Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Auftragen eines Films auf ein flächiges, insbesondere luftundurchlässiges, Substrat (22) mit den Schritten (a) Zuführen des flächigen Substrats in eine Zuführrichtung auf eine Auftragsvorrichtung zu (b) Auftragen eines von der Auftragsvorrichtung (16) abgegebenen Films (34) auf das flächige Substrat und (c) scharfes Umlenken des flächigen Substrats zusammen mit dem mit ihm in Kontakt stehenden Film in einem Umlenkbereich (36) in eine von der Zuführrichtung verschiedene Abführrichtung. Die Erfindung betrifft zudem ein Umlenkelement (12) zum Umlenken eines flächigen Substrats mit mindestens einer zum Führen eines flächigen Substrats ausgebildeten Führungsfläche und einer weiteren, mit der Führungsfläche eine Kante zum scharfen Umlenken eines flächigen Substrats einschließende Führungsfläche, wobei sich durch das Umlenkelement mindestens ein Druckluftkanal zur Kante erstreckt, der in mindestens eine Austrittsöffnung im Bereich der Kante ausläuft, die so ausgebildet ist, dass aus dieser ausströmende Druckluft ein um die Kante verlaufendes Luftkissen (40) bildet.
