Description

Device at shopping basket and/or shopping trolley The present invention relates to an arrangement for a shopping basket and/or a shopping trolley for making information available to customers who use the aforementioned baskets/trolleys . Previously disclosed is the principle of causing stickers to be securely attached with adhesive, for example, to the outside of shopping baskets or shopping trolleys that are used in the shop for the purpose of providing an advertisement for a range of different companies, products or services. These advertising signs are not capable of being exchanged easily and replaced by new advertising signs. Because customers approach closely to their own baskets/trolleys, it is often difficult for the customer to observe the advertisements on his/her own basket/trolley, as a consequence of which the message often fails to serve its purpose. One problem with such baskets/trolleys is that it can be difficult to cause small items to remain in the basket/trolley on its grating-like bottom due to the square-shaped construction of the basket/trolley. The principal object of the present invention is thus, in the first instance, to solve the aforementioned problems in a simple and efficient fashion. The aforementioned object is achieved by means of an arrangement in accordance with the present invention, which is characterized essentially in that the information in question, such as an advertisement for goods and/or services, and which is in sheet form, is capable of being accommodated internally in an enclosing pocket, in that the aforementioned pocket is so arranged as to be received by fixing elements situated on the bottom of the aforementioned basket and/or trolley in the form either of suction plugs, which cause the pocket to adhere firmly to the aforementioned suction plugs, or of a mat which exhibits a soft and adhesive consistency, which causes the pocket to adhere firmly to the aforementioned mat. The invention is described below as a couple of preferred illustrative embodiments, in conjunction with which reference is made to the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 shows an exploded sketch of a shopping basket with an arrangement in accordance with the present invention; Fig. 2 shows a sectioned view of an arrangement in accordance with the invention applied to the bottom of a shopping basket; Fig. 3 shows an exploded view of a shopping trolley with an arrangement in accordance with the present invention; and Fig. 4 shows an exploded view of an alternative embodiment of the invention. An arrangement 1, which is intended to be applied to a shopping basket 2 or a shopping trolley 3 in order to make it possible to obtain maximum information about intended messages, which the owner of the business wishes to distribute to his/her customers in the shop who use the aforementioned baskets
2/trolleys 3, can be easily appreciated from the drawings in the aforementioned Figures. The invention makes it possible, in an efficient and unique fashion, to provide advertising for different products and services. It extends to almost all sectors, regardless of the type of company, that wish to present their current range of goods and services and in particular new products and services. The invention makes it possible for the desired message to be distributed, i.e. for the advertisements or other information actually to reach the right target group, i.e. the customer. It is difficult for the customer to avoid becoming aware of the message in accordance with the invention. A direct effect is achieved precisely when the customer takes the basket/trolley and looks down into the bottom. The message will be observed by the customer several times during the period for which the customer selects goods and places them in the bottom of the basket 2/trolley 3 and until the customer removes the 5 goods from the basket 2/trolley 3 and places the goods on the moving belt at the till in order for their price to be recorded before the customer pays. It will thus be possible for the message to be observed several times by the customer in this case.
L0 In accordance with the invention, the information 4 in question is in the form of, for example, advertisements for goods and/or services or other information, and is in the form of a sheet of paper board, cardboard, plastic or sheet metal, or a combination thereof, which is capable of being accommodated
L5 internally in a space 5 in an enclosing pocket 6. The aforementioned pocket 6 is so arranged as to be accommodated on a mat 7, which lies on the bottom 8 of a basket 2 and/or trolley 3 of the kind in question. The aforementioned mat possesses the technical characteristic that it exhibits a soft and adhesive
20 consistency, at least on its upper side 7A, which means that the pocket 6 is more securely attached to the aforementioned mat 7. The aforementioned bottom panel 7 exhibits a size A which essentially corresponds to the bottom surface B of the basket 2 and/or the trolley 3. It may be mentioned, for example, that
25 shopping baskets are available in various sizes, for example 20, 22 and 26 litres, and that the bottom surface has corresponding dimensions of 21 x 34 cm, 22.5 x 35 cm and 24 x 38 cm. The bottom panel 7 is made of rubber or plastic with a sticky or tacky consistency and exhibits relatively low density.
30 The aforementioned enclosing pocket 6 is formed by pairs of panels 9, 10, of which at least the upper panel 9 is transparent, although both panels 9, 10 can naturally be transparent, at least to a greater or less degree. The panels 9, 10 are preferably hard and are in the form of a plastic material. In order to form a pocket 6, both panels 9, 10 are attached to one another, for example by welding or gluing along three peripheral edges 11, 12, 13. The aforementioned pocket 6 also exhibits a size C which essentially corresponds to the bottom surface B of the basket 2 and/or trolley 3. The advertising bill 4 in question is accordingly placed between two transparent, hard and light panels 9, 10, which are so arranged as to sit securely on the bottom 8 of a basket 2 and/or trolley 3 with the help of a special mat 7, which is light and soft. The arrangement 1 is simple, clearly visible and attractive and retains its advertising message for a long time, in addition to which it is easy to clean. The invention also relates to receiving means other than a mat on the bottom 8 of the basket 2/trolley 3. Instead of a bottom panel, it is also possible to use suction plugs 107 to hold the pocket 6 intended to contain the advertisement 4 securely. Downward-facing stems 150 with a thickened part 151 are so arranged as to be capable of being inserted into existing holes 152 in the bottom 8 of the shopping basket 2, etc., with the sucking attachment part 153 of the suction plug facing upwards. As illustrated in the drawing in Figure 4, the sucking attachment part 153 can attach itself by suction to the pocket 6 containing the advertising bill 4 that is capable of being laid in the bottom 8 of the basket when the suction plugs 107 are in place in the basket. The suction plugs also exhibit a soft and adhesive consistency, which means that the pocket adheres to them in an effective and secure fashion. More than one suction plug should appropriately be attached in each basket. The aforementioned solution permits easy washing of the baskets after removing the contents from the baskets. This is environmentally friendly because the baskets no longer need to be thrown away, which was previously the case after they had become contaminated. A change of message is easily effected by the owner of the business or some other person with responsibility for the baskets 2 and the trolleys 3 removing the old advertising bill 4 from the enclosing pocket 6 and replacing it with a new advertising bill 4 facing the right way up. A thumb grip 14 on the pocket can be provided in this case to facilitate the replacement. The invention is naturally not restricted to the embodiments described above and illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Modifications are possible, in particular with regard to the nature of the various parts, or by the use of equivalent technology, but without departing from the area of protection afforded to the invention, as defined in the Patent Claims. For example, it would be possible to laminate advertising bills, etc., completely in plastic, similar to the way in which driving licences, passports and identity documents are enclosed in plastic.
