Definitions
- the present invention relates to a container made of plastic material for food products, incorporating at least a cup.
- plastic containers for food products typically bottles made of PET for water, fruit juices or other drinks
- the need is often felt to have at least a cup available when consuming the product.
- normally no cups or glasses are available and one is forced to drink the liquid directly from the mouth of the bottle.
- the document JP-A-20010310954 discloses a bottle, which partially solves the problem because it incorporates a removable cup within its bottom.
- a protuberance outside the bottle or a recess is provided which allows to secure the cup and hold it externally to the bottle itself, or else a tape wound externally to the bottle holds the cup.
- the bottle is tapered inferiorly, i.e. it has a diameter that becomes progressively smaller towards the bottom so the bottle can be enveloped by the cup that is inserted externally to the bottle itself.
- the external cup is not protected, it is prone to being damaged and it is exposed to dust, so the ideal hygienic conditions are lacking.
- the object of the present invention is to eliminate the aforesaid drawings by making available a bottle incorporating at least one cup which is simple and economical to manufacture, which allows an easy use of the cup whilst guaranteeing its hygiene and integrity and assuring that the cup has never been used previously.
- Said objects are fully achieved by the container of the present invention, which is characterised by the content of the appended claims and in particular in that at its bottom it is so shaped as to define a seat within which is housed at least one cup made of plastic material.
- the seat can preferably have a substantially U-shaped section, in which the edge of one or more cups is engaged.
- the seat is inferiorly protected by a tape or by the label normally present on the container, which can be provided with a die cut or weakened area with facilitated tear-off along the entire perimeter encompassing the container and are preferably such as to serve as a safety seal for the cup.
- Figure 1 is a partially sectioned front view of the container;
- Figure la shows a detail of Figure 1 in an embodiment variant;
- Figure 2 shows a front view of the container with the label
- Figure 3 shows a front view of the container without the label
- Figure 4 shows an embodiment variant of the container.
- BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION the number 1 globally designates a container, typically a bottle made of plastic material or PET for drinks, which is originally shaped in such a way as to define inferiorly a seat or cavity 2, in correspondence with its own bottle, able to incorporate at least one cup 3, also made of plastic material for drinks.
- the seat 2 has a substantially U shaped section, and in its upper annular edge 4 the corresponding outer edge 5 (inserted substantially to fit into seat 2) of one or more cups 3 is coupled by a slight pressure.
- the seat 2 is so shaped as to define an annular protuberance 9 which facilitates interaction with the edge 5 of the cup, preventing an accidental escape thereof.
- the seat 2 is inferiorly protected by a tape or by a label 10 which normally encompasses the container 1. Since these are heat-shrinking labels (whereas the tapes may also not be heat-shrinking), it is sufficient to position them in such a way that a sizeable edge of the tape or of the label projects inferiorly with respect to the bottle, to cause the tape or the label, at the moment of the heat-shrinking operation, to be wound under the bottom of the bottle, covering the cup 3 and constituting a sort of safety seal, as shown in Figure 2.
- an adhesive tape 6 positioned substantially in the shape of "U” and traversing the bottom of the bottle to hold the cup.
- the cups 3 are engaged by slight pressure into the seat 2 and are extracted from said seat by slight extraction force exerted manually through appropriate cavities or openings 8 described below and therefore the tape or the label described above do not so much serve the purpose of holding the cup as to provide a seal to guarantee the integrity and the lack of prior use of said cup.
- the tape 6 or the label are provided for this purpose with a die cut or weakened area 7 for facilitated tear-off along the entire perimeter that encompasses the container 1, to be able to extract the cup at the moment of use.
- the area of the bottom of the container 1 is originally so shaped as to have cavities 8 that open not only on the bottom but also laterally to the container, shaped in such a way as to facilitate the fingers' access for the extraction of the cup or of the cups.
- Such cavities can also be the cavities present in the so-called petal-like bottom of PET bottles.
- the seat 2 is also shaped in such a way that the bottom of the cup inserted therein does not constitute a bearing base, but is recessed with respect to the profile of the bottom of the container 1, to prevent damages to the cup, which is more delicate than the container 1.
- the container 1 maintains both an excellent stability and ability to contain liquids. Since the container 1 substantially maintains intact the dimensions of traditional containers, it is suitable to be treated by current bottling machines and installations, with no need for particular modifications.
