Description

液晶显示装置用的侧框压条 技术领域
本发明涉及一种液晶显示装置用的侧框压条, 特别是涉及一种具有 Π字型结构的侧框压条, 其设有多个嵌合元件, 以与液晶显示装置所用 的支承框架嵌合并固定。 背景技术
随着半导体技术的快速发展, 各种电子显示装置要求尽量达到轻、 薄、 短、 小等要求。 尤其是平面型显示装置例如液晶显示器、 电浆显示 器等, 更要求解析度高、 轻、 薄等。 据此, 业界无不致力于尽量减少不 必要的组装元件。
目前液晶显示装置已广泛用于桌上型电脑及笔记本型电脑。 而构成 液晶显示装置的液晶显示板模块及背光模块则通过不同的组装过程分别 组装, 随后再使这些模块彼此组装在一起。 现有的背光模块利用一呈口 型的上框架与支承框架将液晶显示装置的元件如反射板、 导光板、 扩散 膜及灯管模块组合在一起, 如图 1所示。 但由于液晶显示装置讲究轻、 薄, 使上述口型上框架必须做得更薄, 从而造成上框架结构太软, 注射 成型较不易,且整体结构较复杂。为了改善制造工艺,美国专利 6,502,945 B2公开一种堆叠背光模块及其组装方法。 该专利所公开的堆叠背光模块 包括一支承框架、 一反射板、 放置在该反射板上的导光板、 放置在该导 光板两侧的一对灯管组件、放置在该导光板上的扩散片以及一对上边框。 这些上边框可覆盖上述导光板边缘并可与上述支承框架彼此嵌合固定。
上述美国专利主要利用一 L型上边框及支承框架作为支撑结构并用 以组合其他元件。 该 L型上边框为了支撑上述堆叠型背光模块, 其边宽 无法做得太小, 否则无法坚固地固持上述堆叠型背光模块。 相对地, 将 损失上述堆叠型背光模块的开口率, 即需要牺牲显示器的可视面积。 因 此, 仍需要一种使上边框的边宽变得较小但仍可,稳固地固持上述堆叠型 背光模块的组装方法。 上述使上边框的边框变小的过程在本申请中称为 "窄边化"。

基于上述现有技术的缺点, 本发明人对液晶显示装置结构进行了广 泛研究, 并因而完成了本发明。 发明内容
本发明的主要目的在于提供一种液晶显示装置用的侧框压条, 其中 该侧框压条具有 π字型结构, 且该侧框压条上设有多个嵌合元件, 用以 与液晶显示装置所用的支承框架嵌合并固定。
本发明的液晶显示装置用的侧框压条由于具有 " Π "字型结构, 因 此通过压条上所设置的嵌合元件与液晶显示装置所用的支承框架嵌合, 可达到传统禾 ϋ用口型上边框所能达到的固定强度。 此外, 根据本发明的液晶显示装置用的侧框压条, 所需上胶框的材 料量可相对降低, 甚至降低至一半以上, 因此具有可节省注射塑胶材料 的优点, 并可大幅缩短上胶框模制时的饱模时间, 并可达到降低成本的 要求。
再者, 使用本发明的液晶显示装置用的侧框压条, 仅需在支承框架 相对两侧设置该侧框压条即可达到固定目的, 从而具有简化组装过程的 效果。 '
此外, 本发明的液晶显示装置用的侧框压条利用三点固定的理论即 可达到固定目的, 因而可使该侧框压条制成边宽较窄从而有助于增加可 视区。 因此, 与 "一" 字型的侧胶框相比, 本发明的侧框压条可增进液 晶显示装置的可视区。
根据本发明的液晶显示装置用的侧框压条可与现有支承框架的结构 嵌合组装, 因此可在不改变现有的支承框架结构的情况下使用, 不需改 变既有液晶显示装置的组装过程, 即可同时达到组装容易、 坚固固定、 节省饱模时间以及节省材料和高开口率的目的。 附图说明

此外,柩据本发明的液晶显示装置用的侧框压条 1, 由于其尺寸与口 型上胶框相 [:匕较小, 从而可大幅縮短上胶框模制时的饱模时间, 并可达 到降低成本 ^要求。
再者, 使用本发明的液晶显示装置用的侧框压条 1,仅需在支承框架 相对两侧分另 ϋ设置一侧框压条 1 即可达到固定目的, 从而具有简化组装 过程的目的。
