  • Spray device for the metered delivery of sprayable substances, in particular for the application of non-powdered pharmaceutical active substances
  • the invention relates to a spray device for the metered delivery of sprayable substances, in particular a spray inhalation device for the application of active pharmaceutical ingredients, with a hollow mouthpiece provided with a delivery opening, at the end of which is opposite the delivery opening, preferably a hollow shaft is attached via a hollow angle piece, in which a with the sprayable substance and a propellant filled tank can be used axially displaceably, which is provided with a metering valve which can be actuated by axially displacing a dispensing tube protruding from an end face of the tank into the interior of the tank.
  • Sprayers for metered delivery Fabrics in which a predetermined amount of a substance to be sprayed is released during the actuation stroke have been developed for a wide variety of applications.
  • Spray devices used as spray inhalation devices may be mentioned here as an example.
  • Such inhalers have been used for many years to treat or alleviate acute symptoms of respiratory diseases such as asthma, emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
  • the inhalation devices are designed in such a way that with each actuation stroke, a predetermined dose of the active ingredient can be introduced directly into the airways as a spray. Due to the comparatively small dimensions of the devices, these can be carried by the patient at all times so that they can be used immediately in the event of an impending acute attack of shortness of breath. It is unsatisfactory that in the known devices the residual amount of the active ingredient still contained in the active ingredient tank is difficult to estimate.
