Abstract

An apparatus and a method for inserting a multimedia stream into the DAB transport stream in order to provide a multimedia broadcasting service in the DAB transmission system is provided. The apparatus and method for inserting the multimedia stream inserts and transmits the multimedia stream, e.g., MPEG-2 stream into DAB transport stream, to thereby provide a multimedia broadcasting service without changing an organization of the conventional DAB transmission system.

Description

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR INSERTING MULTIMEDIA STREAM FOR MULTIMEDIA SERVICE IN DAB SYSTEM
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for inserting multimedia stream in a digital audio broadcasting (DAB) transmission system; and, more particularly, to a multimedia stream inserting apparatus and method that can provide a multimedia broadcasting service stably in the conventional DA.B transmission system without changing the structure of the system by transmitting a multimedia stream, e.g., moving picture expert group-2 (MPEG-2) stream, within a DAB transport stream, and a computer-readable recording medium storing a program that implements the method.
Description of Related Art Fig. 1 is a block diagram stowing a conventional digital audio broadcasting (DAB) transmission system. As shown, the conventional DAB transmission system includes an audio encoder 101, an ensemble multiplexer 102 and an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) encoder 103. Recently, a user highly wants to receive a multimedia broadcasting service including a mov-Lng picture service at moving, and various methods are tried in order to accept the demand. Among then, a method for applying the DAB system with strong mobile reception ability is considered as the multimedia broadcasting servite. Because the DAB system based on a conventional Eureka 147 aims for a digitalization of an analog audio broadcasting, it is developed to process only audio data or small quantity data. Therefore, the DAB system has an advantage that it works for a mobile reception, but has a disadvantage that it cannot provide various multimedia broadcasting services. Meanwhile, current digital television (TV) broadcasting provides services based on MPEG-2. As mentioned above, because the multimedia data is transmitted based on MPEG-2 system standard, there is an advantage in multiplexing and synchronization but there is a disadvantage that it does not work for a mobile reception. As above, the apparatus for inserting MPEG-2 stream into conventional DAB transport stream is required when the multimedia data stream processed based on the MPEG-2 system standard is provided through the DAB transmission system based on the Eureka 17.
Summary of the Invention
It is, therefore, an object of the present invention to provide an apparatus and a method for inserting multimedia stream that can provide a multimedia broadcasting service in a conventional DAB transmission system stably -without changing the structure of the system by transmitting a multimedia stream, e.g., MPEG-2 stream, within a DAB transport stream, - and a computer-readable recording medium storing a program that implements the method. In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, there is provided an apparatus for inserting multimedia stream in order to provide a multimedia broadcasting service in a DAB transmission system, the apparatus including: a DAB frame receiving unit for receiving a DAB transport frame; a DAB frame analyzing unit for obtaining structure information of the DAB transport frame by analyzing the DAB transport frame; a DAB frame storing unit for storing the DAB transport frame temporarily; a multimedia stream receiving unit for receiving multimedia stream to be inserted; a multimedia stream analyzing unit for obtaining a transmission rate and structure information of the multimedia stream by analyzing the multimedia stream; a multimedia stream storing unit for storing the multimedia stream temporarily; a DAB frame reconstructing unit for reconstructing the DAB transport frame by inserting the multimedia stream into the DAB transport frame to generate a reconstructed DAB transport stream based on the structure information of the DAB transport frame, and the structure information of the multimedia stream and the transmission rate of the multimedia stream; a controlling unit for controlling the DAB frame reconstructing unit to reconstruct the DAB transport frame; a DAB stream storing unit for storing the reconstructed DAB transport stream to be periodically transmitted by the DAB frame reconstructing unit temporarily for ; and a transmitting unit for transmitting the reconstructed DAB transport stream. In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the an apparatus further includes: a outer- coding unit for outer-coding the multimedia stream outputted from the multimedia stream analyzing unit to generate outer-coded multimedia stream, and outputting the outer-coded multimedia stream to the multimedia stream storing unit. In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for inserting multimedia stream in order to provide a multimedia broadcasting service in a DAB transmission system, the method including the steps of: receiving a DAB transport frame, obtaining structure information of the DAB transport frame by analyzing the DAB transport frame and storing the DAB transport frame temporarily; receiving a multimedia stream to be inserted, obtaining a transmission rate and structure information of the multimedia stream by analyzing the multimedia stream and storing the multimedia stream; reconstructing the DAB transport frame by inserting the multimedia stream into the DAB transport frame based on the structure information of the DAB transport frame, the transmission rate of the multimedia stream and the structure information of the multimedia stream, to thereby generate a reconstructed DAB transport frame; storing the reconstructed DAB transport frame, to be periodically transmitted temporarily; and transmitting the reconstructed DAB transport frame. In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the method further includes the step of: outer- coding the multimedia stream before storing the multimedia stream. In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a computer readable recording media storing instructions for executing a method for inserting multimedia stream in order to provide a multimedia broadcasting service in a digital audio broadcasting (DAB) transmission system provided with a processor, including the steps of: receiving a DAB transport frame, obtaining structure information of the DAB transport frame by analyzing the DAB transport frame and storing the DAB transport frame temporarily; receiving a multimedia stream to be inserted, obtaining a transmission rate and structure information of the multimedia stream by analyzing the multimedia stream and storing the multimedia stream; reconstructing the DAB transport frame by inserting the multimedia stream into the DAB transport frame based on the structure information of the DAB transport frame, the transmission rate of the multimedia stream and the structure information of the multimedia stream, to thereby generate a reconstructed DAB transport frame; storing the reconstructed DAB transport frame, to be periodically transmitted temporarily; and transmitting the reconstructed DAB transport frame. In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the computer readable recording media includes the step of: outer-coding the multimedia stream before storing the multimedia stream. The present invention is related to an apparatus and a method for inserting data processed based on MPEG-2 system standard in the conventional DAB transmission system, and is described as followings summarily. If the multimedia stream processed based on MPEG-2 system standard (which will be referred to as MPEG-2 stream hereinafter) is to be transmitted through the DAB transmission system, at first, structure information of a DAB transport frame where the MPEG stream is inserted must be obtained by analyzing the DAB transport frame inputted though an interface transmission standard such as a service transport interface (STI) and an ensemble transport interface (ETI) . Thus, it is needed to have space where the MPEG-2 stream is inserted. Also, structure information and transmission rate information of the MPEG-2 stream by analyzing the MPEG-2 to be inserted. Based on the above information, the MPEG-2 stream is inserted and transmitted in stable with satisfying the DAB transmission standard. Wherein, the MPEG-2 stream to be inserted is outer-coded based on a packet unit in order to be resistant to transmission errors.

Detailed Description of the Invention
The above and other objects and features of the present invention will become apparent from the following description in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Hereafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In a digital audio broadcasting (DAB) transmission system, the interface transmission standard such as service transport interface (STI) and ensemble transport interface (ETI) is used in order to multiplex and transmit digital audio broadcastings. The present invention can be applied to the DAB transmission standard such as the STI. However, the present invention will be described based on the ETI transmission standard hereinafter. Fig. 2 is a block diagram showing the DAB transmission system to which the present invention is applied. The DAB transmission system includes an audio encoder 201, an ensemble multiplexer 202 and an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulator 204. As shown, the present invention, i.e., an MPEG-2 stream inserting apparatus 203, is located between the ensemble multiplexer 202 and the OFDM modulator 204. The present invention is related to an apparatus and a method for inserting the MPEG-2 stream into the DAB transport stream in order to provide a multimedia broadcasting service in the DAB transmission system and, as shown, it is related to an apparatus and a method for inserting the MPEG-2 stream without changing an organization of the conventional DAB transmission system. In other words, the present invention provides the multimedia broadcasting service including the moving picture service through the DAB transmission system, and inserts the MPEG-2 stream in order to take the advantage of multiplexing and the synchronization of the MPEG-2 system. Fig. 3 is a block diagram showing a multimedia stream inserting method and apparatus that can provide multimedia broadcasting service in the DAB transmission system in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention. In particular, it ghows an apparatus and a method for inserting the MPEG-2 stream. As shown, the multimedia stream inserting apparatus, i.e., the MPEG-2 stream inserting apparatus 203, in accordance with the present invention includes an ETI frame receiving block 300 for receiving an ETI frame which is a DAB transport frame, an ETI frame analyzing block 301 for analyzing structure information of the ETI frame, an ETI frame buffering block 302 for storing the ETI frame temporarily in order to reconstruct the ETI frame, an MPEG-2 receiving block 303 for receiving the MPEG-2 stream including the multimedia data, an MPEG-2 stream analyzing block 304 for evaluating the transmission rate of the received MPEG-2 stream and analyzing a received stream state, an outer-coding block 305 for outer-coding in order to make the MPEG-2 stream be resistant to transmission errors, a MPEG-2 stream buffering block 306 for storing the MPEG-2 stream temporarily in order to reconstruct the ETI frame, an ETI frame reconstructing block 307 for reconstructing the ETI frame by reading data from the ETI frame buffering block 302 and the MPEG-2 stream buffering block 306, a controlling block 308 for controlling the ETI frame reconstructing block 307 in order to reconstruct the ETI frame, an ETI stream buffering block 309 for transmitting the reconstructed DAB transport frame, and an ETI frame transmitting block 310 for transmitting the ETI frame through a physical level. Herein, the ETI transport frame denotes the DAB transport frame received through the interface transmission standard of the ETI. Hereafter, the MPEG-2 stream inserting apparatus and method suggested in the present invention will be described. The DAB transmission system based on the Eureka 147 standard constructs a frame with an encoded digital audio and transmits the frame to the OFDM modulator 204, wherein the transport interface is based on the ETI transmission standard. The ETI frame receiving block 300 receives the conventional audio broadcasting, and then transforms the physical signal of the audio broadcasting into the logical signal of the conventional audio broadcasting and also packetizes the logical signal based on the ETI frame unit. The ETI frame analyzing block 301 analyzes the received ETI frame to thereby obtain the structure information of the ETI frame. The ETI frame includes an
ETI frame field, a fast information channel (FIC) , a main service channel (MSC) . The ETI frame analyzing block 301 obtains the structure information by analyzing the ETI field and the FIC. The structure information of the ETI frame obtained as above is transmitted to the ETI frame, stored in the ETI frame buffering block 302 temporarily for reconstructing the ETI frame and then transmitted to the
ETI frame reconstructing block 307. Meanwhile, a stream for multimedia broadcasting service includes a video stream, an audio stream and a system information stream based on the MPEG-2 system standard. The MPEG-2 stream is inputted through a physical interface used in the digital broadcasting transmission such as a Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers 310M (SMPTE 310M) and a Digital Video Broadcasting-Asynchronous Serial Interface (DVB-ASI) . Therefore, the MPEG-2 stream receiving block 303 transforms the MPEG-2 stream which is a physical signal inputted through the physical interface such as the SMPTE 310M and the DVB-ASI into a logical signal and transmits the logical signal to the MPEG-2 stream analyzing block 304 by sorting based on a packet. Also, when the MPEG-2 stream receiving block 303 receives an encoded elementary stream, the MPEG-2 stream receiving block 303 additionally transforms the encoded elementary stream into the MPEG-2 stream. The MPEG-2 stream analyzing block 304 evaluates an effective transmission rate of the inputted MPEG-2 stream and analyzes the structure information of the MPEG-2 stream, and to thereby transmit the obtained information to the ETI frame reconstructing block 307. The outer-coding block 305 performs the outer-coding based on a MPEG-2 transport stream (MPEG-2 TS) in order to make the data to be resistant to the transmission error. The MPEG-2 stream buffering block 306 stores the outer- coded MPEG-2 stream temporarily, and then transmits the outer-coded MPEG-2 stream to the ETI frame reconstructing block 307. Meanwhile, the ETI frame reconstructing block 307 obtains information about a space where the MPEG-2 stream is inserted and the ETI frame field is modified due to the insertion by using the structure information of the frame and the stream received from the ETI frame analyzing block 301 and the MPEG-2 stream analyzing block 304. The ETI frame reconstructing block 307 reconstructs the ETI frame by using the ETI frame received from the ETI frame buffering block 309 and the MPEG-2 stream received from the MPEG-2 stream buffering block 306. The reconstructed ETI frame is stored in the ETI stream buffering block 309 temporarily in order to guarantee fixed periodical streaming because the ETI frame has a fixed transmission frame period. The ETI frame transmitting block 310 transforms the logical ETI frame received from the ETI buffering block 309 into the physical ETI frame and transmits the physical ETI frame. The controlling block 308 controls flows of all control signals when the ETI frame is reconstructed and monitors all elements 300 to 310. Also, the controlling block 308 receives the structure information of the ETI frame and the transmission rate and the structure information of the MPEG-2 and transmits the received information to the ETI frame reconstructing block 307 and an information processor 400. The received information is used for reconstructing the ETI frame in the ETI frame reconstructing block 307. Fig. 4 is a detail block diagram showing the ETI frame reconstructing block of Fig. 3 in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention. The ETI frame reconstructing block 307 includes the information processor 400, an MSC constructing unit 401, an FIC constructing unit 402, an ETI frame field constructing unit 403 and a multiplexer 404. The ETI frame reconstructing block 307 and a method for reconstructing the ETI frame implemented in the ETI frame reconstructing block 307 will be described hereinafter. The information processor 400 obtains the information on the space of the MSC of the ETI frame where the MPEG-2 stream is inserted, and obtains a volume of MPEG-2 stream to be inserted into a ETI frame, FIC frame field modification information and FIC modification information by using the structure information of the ETI frame, and the transmission rate and the structure information of the MPEG-2 stream received from the ETI frame analyzing block 301 and the MPEG-2 stream analyzing block 304. Herein, the ETI frame field modification information includes the ETI frame field to be inserted and insertion location information related to the MPEG-2 stream. Meanwhile, the FIC modification information includes information of the FIC frame field to be inserted, the insertion location and the FIC modification of the ETI frame related to the MPEG- 2 stream. The MSC constructing unit 401 constructs a new MSC with the MSC in the ETI frame received from the ETI frame buffering block 302 and the MPEG-2 stream received from the MPEG-2 stream buffering block 306 based on the information of the space where the MPEG-2 stream is inserted and the MPEG-2 stream volume is inserted. The FIC constructing unit 402 constructs a new FIC based on the IFC modification information received from the information processor 400 and the FIC in the ETI frame received from the ETI frame buffering block 302. The ETI frame field constructing unit 403 constructs a new ETI frame field based on the ETI frame modification information received from the information processor 400 and the ETI frame field value in the ETI frame received from the ETI frame buffering block 302. The multiplexer 404 multiplexes the new ETI frame field, the new FIC and the new MSC based on the ETI frame structure standard and stores the multiplexed ETI frame in the ETI frame buffering block 309. Fig. 5 is a block diagram describing a method for inserting MPEG-2 stream into an ETI frame with a preferred embodiment of the present invention. Because the object of the conventional DAB transmission system is to provide the digital audio broadcasting, the input ETI frame includes only audio information and an audio stream. As shown, the ETI frame which is the DAB transport frame includes the ETI frame field, the FIC, the MSC and a padding field related to the audio. The present invention is to ,inserting information and stream related to multimedia stream, i.e., the MPEG-2 stream, into the ETI frame. The ETI frame and the MPEG-2 stream to be inserted are analyzed, and then the multimedia stream is inserted into the analyzed information based on the analyzed information. To reconstruct the audio ETI frame field, the multimedia ETI frame field is inserted behind by using the ETI frame field obtained in the information processor 400, while the audio ETI frame field which is maintained without a change. Thus, the multimedia ETI frame field related to the MPEG-2 stream is inserted behind the audio ETI frame field using the insertion location information. Meanwhile, the FIC includes information on the whole structure of the stream existing in the MSC and information related to the existing stream. Therefore, for the reconstruction the FIC, the multimedia FIC is inserted behind the audio FIC and the FIC related to the whole structure is modified. Thus, the multimedia FIC frame field to be inserted in relation to the MPEG-2 stream is inserted into the conventional audio FIC and the FIC related to the whole structure is modified according to the IFC modification information in the ETI frame using the insertion location information. Meanwhile, for the reconstruction of the MSC, the multimedia MSC, i.e., the MPEG-2 stream, is inserted into the audio MSC by using the space of the MSC of the ETI frame where the MPEG-2 stream is inserted and using the MPEG-2 stream volume to be inserted in one ETI frame. So for, a case where the DAB transmission system of the present invention follows the ETI transmission standard is described. When the DAB transmission system is based on the STI transmission standard, the present invention can be applied. The basic configuration and the operation are identical to the ETI transmission standard. However, because the transport frame based on the STI does not have the FIC, it does not require the FIC constructing unit 402. An STI frame reconstructing block corresponding to the ETI frame reconstructing block 307 includes an information processor, an MSC constructing unit, an STI frame field constructing unit and a multiplexer. The information processor corresponding to the reference numeral M00'' obtains MPEG-2 stream insertion space information, MPEG-2 stream volume to be inserted into an STI transport frame and STI frame field modification information in the STI transport frame by using structure information of the STI transport frame and transmission rate and structure information of the MPEG-2 stream. Herein, the STI frame field modification information includes STI frame field to be inserted and insertion location information related to the MPEG-2 stream. The MSC constructing unit corresponding to the reference numeral M01' constructs a new MSC with the MSC in the STI frame received from the STI frame buffering block corresponding to the ETI frame buffering block 302 and the MPEG-2 stream received from the MPEG-2 stream buffering block corresponding to the reference numeral x306' based on the stream insertion space information and the MPEG-2 stream volume to be inserted into one STI transport frame received from the information processor. The STI frame field constructing unit corresponding to the ETI frame field constructing unit 403 constructs a new STI frame field based on the STI frame modification information received from the information processor and the STI frame field value in the STI frame received from the STI frame buffering block. The multiplexer corresponding to the reference numeral M04' multiplexes the new MSC and new STI frame field based on the STI frame structure standard. As above-mentioned, the method of the present invention can be embodied as a program and stored in a computer-readable recording media, such as CD-ROM, RAM, floppy disk, hard disk, magneto-optical disk and the like. The present invention can provide the multimedia broadcasting service through the conventional DAB transmission system because it can process the multimedia data based on the MPEG-2 system standard and transmit them by using the conventional DAB transmission system. Therefore, the multimedia broadcasting service can be provided through the DMB transmission system. Also, it is more appropriate for the transmission system the multimedia data through the DAB transmission system based on the Eureka 147 than through the DTV broadcasting system. Therefore, the present invention can provide the multimedia service stably through a small- sized terminal even when the terminal is moving. While the present invention has been described with respect to certain preferred embodiments, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications may be made without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the following claims.

Claims

What is claimed is:
1. An apparatus for inserting multimedia stream in order to provide a multimedia broadcasting service in a digital audio broadcasting (DAB) transmission system, the apparatus comprising: a DAB frame receiving means for receiving a DAB transport frame; a DAB frame analyzing means for obtaining structure information of the DAB transport frame by analyzing the DAB transport frame; a DAB frame storing means for storing the DAB transport frame temporarily; a multimedia stream receiving means for receiving multimedia stream to be inserted; a multimedia stream analyzing means for obtaining a transmission rate and structure information of the multimedia stream by analyzing the multimedia stream; a multimedia stream storing means for storing the multimedia stream temporarily; a DAB frame reconstructing means for reconstructing the DAB transport frame by inserting the multimedia stream into the DAB transport frame to generate a reconstructed DAB transport stream based on the structure information of the DAB transport frame, and the structure information of the multimedia stream and the transmission rate of the multimedia stream; a controlling means for controlling the DAB frame reconstructing means to reconstruct the DAB transport frame; a DAB stream storing means for storing the reconstructed DAB transport stream to be periodically transmitted temporarily; and a transmitting means for transmitting the reconstructed DAB transport stream.
2. The apparatus as recited in claim 1, further comprising: a outer-coding means for outer-coding the multimedia stream outputted from the multimedia stream analyzing means to generate outer-coded multimedia stream, and outputting the outer-coded multimedia stream to the multimedia stream storing means .
3. The apparatus as recited in claim 1, wherein the DAB frame analyzing means analyzes fields of the DAB transport' frame, to thereby obtain the structure information of the DAB transport frame.
4. The apparatus as recited in claim 1, wherein the controlling means transmits ' to the DAB frame reconstructing means the structure information of the DAB transport frame and the transmission rate and the structure information of the multimedia stream received from an outside.
5. The apparatus as recited in claim 1, wherein the multimedia stream is processed based on a moving picture expert group-2 (MPEG-2) system standard, which is inputted through an interface standard such as society of motion picture and television engineers (SMPTE) and digital video broadcasting-asynchronous serial interface (DVB-ASI) .
6. The apparatus as recited in claim 1, wherein the multimedia stream receiving means" transforms an elementary stream into a multimedia stream based on the MPEG-2 system standard when the multimedia stream receiving means receives the multimedia stream in form of the elementary stream.
7. The apparatus as recited in claim 1, wherein the DAB frame reconstructing means includes: an information processing means for obtaining multimedia stream insertion space information, a volume of the multimedia stream to be inserted into each DAB transport frame, ensemble transport interface (ETI) frame field modification information and fast information channel (FIC) modification information based on the structure information of the DAB transport frame, the transmission rate of the multimedia stream and the structure information of the multimedia stream; a main service channel (MSC) constructing means for constructing new MSC with the MSC in the DAB transport frame and the multimedia stream using the multimedia stream insertion space information and the volume of the multimedia stream to be inserted; a FIC constructing means for constructing a new FIC based on the FIC modification information and the FIC in the DAB transport frame; an ETI frame field constructing means for constructing a new ETI frame field based on the ETI frame modification information and the ETI frame field value in the DAB transport frame; and a multiplexing means for multiplexing the new ETI frame field, the new FIC and the new MSC based on the ETI frame structure standard. -
8. The apparatus as recited in claim 7, wherein the ETI frame field modification information includes information of an ETI frame field to be inserted and an insertion location related to a multimedia stream to be inserted.
9. The apparatus as recited, in claim 7, wherein the FIC modification information includes information of the FIC frame field, an insertion location and the FIC modification in the ETI frame related to a multimedia stream to be inserted.
10. The apparatus as recited in claim 1, wherein the DAB frame reconstructing means includes : an information processing means for obtaining multimedia stream insertion space information, a volume of a multimedia stream to be inserted into each DAB transport frame and service transport interface (STI) frame field modification information based on the structure information of the DAB transport frame and the transmission rate of the multimedia and the structure information of the multimedia stream; a MSC constructing means for constructing new MSC with the MSC in the DAB transport frame and the multimedia stream using the multimedia stream insertion space information and the multimedia stream volume to be inserted; an STI frame field constructing means for constructing new STI frame field using the STI frame modification information and the STI frame field value in the DAB transport frame; and a multiplexing means for multiplexing the new STI frame field and the new MSC based on the STI frame structure standard.
11. The apparatus as recited in claim 10, wherein the STI frame field modification information includes information of a STI frame field to be inserted and an insertion location related to a multimedia stream to be inserted.
12. A method for inserting multimedia stream in order to provide a multimedia broadcasting service in a digital audio broadcasting (DAB) transmission system, the method comprising the steps of: a) receiving a DAB transport frame, obtaining structure information of the DAB transport frame b analyzing the DAB transport frame and storing the DAB transport frame temporarily; b) receiving a multimedia stream to be inserted,, obtaining a transmission rate and structure information off the multimedia stream by analyzing the multimedia stream and storing the multimedia stream; c) reconstructing the DAB transport frame ^ inserting the multimedia stream into the DAB transport frame based on the structure information of the DAB transport frame, the transmission rate of the multimedia stream and the structure information of the multimedia stream, to thereby generate a reconstructed DAB transport frame; d) storing the reconstructed DAB transport frame to be periodically transmitted temporarily; and e) transmitting the reconstructed DAB transport frame.
13. The method as recited in claim 12, further- comprising the step of: f) outer-coding the multimedia stream before storing- the multimedia stream at the step- b) .
14. The method as recited in claim 12, wherein the step c) includes the steps of: cl) obtaining multimedia stream insertion space information, a volume of a multimedia stream to be inserted into each DAB transport frame, ensemble transport interface (ETI) frame field modification information and fast information channel (FIC) modification information based on the structure information of the DAB transport frame, the transmission rate of the multimedia stream and the structure information of the multimedia stream; c2) constructing means for constructing a new MSC with the MSC in the DAB transport frame and the multimedia stream based on the multimedia stream insertion space information and the volume of the multimedia st-rream to be inserted; c3) constructing a new FIC based on the FIC modification information and the FIC in the DAB transport frame; c4) constructing a new ETI frame field based on the ETI frame modification information and the ETI frame field value in the DAB transport frame; and c5) multiplexing the new ETI frame field, t ie new FIC and the new MSC based on the ETI frame structure standard.
15. The method as recited in claim 12, whterein the step c) includes the steps of: cl) obtaining multimedia stream insertion space information, a volume of a multimedia stream to be inserted into each DAB transport frame and service transport interface (STI) frame field modification information based on the structure information of the DAB transport frame, the transmission rate of the multimedia stream and the structure information of the multimedia stream; c2) constructing a new MSC with the MSC in the DAB transport frame and the multimedia stream based on the multimedia stream insertion space information and the volume the multimedia stream to be inserted; c3) constructing a new STI frame field based on the STI frame modification information and the STI frame field value in the DAB transport frame; and c4) multiplexing the new STI frame field and the new MSC based on the STI frame structure standard.

A computer readable -recording media storing instructions for executing a method for inserting multimedia stream in order to provide a multimedia broadcasting service in a digital audio broadcasting (DAB) transmission system provided with a processor, the method comprising the steps of: a) receiving a DAB transport frame, obtaining structure information of the DAB transport frame by analyzing the DAB transport frame and. storing the DAB transport frame temporarily; b) receiving a multimedia stream to be inserted, obtaining a transmission rate and structure information of the multimedia stream by analyzing the multimedia stream and storing the multimedia stream; c) reconstructing the DAB transport frame by inserting the multimedia stream into the DAB transport frame based on the structure information of the DAB transport frame, the transmission rate of the multimedia stream and the structure information of the multimedia stream, to thereby generate a reconstructed DAB transport frame; d) storing the reconstructed DAB transport frame to be periodically transmitted temporarily; and e) transmitting the reconstructed DAB transport frame.
17. The computer readable recording media as recited in claim 16, further comprising the step of: f) outer-coding the multimedia stream before storing the multimedia stream at the step b)
