Description

Description
BRACKET POSITIONER INDICATING THE HEIGHT AND ANGULATION OF THE TEETH
Technical Field
[1] This invention is about bracket positioner indicating the height and angulation of the teeth, more specifically, it includes housing and mobile jig supporting bracket, can adjust height of bracket through adjusting the insertion position of mobile jig and adjust installation angle in addition, and can easily represent bracket position. Background Art
[2] As depicted in Fig. 1., the method which can put continuous adjust teeth by fixing correction wire (105) to bracket (103) attached front (or rear) side of the teeth (101) is used. Bracket (103) attachment process, one of the most important steps in orthopedic treatment which rightly and functionally arrays teeth, can be done when the bracket which has proper height and angulation, dependent on worker is attached.
[3] The normal combination of teeth array requires positioning of certain requirement with proper shape of each tooth, the height of teeth lowers a little from front tooth to molar, and front tooth, dog tooth, and molars can conduct chew, speak, swallow, and look beautiful if they are arrayed with proper inclination angle.
[4] To form variable position for all teeth like this, the orthodontic academics have attached brackets using gauges, rearranged models, or naked eyes to decide various positions but they have limits for all teeth to reliably and quickly attach for all about 20 teeth.
[5] First, for the direct attaching method using various gauges to decide position, the bracket attachment should be conducted using expensive gauges, has difficulties to ensure sight in attaching to molar, and has the problem which lowers proximity. Also, the attaching failure triggers by degrading bonding power by attaching to the oral cavity in salivation environment and has problem for time-consuming. Also, when the bracket detaches in using, the original position can't be shown again. It's because that the position standard which makes existing position remain in attaching can't be set, and it involves in discomfort and longer treatment period for patients.
[6] Next, there is a direct attaching method using naked eye. This method doesn't use expensive gauges, but shows defects in using above gauges, especially, there is a problem which only depends on dexterity of workers. This causes problems which can't show various height and angles, and triggers problems lowered persistence and precision of showing angle and position in reattaching.
[7] Also, there is an indirect attaching method using set-up model. This has merit of po- sitioning with precision and persistence compared to using gauge and naked eye methods. This method cuts tooth models between each tooth, repositions all cut plaster teeth, so forms ideal set of teeth. In this set-up model, the position of slots of bracket is determined using complex tools or curved wire similar to this model and attached to tooth of plaster set-up model. After that, the indirect attachment method is done by connecting various transfer trays with between the tooth and bracket.
[8] This method consumes time for attaching and materials too much and much work force are injected, so it has problem for high correction expenses. Especially, in the characteristics of orthodontics, even though the set of tooth are set up with order and bracket is attached to this place, the correction wire which conducts moving teeth attached to this bracket can't move by pre-determined (set-up) shape for insufficient elasticity of wires and play of bracket slots of square-typed groove where the wire is inserted. This causes problem which can't get perfect correction effort.
[9] Also, there is another way of indirect attaching method using TARG or SLOT machines. After tooth model is set on the fixing table, we measure proper height, angulation, torque of tongue or tongue side, in and out, rotation of each tooth, and determine position of bracket slot using other accessories of these instruments. After that, we go through the process making transfer tray as mentioned before. This has such problems as using expensive equipment, existing several measurements, spending working time too much, and connection process of complex transfer tray as well as mentioned before. Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[10] This invention is to solve problems mentioned before, not using various gauges or equipment unlike existing bracket attachment method, and has purpose to provide bracket positioner which can cut costs for orthodontic treatment.
[11] Also, this invention solves sight and approaching difficulties in direct attachment, eliminates attachment failures by saliva, and has another purpose to provide bracket positioner which can attach again to the same place when the bracket is attached again by detaching bracket in using.
[12] Also, this invention includes adjusting height and angle configuration to easily adjust bracket attachment position so the attachment position adjustment can be easily done, and providing bracket positioner for workers to easily attach and reduce attachment errors.
[13] In addition, the transfer tray is made by the process which inserts mobile jig into bracket and housing and attaching housing to tooth model. This invention has another purpose to provide bracket positioner which can reduce time for correction, workforce, and material cost. Technical Solution
[14] To achieve goals mentioned above, this invention provides positioner to attach bracket which includes accept groove to fix correction wire to adjust teeth array on teeth, combination groove is formed with a certain depth inside box-shaped body, and provides bracket for teeth position which includes housing which forms at least more than 2 first-hooks having saw-typed on both walls of combination groove; supporting material extended to the axis direction of teeth, insert material which forms the second- hook inserted into the first-hook on its both sides and formed on the one side of the supporting material with stiffener, and mobile jig which includes combination rising formed at the same direction of the insertion material on the other side of the supporting material to be inserted into wire insertion groove formed on the one side of the bracket.
[15] Desirably, the lower side of the housing makes at least one touching rising risen with a certain length to lower side. Also, it is desirable for handle to be made to the opposite direction of the insertion material, a fixed rising projected with a certain length to upper side at the end of one side of the combination rising of the mobile jig is formed, and can limit the horizontal movement of the bracket.
[16] Also, the positioner stretches to vertical direction formed bar-shaped, additionally includes angulation indication material formed insertion rising with a certain length to horizontal direction, and insertion groove which insertion rising of angulation indication material can be inserted on the other side of combination rising at the supporting material of the mobile jig.
[17] Also, at the end of the angulation indication material, it is formed curving to the same direction of the insertion rising, can make the end contact to the tooth, and is also desirable for anti-spilling material to be formed to protect bond to attach the lower side of the housing with tooth from spilling between the combination rising of the mobile jig and insertion material.
[18] Also, it is desirable for a pair of band fixing groove to be formed for hanging elastic band for additionally fixing bracket which combines with the combination rising at the supporting material of the mobile jig and the lower part of the housing can be formed with wider width than the upper part of the housing.
[19] In addition, instead of the combination jig, a pair of touching rising which can elastically touch at the both ends of the bracket, the combination groove is formed through the housing, and it is desirable for the mobile jig to be inserted facing with each other of the combination groove of the housing. Also, the projected indication part can be formed for forming indication of the first hook to be easily seen at the outer part of the formed part of combination groove of the housing.
[20] Also, the invention provides bracket positioner for orthodontic purpose which includes housing which the combination groove is formed with a certain depth inside, box-shaped, for attaching equipment to attach bracket which includes compartment groove to fix correction wire to adjust set of teeth, combination material which forms at least one fixing rising at the both sides of the cutting groove, the groove is formed at the one side, and has form which can be inserted into the combination groove, supporting material formed at least two fixing grooves at the both sides well fitting with the fixing rising to the axis direction of the teeth and mobile jig which includes combination jig formed at the one side of the supporting material to be inserted into the correction wire compartment groove made on the one side of the bracket. Advantageous Effects
[21] This invention has effects which doesn't use various gauges or other equipment unlike existing ones, can precisely determine attachment position of bracket using simple structure, can numerate attachment height and angulation which makes the bracket position more represent more easily, and can provide bracket positioner which has outstanding representation.
[22] Also, this invention solves the difficulties of sight and approach in direct attaching, can adjust attaching position more easily by including height and angulation to easily adjust attaching position of bracket, and provides bracket positioner which can reduce attaching error and workers can easily attach.
[23] Also, in this invention, the transfer tray can be manufactured with simple process when the mobile jig is inserted into the bracket and the housing and the housing is attached to the teeth model so the invention can reduce time, workforce, and material cost for correction.
[24] This invention shows and explains for specific examples, but wants to make sure that this invention can variously remodeled and changed as far as it doesn't go beyond the spirit or field of the invention prepared by the scope of claim for patent. Brief Description of the Drawings

At this time, the bracket should be attached to the proper height according to the teeth condition of the patient and the bracket groove to support correction wire has to be attached to make perpendicular to the vertical axis (long axis, the longest virtual axis which can be drawn from the upper side of the tooth).
[36] The bracket should be well attached to the teeth surface with satisfying these two conditions, and can be attached again to the same position by recording the attachment condition (height and angulation).
[37] So this invention provides bracket positioner which satisfies these conditions, and now we take a look at the desirable examples.
[38]
[39] The positioner of the invention is as depicted in Fig. 2, and includes housing (20) and mobile jig (10).
[40]
[41] Housing f20^
[42] As depicted in Fig. 2(c), the housing (20) has box-shaped (21). The housing (20) has the combination groove (24) with a certain depth to the horizontal direction of the drawing. The combination groove (24) can be formed penetrating to the both sides, and is possible for the open part to be formed only at the one side. The housing (20) can be formed which the lower part is wider than the upper part.
[43] The first hook(23) with projecting shape is formed inside the wall of the combination groove (24). The first hook (23) is formed with a pair at the facing direction and formed at least more than two hooks. The second hook (13) of the mobile jig (10) is formed at the first hook (23), the attaching place of the mobile jig (10) changes as the position of the first hook (23), and has effect for the height to be easily adjusted.
[44] The first hook (23) can be formed with saw-typed desirably and the cross-section has trapezoid shape and rectangular shape, corresponds to the second hook, and the second hook can be inserted with sliding. The housing surface of the first hook (23) can be formed with projecting part for the forming position of the first hook to be easily indicated.
[45] The lower side of the housing (20) has at least one touching rising (25) with a certain length to the lower side. This touching rising (25) has effect to expand touching area when the housing (20) is attached to the teeth and provides effect for the wrapped resin to be inserted into the groove by the touching rising (25) of housing and can be used without spilling to a certain amount.
[46]
[47] Mobile Jig QO)
[48] As depicted in Fig. 2(b), the mobile jig (10) is formed to insert into the combination groove (24) of the housing (20), and also move the bracket to the vertical of teeth by combining with the bracket which fixes the correction wire with release.
[49] The mobile jig (10) includes the supporting material (14) stretching to the axis of the teeth (vertical direction). The supporting material (14) can be formed with plate shape, whose shape is a little wider that that of long bar or bar type. At the end of the supporting material (14), the insertion material (12) formed with cutting to the per¬ pendicular direction of the supporting material (14) is prepared.
[50] The insertion material (12) is inserted into the combination groove (24) of the housing (20) and the second hook (13) is formed with corresponding shape to the first hook (23) of the combination groove (24) at the both sides of the insertion material (12). The second hook (13) can have various shapes including saw, rectangular, and trapezoid cross-sections as well as the first hook (23). The insertion material (12) has shorter horizontal length than the depth of combination groove (24) of the housing (20).
[51] At the other end of the supporting material (14), combination rising (16) is formed.
The combination rising (16) is formed having corresponding thickness to the width of the compartment groove (refer to Fig. 1) to insert into the compartment groove of the correction wire formed at the one side of the bracket. The combination rising (16) is formed with the same direction to the cutting of the insertion
[52] Also, the handle (18) projected to the opposite direction of the insertion material
(12) is formed on the supporting material (14). The handle (18) is used to insert the mobile jig (10) into the housing (20) using hand or tongs.
[53]
[54] Angulation Indication Material
[55] The insertion groove (17) is formed which the angulation indication material (30) can be inserted to the opposite direction of the combination rising of forming location of the combination rising (16).
[56] As depicted in Fig. 3(a), the angulation indication material (30) stretches to the vertical direction to form bar-shaped. Fig. 3(a) is a drawing shown at the side direction, formed with cutting at the end of it to the direction at the end. The insertion rising (32) projected at a certain length to horizontal direction is formed at the angulation indication material (30) and the cutting direction of the end has the same direction to the insertion rising (32).
[57] As depicted in Fig. 3(b), the angulation indication material (30) is used with the shape which the insertion rising (32) is inserted into the insertion groove (17).
[58]
[59] Fig. 3(c) shows the action which the angulation indication material (30), the housing and the mobile jig attach the bracket to the teeth.
[60] First, insert the bracket (103) to the bracket combination groove (16) of the mobile jig (10), and inserts insertion material (12) into the mobile jig (10) of the housing (20). At this time, the location of the bracket (103) should be placed at the center of the teeth (perpendicular to the longest axis of the teeth). To do this, the insertion material (12) is inserted into the hook with proper height of the first hook inside the combination gr oove of the housing (20). Next, attach the housing (20) to the horizontal surface of the teeth (101).
[61] At this time, the angulation indication material (30) is inserted into the supporting material (14) at the rear side of the bracket, and the wire compartment groove of the bracket is fitted with the longest axis of the teeth when the bracket (103) brings to the vertical surface of the teeth. That means, the insertion rising (32) rotates angulartion indication material to a certain degree orientated to the insertion rising (32) for the location of the longest axis of teeth and angulation indication material, and adjusts the bracket position to the axis of the angulation indication material.
[62] So, the bracket (103) which the height and angulation is finished is depicted in Fig.
3(c).
[63]
[64] Anti-spilling Material (67)
[65] Fig. 4 shows the attaching equipment which forms anti-spilling material. The housing (70) in Fig. 4(a) has the same structure with the housing (10) in Fig. 2.
[66] The mobile jig (60) of Fig. 4(a) is well depicted in Fig. 4(b). This is the same with
Fig. 2 that the mobile jig (60) also has the handle (68), insertion material (62), and the combination rising (70). But the figure is that the anti-spilling material (67) is formed to attach teeth surface and the lower side of the housing (70) (bonding resin for correction) to block the bond from spilling in the bracket fixing step.
[67] The anti-spilling material (67) is projected more than the combination rising (64) and is desirable that the rising is projected to length with the thickness of the bracket and projection of the combination rising. [69] Fixing Rising f64D
[70] Also, the fixing rising (641) can be formed which only projects with a certain length at the end of the combination rising (64). The fixing rising (641) plays a role in blocking the bracket from moving to horizontal which the combination rising (64) is inserted direction. That means, it plays a role in blocking the bracket from moving/ falling through the mobile jig. You can see the fixing rising (171) the same with the fixing rising (641) in Fig. 2(b).
[71]
[72] A Pair of the Mobile Jig
[73] Also, as depicted in Fig. 4(c), the combination groove (74) of the housing (70) is formed penetrating through the housing and can have form which the combination groove of the housing has the opening holes at the both ends. You can use the mobile jig which attaches bracket outer and inner teeth at the same time if you use the housing (70).
[74] That means, the mobile jig (601) of the one side attaches by moving the bracket from the outer side of teeth, and the mobile jig (602) of the other side attaches by moving the bracket from the inner side of teeth. At this time, the length of the each mobile jig (601, 602) should be formed less than the half of the length of the combination groove (74) of the housing.
[75]
[76] Band Fixing Groove f88*>
[77] A pair of the band fixing grooves (88) is formed to additionally fix the bracket in
Fig. 5, which shows another example of this invention. On the drawing of Fig. 5(a), it includes the housing (90) and the mobile jig (80) as well as in Fig. 2. The housing structure is the same with the example of Fig. 2. Meanwhile, the mobile jig (80) is formed which the band fixing groove (88) is formed to the supporting material (85) on the upper and lower sides of the combination rising (84).
[78] The band fixing groove (88) plays a role in additionally fixing the bracket and the mobile jig through the elasticity band (not depicted) if the combination rising (84) is inserted and the bracket is settled to the mobile jig. It is desirable for the band fixing groove (88) to be prepared with a pair to hang the elasticity band. The band fixing groove (88) can have forms which the elasticity band is hung and not easily ejected.
[79] Also, as well as in Fig. 2 and 4, at the end of the combination rising (84), the fixing rising (841) is formed and limits the horizontal movement of the bracket.
[80]
[81] Touching Rising for Molar Bracket f 954*)
[82] Fig. 6 shows the bracket fixing equipment which has the touching rising for molar bracket. The bracket for correction has shape which has compartment groove to horizontal and vertical direction as depicted in Fig. 1, but the bracket attached to molar has form for the compartment groove to have tube shape. This is because that the correction wire forms start and ending point, so it plays a role in not only fixing upper and lower moving position, but also perfectly setting for not loosening the wire.
[83] So to support this molar bracket, another shape is needed different from Fig. 2 or 5.
In Fig. 6, the housing (20) is the same with in Fig. 2, the mobile jig (95) inserted into the housing (20) includes a pair of touching rising (954) which can elastically touch at the both ends of the molar bracket (104) instead of the combination rising. It is desirable for the touching rising (954) to have cone-shape, and it is formed at the end of the touching arm (952).
[84]
[85] Positioner having the Combination Material
[86] This invention provides the bracket positioner with another frame which can easily adjust its position and show representing and move the bracket with fixing at the same time in Fig. 7. The positioner according to Fig. 7(a) includes the mobile jig (45) which can adjust height through the combination material (40) and combination material inserted inside the housing and the housing (50).
[87] In Fig. 7(c), the housing (50) forms with box-shaped. Also, the combination groove(56) is formed with a certain depth for the combination material (40) to be inserted inside to horizontal direction. The lower side of the housing (50) has at least one touching rising (55) which projects to the lower side with a certain length as well as example in Fig. 2.
[88] The combination material (40) is formed which can be inserted into the combination groove (56) of the housing as well as in Fig. 7(d), the cutting groove (44) is formed on the projected side with projecting on the one side, and at least more than one fixing rising (43) is formed at both sides of the inside of the cutting groove. The fixing rising (43) can be hemispherical rising, and is desirable to be projected to elastically extend and contract to a certain degree.
[89] At the cutting groove (44) of the combination material (40), the mobile jig (45) is inserted as depicted in Fig. 7(b). The mobile jig (45) includes the supporting material (48) which extends to the axis of teeth. The fixing groove (47), which well fits with the fixing rising (43) of the cutting groove of the combination material, is formed at the both sides of the supporting material (48). At least more than two fixing grooves (47) are formed on the both sides of the supporting material (48). These fixing grooves is tightened not to move up and down by the fixing rising (43), and can adjust the height of the mobile jig.
[90] The mobile jig (45) includes the combination jig (46) which can be inserted into the compartment groove of the correction wire formed at the one side of the bracket. The shape of the combination rising is the same with in the drawing above.
[91] The mobile jig (45) in this example is combined to the cutting groove (44) of the combination material (40) and the combination material is inserted into the housing (50) with combined. If a force is put on the end of the mobile jig, the fixing groove (47) of the mobile jig (45) is hung to the fixing rising (43) of the combination material, moves to a certain pitch, and the vertical position of the combination rising (46) can be adjusted.
[92]
[93] Mobile Jig with Screw-tvped f415*>
[94] Also, the mobile jig can be formed with screw-typed like in Fig. 8. Like Fig. 7, the structure which the combination material (410) is inserted into the housing (not depicted) and fixed is the same. But at the one side of the combination material (410), the cutting groove in Fig. 7 is not formed and the screw groove (412) where screw thread is formed. The mobile jig (415) is rotated and inserted through this screw groove (412). So the mobile jig (415) is formed with circular cross-section, and screw thread having a certain pitch is formed at the wall. Also, at the lower part of the mobile jig, there is the combination rising (418) to fix the bracket.
[95] If you use the mobile jig (415) having this kind of the screw thread, the position of the combination rising can move up and down by the rotation of the mobile jig and it makes height and position more easily, and has merit to provide the more stable combination structure by strengthening retaining force keeping the adjusted height.
[96]
[97] The Height-selectable Mobile Jig
[98] This invention provides another example using the height-selectable mobile jig
(242) like in Fig. 9.
[99] In Fig. 9(a) and (b), the combination groove with one-step, not multiple step, is formed on the housing (241). The overall shape and lower shape of the housing (241) is the same with the former example, and is different in that the selectable height can be inserted.
[100] The mobile jig (242) is inserted into the housing (241). At this time, sets whose heights are pre-determined are used like in Fig. 9(b) and the mobile jig (242) is used to adjust position (height) where the bracket is attached. In Fig. 9(b), the left mobile jig has the longest vertical length and the height becomes lower as goes to the right.
[101] In this example, select the mobile jig with proper height for teeth model and insert the bracket into the combination groove of the mobile jig, combine this mobile jig to the housing, and attach the bracket. This structure can make sure the easiness of manu¬ facturing because the housing can be made with simpler shape, and can variously height adjustment by using the different jig for each height by making sets of the mobile jig.
