- PSTN public switched telephone network
- a remote controller 40 for controlling a function of receiving infrared rays by the mobile communication terminal 20 and remotely controlling an on/off operation of a watch function of the infrared rays generator 10.
- a remote controller 40 for controlling a function of receiving infrared rays by the mobile communication terminal 20 and remotely controlling an on/off operation of a watch function of the infrared rays generator 10.
- the infrared rays generator 10 comprises an infrared rays sensor (not shown) that senses an intrusion of outsider by emitting and receiving of infrared rays after emission thereof, and an infrared rays transmitter (not shown) for producing and transmitting an infrared rays signal upon an intrusion of outsider.
- This infrared rays sensor includes the light emitting and receiving parts, which decide whether or not an outsider is intruded based on a presence/absence of the infrared rays received by the light receiving part, and thus it may be preferable to install the sensor in an entrance/exist of the protection space 1.
- the mobile communication terminal 20 is a terminal that conducts communications with the infrared rays generator 10 via infrared rays radio communications according to Infrared Data Association (IrDA). Usually, it is used as a cellular phone, but upon an issuance of illegal intrusion, as a warning device that receives infrared rays from the infrared rays generator 10 and then warns the fact the user.
- IrDA Infrared Data Association
- the mobile communication terminal 20 is equipped with various basic application programs for the cellular phone function and also comprises a receiver for receiving the infrared rays from the infrared rays generator 10.
- the mobile communication terminal 20 is composed of an infrared rays receiver 210 for receiving infrared rays from the infrared rays generator 10, a base band processor 220, a mike 222, a telephone receiver 224, a mobile communications chip 230, a microprocessor 240, an LCD 250, a text to speech (TTS) 260, and a keypad 270.
- TTS text to speech
- the infrared rays receiver 210 receives the infrared rays from the infrared rays generator 10 within the protection space 1 upon a detection of the illegal intrusion and transmits it to the microprocessor 240 as described later.
- the base band processor 220 converts various voice signals into codes (transmission codes) that are harmonized with characteristics of a transmission path by controlling those signals, and then transmits them, wherein it is connected to the mike 222 and the telephone receiver 224, and functions to adjust an input/output of the voice signals accordingly.
- the mobile communications chip 230 is a chip that is provided with basic cellular phone functions for voice and data transmission, multimedia and electronic note functions, and communications functions for communications with the mobile communications network 54 by a CDMA or GSM system.
- This chip 230 may be connected directly to the mobile communications network 54 through the base station 52.
- the LCD 250 is a display window that displays operation states, current time, and a warning message with warning tone when an illegal intrusion is occurred.
- the TTS 260 which is a type of voice synthesis programs that convert contents of computer document into voice messages, functions to notify the user of the voice message, saying that "illegal intrusion was occurred", which corresponds to a signal from the infrared rays receiver 210, as the warning tone, upon an occurrence of the illegal intrusion.
- the keypad 270 is used to set a phone number of the wire/wireless telephone 60 or another mobile communication terminal 20' and also set an operation of the infrared rays generator 10 to watch an illegal intrusion within the protection space 1.
- the microprocessor 240 controls an operation of general system, e.g., voice and data transmission function of the cellular phone and detects an illegal intrusion by decoding the infrared rays signal from the infrared rays receiver 210. Further, it generates a warning tone upon a detection of the illegal intrusion by the TTS 260 program, and then issues a control signal to control the warning device 30 and also a control signal to have the LCD 250 display information on the intrusion fact. Moreover, it is equipped with a memory that selectively stores a dialing phone number of the wire/wireless telephone 60 or the mobile communication terminal 20' and controls the memory to make an automatic dialing using the stored phone number by a set of the user. Referring back to Fig.
- the wire/wireless telephone 60 serves to allow that the user confirms the intrusion fact at any space other than the protection space 1 and is utilized when the user exists within a given space without user's movement in case the user misses the mobile communication terminal 20 or goes out without the mobile communication terminal 20.
- the protection space 1 is home and the user wishes to know fact on the illegal intrusion at office, or the protection space 1 is office and the user wants to know fact on the illegal intrusion at home
- the user can use the wire/wireless telephone 60 at any space (office or home) which is not the protection space 1 , wherein a phone number to be automatic dialed to the mobile communication terminal 20 is set in advance for usage by the wire/wireless telephone 60 later.
- the base station 52, the mobile communication network 54, the gateway 56 and the PSTN 58 conduct relay function for communications between the mobile communication terminal 20 and the wire/wireless telephone 60, wherein the intrusion warning signal received by the mobile communication terminal 20 from the infrared rays generator 10 is transmitted to the base station 52 and then to the wire/wireless telephone 60 through the mobile communication network 54 and the PSTN 58.
- This mobile communication network 60 is comprised of a base station controller (BSC) 542 and a mobile switching center (MSC) 544 for CDMA or GSM communication and is connected to the base station 52 where the gateway 56 is coupled between the mobile communication network 54 and the PSTN 58 for convenient connection with other communication networks.
- BSC base station controller
- MSC mobile switching center
- the unmanned guard system in accordance with present invention sends the infrared rays signal from the infrared rays generator 10 to the mobile communication terminal 20 via the infrared rays receiver 210 upon a detection of the illegal intrusion, and the mobile communication terminal 20 receiving such infrared rays signal makes the TTS 260 to send the user a warning tone notifying the illegal intrusion fact.
- the watch function of the wire/wireless telephone 60 and another mobile communication terminal 20' that is other than the mobile communication terminal 20 a warning process to a target terminal is conducted by an automatic dialing through the base station 52 and the mobile communication network 54.
- Fig. 4 depicts a flow chart for explaining the operation of the unmanned guard system using the mobile communication terminal in accordance with the invention
- Fig. 5 is a diagram showing a procedure of setting the dialing number using the mobile communication terminal of the invention.
- the inventive process checks whether there is made a watch set of the infrared rays generator 10 and the mobile communication terminal 20, which is installed within the protection space 1. Then, if a watch set for the illegal intrusion of the protection space 1 is needed, the watch function of the infrared rays generator 10 is set in ON state by a remote control through the mobile communication terminal 20 and an automatic dialing function of the mobile communication terminal 20 is set in ON state (S400, S401). These sets are done by the mobile communication terminal 20 and also remotely controlled by the remote controller 40.
- the infrared rays generator 10 set in ON state emits ultraviolet rays and senses it by an infrared rays sensor in its own device in real time wherein the illegal intrusion of the protection space 1 is checked according to the principle that if there exists any object or people passing through the entrance/exit, then the emitted infrared rays is not passed but diffused outside, making light not received. Based on the check result, if there is the illegal intrusion, the infrared rays is generated and sent to the mobile communication terminal 20 via the infrared rays receiver 210, and the mobile communication terminal 20 receives the infrared rays signal through the infrared rays radio communication and checks whether it is normal one (S402-S404).
- the inventive process continues to do the check process by the infrared rays generator 10 as in the previous step, and if it is not normal, the process detects the illegal intrusion and connects to a corresponding mobile communication terminal after an automatic dialing to a preset phone number (01X-YYY-ZZZ or XXX-YYY)(S405-S408).
- the mobile communication terminal may be a personal wire/wireless telephone 60 or another mobile communication terminal 20' as set forth above.
- the inventive process After performing the connection operation, the inventive process notifies the user of the occurrence of the illegal intrusion within the protection space 1 by sending voice message such as "there is occurred the illegal intrusion", or warning tone through the corresponding mobile communication terminal (S409).
- a procedure of setting the automatic dialing phone number as mentioned above is illustrated. That is, the automatic dialing number setting function is first selected through the user's mobile communication terminal 20 and its phone number is inputted (S500, S510). If the inputted phone number is correct, it is stored, and if otherwise, without storage thereof the number is again inputted and then stored (S520, S530).
- the phone number may be a number (i.e., XXX-YYYY) of the wire/wireless telephone 60 or that (i.e., 01X-YYY-ZZZZ) of the mobile communication terminals 20, 20'. If another phone number is further inputted, then the inventive process is returned to the previous step to repeatedly carry out the phone number inputting and storing operations, and if there is no further phone number to be inputted, the setting operation is completed and stopped (S540). While the present invention has been shown and described with respect to the particular embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that many changes and modifications may be made without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
- the present invention can prevent an illegal intrusion of outsider by means of infrared rays and ultrasonic wave. If there is occurred the illegal intrusion, then the present invention can confirm the status in real time at remote distance by automatic dialing using a mobile communication terminal through radio communication. Furthermore, since the present invention can remotely control various operations and watch setting in real time using a mobile communication terminal or remote controller, it has advantages in that it is convenient and can readily prevent the illegal intrusion in advance.
