Abstract

The invention relates to a sack which comprises a bag part (1) with a bottom, a mouth and sides and which can be filled through the bottom or the mouth with material, such as fertilizer, and a handle part (3) on the side of the bag part having a support part (4) strengthening the edge. The handle part (3) comprises an elongate hollow tunnel, in which a carrying bar (4) has been attached, and that the handle part has one or more carrying openings (5), by which the sack can be carried.

Description

Sack
The present invention relates to a sack which comprises a bag part with a bottom, a mouth and sides and which can be filled through the bottom or the mouth with material, such as fertilizer, and a handle part on the side of the bag part having a support part strengthening the edge.
The purpose of the invention is to achieve a new type of a sack, which can be car¬ ried either by one person or two persons. Characteristic of a sack according to the invention is that the handle part comprises an elongate hollow tunnel having a car- rying bar attached to it, and that the handle part comprises carrying openings, by which the sack can be carried. In practise, the material which can be heavy fertil¬ izer, for example, is packed in a 20 litre sack either at the factory or in a shop to which the sacks and the carrying sticks are delivered either together or separately. When there are at least three carrying openings, it is possible to achieve a balance when one person is carrying it and the arrangement makes it possible to have two carriers.
Characteristic of a preferred embodiment of the invention is that the carrying bar is a stick made of wood, pressed recycled board or other recycled material. The car¬ rying bar divides the carrying forces evenly on the upper edge of the entire handle part, whereby the sack manufactured of plastic, fabric, paper or other suitable ma¬ terial tolerates well the evenly divided forces. The stick can be use for example as a flower stalk on the home yard.
The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing the sack, in which met¬ hod the sack is manufactured of a tubular billet, whose ends are closed for exam- pie by heat-pressing or gluing. Characteristic of the method according to the inven¬ tion is that the hollow tunnel of the handle part is manufactured in the same manu¬ facturing process as the tubular billet in such a way that the tunnel of the handle part follows the longitudinal edge of the handle part.
Ergonomic benefits of the sack:
- lifting height is reduced due to shorter side of horizontal sack
- risk of breakage of the package is reduced
- lifting is more solid and vigorous
- spreading becomes easier - wooden handle bar is not sweaty or slippery
- makes it easier and thus lighter to carry
Logistic benefits
- wastage is reduced due to better manageability - outward appearance makes it easier to display it and actively sells the product
- short lifting height reduces the risk of breakage of the package in the shop and when loading it to a vehicle
Other advantages
- a PANORAMA-type printing enables clear presentation of instructions and helps the user to make the best out of the product
- elegant
- possibility of reuse
The different embodiments of the invention have been described in the dependent claims of the claim set.
In the following the invention is explained by example by referring to the attached drawing, in which
Fig. 1 illustrates an empty sack and installing a carrying bar to the handle part of the sack and
Fig. 2 illustrates a sack filled with material and a closed sack ready for carrying.
The sack comprises a bag part 1 , which can be filled 2 with material, such as fertil¬ izer, and a handle part 3 attached to the bag part, which comprises a support part 4 supporting the upper edge. The handle part 3 comprises an elongate hollow tun¬ nel, which has a carrying bar 4 threaded inside it. The handle part 3 has three car¬ rying openings 5, by which the sack can be carried. The sack can be carried either by one person or two persons. The handle bar 4 is a stick, which can be made of wood, pressed recycled board or other recycled material. The carrying bar 4 is on the edge of the handle part 3 when the sack is carried, as has been presented in Fig. 2. The handle part 3 is situated on the other side of the bag 1 and the bag can be filled, arrow 2, from the other end, after which the end can be closed for exam- pie by heat-pressing or by express glue. A simple illustration of manufacturing a sack according to one embodiment:
- text and suitable drawings related to the material to be put in the sack, such as turf fertilizer, are printed on a broad plastic film
- the plastic film is turned and glued/heat-pressed as a tube
- the openings in the handle are perforated into the tunnel of the handle part
- the tunnel is sealed by gluing/heat-pressing on the handle bar
- the bottom part of the sack is sealed
- the sacks are bunched together and delivered to the place of filling, such as a fertilizer factory, at which the sacks are filled with fertilizer and the carry- ing stick is threaded inside the tunnel of the handle part, after which the en¬ tire edge of the bag is closed by sealing.
