Abstract

La présente invention se rapporte au domaine du traitement de l'image, et plus particulièrement à un procédé d'amélioration de l'image d'empreintes digitales dans le but de faciliter l'extraction des paramètres nécessaires à une reconnaissance d'empreinte. Elle propose un procédé d'amélioration d'une image d'empreinte digitale comprenant au moins des étapes de : normalisation de l'image initiale; détermination de la zone utile de l'image; et caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend en outre des étapes successives de : découpage de l'image en une pluralité de blocs; calcul de la FFT de chaque bloc; détermination des fréquences des blocs d'image à partir desdites FFT; application de filtres de Gabor de paramètres déterminés par lesdites fréquences; détermination des orientations de l'image.
