This permits an authorised opener of the safe sufficient time to deactivate the alarm using a reset button linked to the circuit.
  • the alarm may be audible, but in another, the alarm system may include a transmitter for transmitting a silent signal for detection by a remote receiver.
  • the electrical circuit of the alarm system may be linked to the house or building main alarm system and the alarm system of the invention may activate the main alarm to silently alert a remote monitor.
  • a visual alarm signal may also be provided.
  • the power source may comprise that of the main alarm, but in an alternate form an independent or back-up power source may be included in the electrical circuit of the invention. This is also useful where the system of the invention is not linked to the main alarm.
  • the alarm device may instead of emitting a sound or visual indication, transmit a signal via the usual communication means to a security monitoring company.
  • the alarm system may be activated immediately upon opening of the safe, and a visual/audible indicator may be activated immediately, but a dummy or false reset button may be provided, which when depressed by the owner, deactivates the visual or audible alarm but either initiates or does not de-activate the transmission of the signal to the security monitoring company. In this way, the would-be thief believes the alarm has been de-activated, but the monitoring company is still warned of the situation.

  • a tilt switch which senses rotational movement form a horizontal position (30) is also linked to the system and when such movement is detected, an alarm condition will instantly be initiated.

Abstract

Cette invention se rapporte à un système d'alarme pour un coffre-fort mural (10) ou similaire, ce système d'alarme comprenant une unité d'alarme (16) montée contre la paroi supérieure (18) et la paroi arrière (14) du coffre-fort. Cette unité contient un détecteur de lumière et/ou de mouvement qui déclenche un signal d'alarme lors de la détection de lumière ou de mouvement, après ouverture du coffre.
