Abstract

This invention relates to marking a bottle automatically and indelibly while opening its cap initially, comprising a bottle and its cap attached by screwing means (H, J). Below the screwing means (H, J), the bottle has a receptacle (B) aligned with a hole (D) on the circular wall (K) of the cap. The receptacle (B) is connected by a piped passage (C), passing within the wall of the bottle's neck terminating at a vent (G) below. A capsule (A) containing indelible ink is inserted into said receptacle through the cap’s hole (D) and glued inextricably. While opening the cap, its circular wall (K) presses against the capsule (A), breaking it open inwardly and spreading the ink into said piped passage (C) up to the vent (G). Advantage: The marking process assures the consumer that the content of the bottle is genuine. The mark remaining on the bottle permanently thereafter assures the manufacturer that this bottle cannot be re-used for marketing imitation products.

Description

"MARKING A BOTTLE INDELIBLY AND AUTOMATICALLY WHILE ITS CAP IS BEING OPENED TO INDICATE THE BOTTLE'S FIRST USE AND TO PREVENT RECYCLING THE BOTTLE FOR MISUSE1'.
This invention relates to providing a permanent marking on a. bottle while the bottle iβ bein opened, to indicate that the bottle contains originally bottled product. The marking made on the bottle being within the wall of the bottle, recycling this bottle to pass off as an original is not possible.
Therefore for the purpose of this invention., this iβ a bottle of one-time use.
Description: of Prior Arts.
U.S.Pat. No.it>601, 0 titled, "Container and closure with tamper indicating means"
U.S.Pat. o. 5 93 titled, " " " " "
These above said patents consist of a container with, a cavity, either within- or outside the container adopted to receive and. retain a transparent enclosure/tube and the means to mark the enclosure/tube while the cap of the container is bein-g opened or tampered with.
In these above said U.S. Patents, what gets marked is the transparent tube attached to the container. The container Itself being not marked, can therefore be recycled to take the place of an original, filled with substitute product.
lit other citings referred to in this section of Prior Arts also, only appendages attached to the bottle are either marked oi* uncovered to show marks already existing on the bottle, or used as a non-reflllable closure. These are attachments and therefore detachable. The container itself being not marked, can be recycled for misuse.
Normally, when a consumer buys a sealed bottle of chosen Trade Mark brand name, considering the prevalence of imitation products, the consumer canno be certain that the contents of the bottle are genuine or spurious. The original Company bottling its product cannot prevent re-use of their bottles for the purpose of refilling counterfeit product and selling it as original product. This invention prevents re-use of the bottle as an original after its first use. The bottle remains, unmarked when it is bought. While opening the bottle, the bottle is indelibly and distinctly marked automatically.
The object of this invention is to indicate to the user of any chosen product contained in a bottle that the marking process: and the mark remaining on. the bottle indelibly and distinctly thereafter, gives a guarantee that the product is genuine.
The object of this invention-, is also to give confidence, at negligible cost, to makers of Trade Mark brand name products, that with, this device in place on_ their bottles, consumer's apprehension- of buying a counterfeit product is eliminated.
Thus, according to this invention marking a bottle's first use automatically and indelibly while the bottle's cap is being opened and preventing recycling of the bottle for misuse, comprise of a bottle manufactured with a built-in, externally accessible receptacle on its neck, connected by a piped passage between, the inner and outer sides of the wall of the bottle's neck to a vent. The cap of the bottle having a hole on its circular wall, aligned with, the receptacle when the c p is in screwed-down position, allows a capsule containing quick drying indelible colour or c loured compound to be inserted through the hole on the circular wall of the cap and into the receptacle and inextricably glued. While the cap of the bottle is being unscrewed, the circular wall of the cap presses against the capsule, breaking it open inwardly and spreading the colour conrpound into the piped passage up to the vent*
N&w, the invention will be more clearly described with reference to Fig. 1 & Fig. 2 of the accompanying drawings wherein Fig.l shows the bottle and Figȣ shows the cap of the bottle.
The bottle, (Fig.l) having helical ridges, (K) at the top part of the neck, (E) and a externally accessible receptacle, (B) below ala helical ridges, connected by a piped passage, (C) which can m of variable dimension, passing between the inner and outer sides of the wall of the said neck of the bottle and s cing at a vent, (Sϊ at the lower end of said bottle's meek or other designated area; the hole, (D) on one side of the circular wall, ( ) of said bottle's cap, remaining aligned with the said receptacle when the cap, (Fig*2> provided with helical grooves, (J) is screwed-down, em the neck, of the said bottle, allows a capsule, (A) containing quick drying, indelible, colour or coloured compound to be inserted into said receptacle through the hole, (D> of the circular wall, (K) of the cap, (Fig. ) and inextricably glued and the said cap while being unscrewed, presses its circular wall, ( ) again&t the said capsule, breaking it inward and spreading the quick drying, indelible, colour or coloured compound into the piped passage, (C) up to the vent, (G) clearly marking the bottle indelibly, distinctly and automatically.
Working of this imwentioar- hen a filled bottle, (Fig.l) ia* sealed by the bottlers cap, (Fig«2> having a hole, (D) on one side of the circular wail, (K) of said cap, the said hole, (D) is aligned with the externally accessible receptacle, (B> on said bottle's neck (E) allows the capsule, (A) to be inserted through the hole, (D) of the bottlers cap, (Fig.2> into the receptacle, ( ) and inextricably sealed* When, the cap, (Fig.2) is feeing, unscrewed to open the bottle, the circular wall of the said cap presses against capsule, (A) containing quick drying, indelible colour or coloured compound, breaks inwardly and spreads the indelible colour/compound into* the piped passage, (C) which can be of variable dimension, between the inner and outer sides of the wall &i said bo le*© me up to the vent, (&} clearly and distinctly marking the first use of the bottle. arious other embodiments, dimensions or materials used to mark a bottle indelibly and automatically indicating its first use while opening its cap and therefore preventing the re-cycling of the bottle for misuse may be considered within the spirit and ambit of this invention,.
Advantage:- The marking process assures the consumer that the content of the bottle is genuine. The mark remaining on the bottle permanently thereafter assures the manufacturer that this bottle cannot be re-used for marketing imitation product.
