Abstract

An oscillator circuit (1) comprises an oscillator (2) and a synthesizer (3) connected in a feedback loop. The oscillator produces two signals: a first signal which is fed to the synthesizer and a second signal which constitutes the output signal of the circuit. The second signal is a harmonic of the first signal, thus allowing the synthesizer to operate at a much lower frequency than the actual output signal of the circuit. As a result, the power consumption of the circuit is reduced. The oscillator circuit is advantageously used in receivers for consumer devices.
