Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to an apparatus for loading a large roll such as a paper roll or a webs roll on a processing line that is elevated from a ground level at a pre¬ determined height without using cranes or forklifts. Background Art
[2] A large roll such as a paper roll is loaded on a conveying apparatus such as a conveyor belt generally using cranes or forklifts because the large roll is very heavy.
[3] Although a processing line is elevated from a ground level even at a short height, it is essential to use the cranes or the forklifts to lift up a large roll and to load the lifted large roll on the processing line. Therefore, an additional operating space is required for the forklifts or the cranes. Furthermore, it is an annoying and time consuming process to load the rolls on the processing line.
[4] In order to overcome such a problem, an apparatus for conveying a roll was introduced in Korea Patent Publication No. 2004-11883 entitled "DEVICE FOR CONVEYING ROLL STRAIGHT BY ROLLING/'issued at 12th JuI. 2005. The con¬ ventional apparatus for conveying the roll is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
[5] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the conventional device includes a plurality of conveying units 20 movably disposed in a forward and a backward direction in a case 10. The conveying unit 20 conveys a large roll R by rolling the large roll R, straightly.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[34] Other objects and aspects of the invention will become apparent from the following description of the embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, which is set forth hereinafter.
[35] FIG. 3 is a perspective view of an apparatus for automatically loading a large roll according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4 is a side cross- sectional view of the apparatus for automatically loading a large roll shown in FIG. 3.
[36] Referring to FIGS. 3 and 4, the automatic roll loading apparatus loads a large roll
500 on a processing line that is elevated from a ground level at a predetermined height. The automatic roll loading apparatus according to the present embodiment includes a first operating plate 210 foldably disposed at a top of the automatic roll loading apparatus, a second operating plate 220 connected to the first operating plate 210 by a link 230 as a shaft, and an elevating unit 300 for supporting or elevating the second operating plate 220 to form a predetermined angle from the first operating plate 210 so as to roll the large roll 500.
[37] In order to load the large roll 500 on the processing line elevated from a ground level at a predetermined height, a groove is formed on a ground by digging a pre¬ determined area of the ground and a frame 100 is planted at the groove to have a top plate 120 of the frame 100 to be parallel to the ground level.
[38] The second operating plate 220 is rotatably disposed at the center of a top plate 120 by a link 230 as a shaft and the first operating plate 210 is also rotatably disposed on the center of the top plate 120. The elevating unit 300 is disposed under the second operating plate 220 to push up the second operating plate 220.
[39] The elevating unit 300 includes a piston 310 to push up the second operating plate
220, a cylinder 340 for moving the piston 310 by pressurizing the piston 310, and a control panel (not shown) for controlling operations of the piston 310 and the cylinder 340 to pressurize or depressurize.
[40] Such a cylinder 340 and a piston 310 may be operated as an air pressure as well as an oil pressure.
[41] Therefore, a typical oil press (not shown) may be included for supplying or releasing an oil pressure, or a typical air compressor (not shown) may be included for supplying or releasing an oil pressure.
[42] In order to stably support the large roll 500 and to prevent the large roll 500 from dropping, the automatic roll loading apparatus further includes a pair of threshold protrusions 110 formed on each side end of the top plate 120 and a tilting protrusion 360 formed on a bottom surface 350 of the cylinder to support the cylinder 340 when it is tilted according to the loading operation.
[43] The cylinder 340 includes a pair of cylinder supporting plates 130 and 140 formed inside the frame 100, the tilting protrusion 360 formed between the supporting plates 130 and 140, a cylinder supporting plate 330 additionally disposed at an one side of the cylinder 340 and the cylinder supporting plate 330 is connected to the cylinder 340 by a cylinder fixing bar 320. Therefore, the cylinder 340 is rotated about the cylinder fixing bar 320 moving in a forward and a back direction.
[44] Hereinafter, operations of the automatic roll loading apparatus according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 5 and 6.
[45] FIG. 5 is a perspective view, and FIG. 6 is a side cross-sectional view of the apparatus shown in FIG. 5 for describing operations thereof.
[46] Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6, if a pressure is supplied to the piston 310 reciprocating in the cylinder 340, the piston 310 moves along the cylinder 340 in an upward direction and pushes up the second operating plate 220 with the link 230 as a center to form a predetermined angle from the first operating plate 210.
[47] Accordingly, a large roll loaded on the first and the second plates 210 and 220 rolls along the first and the second plates 210 and 220 in a forward direction.
[48] Herein, the first operating plate 210 is rotationally moved about rotational shifts
240, 250 and 260 connected the frame 100 thereunder and is elevated to be parallel to the height of the threshold protrusions 110. Accordingly, the large roll 500 rolls over the threshold protrusions 110 and loaded on the processing line elevated from a ground level.
[49] The heights of the elevation of the first operating plate 210 and the threshold protrusion 110 are controlled according to the height of the elevated level of the processing line. Generally, the processing line is elevated from the ground level at several cm or 10s cm. Accordingly, the height of the threshold protrusion 110 is controlled according to the height of the processing line.
