Abstract

The invention relates to mechanically cutting sewing materials, fibres and fabrics. The aim of said invention is to increase the elasticity, flexibility, reliability and the service life of a knife and to extend the technologically capacities of the device. The invention is characterised in that that the knife is made of thick metal and polymer strings combined into a multilayer structure, wherein the metal strip is placed between the polymer strips and is angularly abutted; the device is provided with a control unit for positioning the drive disc of the band knife whose cutting branches are arranged on the external surface of a post having a cross section which is embodied in the form of a two-side wedge and forms, at the end positions of the drive disc, equal acute angles α and β which range from 5 to 30 grads and whose bases are arranged on the same straight line and are opposite to each other; the device comprises a demountable unit containing the band knife, guiding and stretching supports which are embodied in such a way that they are removable, fixable in the removed position and can be brought close to the knife branches; a table for placing material is provided with a driven disc which is disposed above the material in a body which is connected to said table by a rod; the drive and the drive disc are disposed on the lower side of the table and an open lateral side is embodied around the cutting branches of the knife.
