Abstract
A gas sensor having a gas-sensing material (3) and a porous material (4) which is nanoporous or mesoporous, wherein the porous material (4) incorporates a metal, a compound of the metal or a mixture thereof, wherein the metal is chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, vanadium, niobium, tantalum, iron, osmium or ruthenium is disclosed. In addition, a gas sensor having a gas-sensing material blended with a porous (15) material which is nanoporous or mesoporous is disclosed.
