring pieces of the vertical panels. Once the strips are fixed to the wall and floor and the supports or connecting parts of the vertical panels, the two extreme vertical panels are assembled. The rest of the intermediate vertical panels line up with respect to these extreme panels, both in height and frontally. To do this, the vertical uprights can be fitted with their lower legs with adjustable height legs, which will allow the correct positioning of all the panels.

Once all the vertical uprights are positioned, they are fixed by means of screws to the supports or connection pieces or previously fixed in the rails. During this operation, the necessary crossings can also be placed.

Finally, the worktop is placed by means of screws and / or adhesive, which can be anchored next to the upper horizontal strip of the wall and to the vertical panels. The fixing of this countertop confers the definitive structural rigidity of the furniture, which is thus constituted as a single body. Finally, the doors that close the gaps delimited between panels will be assembled. In the event that a hole is intended for mounting drawers, the corresponding guides or slides will already be mounted on the vertical panels. Finally, the furniture can be finished off with decorative side panels, if desired.

The system of the invention allows, in addition to facilitating the transport and storage of the elements necessary for the formation of furniture, a gain of space in two directions, depth and height. By eliminating the rear of the cabinets, space 5 is gained in space from the inner part of the rear to the wall. The same happens with respect to the height, by suppressing the bottom piece and allowing us to use the normally unused space mezzanine, baseboard and floor or bottom.

Also the system of the invention supposes a saving of materials and assembly process, by using the existing wall and floor as or back and bottom of the cabinets. The reduction in the use of materials, the reduction of the processes and the number of pieces, allow to reduce the necessary energy consumption, as well as the material needs for packaging.

The reduction of materials may allow the use of higher quality or bright materials for the formation of the top board that will determine the surface view, the formation of the uprights, as well as the doors and front of drawers.

In the cabinets constructed in accordance with the invention, since there is no wooden bottom, the risk of water spillage, especially in the sink area, is minimized, since this would go directly to the kitchen floor.

All the features and advantages of the system of the invention can be better understood with the following description, made with reference to the attached drawings, in which an example of non-limiting embodiment is shown.

Figure 1 shows in perspective a portion of the floor and wall of a kitchen in which a series of battens have been fixed, corresponding to the same stage of the cabinet assembly system. Figure 2 corresponds to detail A of Figure 1 on a larger scale.

Figure 3 is a view similar to Figure 2, in which the rails include the supports or connection pieces of the vertical panels. Figure 4 corresponds to detail B of Figure 3, on a larger scale.

Figure 5 is a view similar to Figure 1, in which the vertical panels are shown, arranged in accordance with the second stage of the assembly system of the invention. Figure 6 corresponds to detail C of Figure 5, the greater scale.

Figure 7 is a view similar to Figure 5, including the countertop of the furniture.

Figure 8 is a perspective similar to Figure 7, with the front of the cabinet closed by drawers and doors.

Figure 9 is a perspective similar to Figure 7, in which the furniture includes decorative side panels.

Figure 10 is a side elevation of a piece of furniture constructed in accordance with the invention, with a variant of execution on the front thereof.

As can be seen in Figure 1, to carry out the assembly system of the invention, a series of battens 1, 2 and 3 are fixed on the wall 4 and floor 5, coinciding with the areas on which the cabinets will rest on said wall 4 and floor 5. In the example described on wall 4, two strips 1 and 2 have been arranged, while on the floor a single strip 3 has been arranged.

The battens 1 and 2 run in a horizontal position and the batter 1 will be arranged at a height such that the upper edge 6 thereof defines a rear support for the countertop of the furniture. The fixing of the battens to the surfaces of the wall 4 and floor 5 is done by screws. To achieve a correct positioning, at least one of the holes 7, figure 2, for fixing these strips will be of a larger diameter than the screws 8, so as to allow a certain adjustment until the correct horizontal positioning is achieved. The strip 3 will preferably be arranged in a position parallel to the wall 4. All the rails will be provided with the holes 7 and 9 necessary for its fixation to the surface of the wall or floor and also for the fixing of supports or connection pieces 10 and 1 1, by means of screws 12, or by plastic inlaid studs for anchoring uprights vertical If deemed convenient, part 11 may be the same as part 10.

In figures 3 and 4, the supports 10 and 11 are already fixed to the strips 1, 2 and 3. The vertical uprights are constituted by vertical end panels 13 and intermediate 14 which are fixed to the strips by means of the supports or connecting pieces 10 and 11. To this end, these parts have one or two lugs 15 provided with one or more holes 16 for the passage of fastening screws 17, figure 6. The vertical panels 13 and 14 may also be related by cross-members 18.

The arrangement of the vertical panels 13 and 14 delimits gaps, part of which at least may be intended for the assembly of drawers, for which said panels will already be provided with the necessary guides 19.

The uprights 13 and 14 must remain with the upper edge located in the same horizontal plane as the upper edge of the track 1. To regulate and achieve this positioning, the vertical uprights may be provided with adjustable lower legs 20 ', which shall be considered the correct positioning of these panels, following which they are fixed on the brackets or connection pieces 10 and 11.

Then, on the upper edge of the panels 13 and 15 and on the upper strip 1 of the wall and the front cross-member 18, the countertop 20 is supported, which can also be fixed by means of screws and / or an adhesive. To complete the furniture, drawers 21 and 22 are arranged and in certain hollow closing doors 23.

If the ends of the rails 1, 2 and 3 and the supporting legs 20 'of the end vertical panels 13 are to be hidden on the sides of the constructed furniture, decorative panels 24 and 25 can be arranged on these panels. In figure 10 a variant of execution is shown in side elevation, in which the front of the furniture is not vertical, but inclined inwards in an upward direction. In this case, all vertical uprights will have an inclined front edge 26. The purpose of this embodiment, as well as that shown in Figures 1 to 9 in which the lower portion of the front surface is retracted, is to allow the approach of a person, without the end of the shoe colliding with the front of the piece of furniture.

Claims

1.- Assembly system of low kitchen cabinets, attached to a wall, characterized in that it comprises the steps of: a) fixing a series of battens on the wall and floor along the support areas of the cabinets on said wall and floor; b) position and fix between one and the other rails a series of vertical uprights that delimit intermediate gaps and have coplanar horizontal upper edges and coplanar anterior edges; c) position and fix on the horizontal upper edge of the vertical uprights a counter that runs between the extreme vertical panels, at least; d) mount on the front edges of the door panels and closing panels of at least part of the gaps delimited between panels.

2. System according to claim 1, characterized in that at least two of the vertical uprights are carriers, for their facing surfaces, of horizontal guides located at the same height, between which removable drawers are mounted.

3. System according to claim 1, characterized in that the vertical uprights are fixed to the rails by means of brackets or connecting pieces that are anchored to the rails.

4. System according to claim 1, characterized in that the rails fixed to the wall run horizontally.

5. System according to claim 1, characterized in that the track or rails fixed to the floor run in a direction parallel to the wall.

6. System according to claim 4, characterized in that the upper horizontal strip is fixed to the wall so that its upper edge is in the same horizontal plane as the upper edge of the vertical panels.

7. System according to claims 1 and 5, characterized in that at least one track is fixed to the floor, whose outer edge is located close to the vertical plane that the adjacent portion of the outer vertical edge of the vertical uprights.

8. System according to claim 1, characterized in that the vertical panels are carriers in the lower horizontal edge of support legs on the ground, of adjustable height.
