POUCH CONTAINER WITH SPOUT ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR
MAKING THE SAME
Figure imgf000002_0002
The present invention relates to a pouch container with a spout
assembly and a method for making the same.
BACKGROUND ART
Generally, a pouch container is opened by a cutting tool so that
the user can use the contents contained therein. In recent years, a
spout assembly is associated with the pouch container to easily
discharge the contents through the spout assembly.
When the spout assembly is used, there is a need to hygienically
protect the spout portion of the spout assembly. However, no
development for this solution has been proposed. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Therefore, the present invention has made in an effort to solve
the above-described problems of the conventional art. It is an
objective of the present invention to provide a pouch container that can
hygienically protect a spout portion of a spout assembly and a method
for making such a pouch container.
To achieve the above objective, the present invention provides a
pouch container comprising a main body formed by front and rear films
attached to each other to define a bag,' a spout assembly attached on an
end of the main body to dispense contents contained in the main body;
and a gusset portion formed by extending from one of the front and rear
films and by being folded, a bottom of the pouch container being
remained as an unsealed portion through which contents can be filled in
the pouch container.
The unsealed portion is sealed after the contents are filled in the
pouch container.
The spout assembly is covered by a cover extending from the main
body with a cutting line formed between the cover and the main body.
The gusset portion is formed by a separated film. According to another aspect of the present invention, there is
provided a pouch container comprising a main body; a spout assembly
attached on one end of the main body; and a cover extending from the
main body to cover the spout assembly, wherein a first portion of the main
body, which is opposite a second portion where the spout assembly is
attached is remained as an unsealed portion, the unsealed portion is
sealed in a perpendicular direction of the second portion after contents are
filled in the main body through the unsealed portion.
According to still another aspect of the present invention, there is
provided a method for pouch container with a spout assembly, comprising
the steps of forming a main body by releasing films from a roll of film;
forming a cutting line on the main body; locating the spout assembly on
the main body such that an attaching portion of the spout assembly is
located right under the cutting line and a spout portion of the spout
assembly is located right above the cutting line; and sealing a portion of
the main body, where the spout assembly is located.
A portion of the main body, where the spout assembly is not located,
is remained as an unsealed portion.
According to still another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for making a pouch container with a spout assembly,
comprising a steps of foirnϊng a main body by releasing films from a roll
of film; forming a cutting on a corner of the main body to defmed a cover
for covering the spout assembly; locating the spout assembly on the
corner of the main body based on the cutting line so that an attaching
portion of the spout assembly can be located right under the cuttmg line;
and sealing a portion the main body, where the attaching portion is
located, together with both sides of the portion.

A preferred embodiment of the present invention will be
described more in detail hereinafter in conjunction with the
accompanying drawings.
An inventive container 1 includes a main body 10 formed of a tube
or a fiim and a spout assem ly 20 attached on an end of the main body 10
to dispense contents contained in the main body 10, wherein a spouting
portion 21 of the spout assembly 20 is covered with a cover 12 that
extends from the main body 10 with a cutting line between them.
When the main body 10 is formed of films, the main body 10 is
formed in a bag-shape using front and rear films 13 and 14 attached to each other. The bag-shaped main body 10 has a lower end defined by
an unsealed portion 15.
In use, the unsealed portion 15 is first opened to fill contents therein.
Then, the front and rear films 13 and 14 are pulled so that side ends 16
becomes sides 17, after which seal is realized. As a result, the seal
portion of the cover 12 and a seal portion 18 formed along a centerline CL
are perpendicularly disposed.
In order to use the contents, the cover 12 is cut away by cutting the
cutting line 11 and the closer formed on a top of the spout portion 21 is
removed.
FIGS. 2 through 6 show a pouch container with a spout assembly
according to another embodiment of the present invention.
The embodiment will be described hereinafter. Although identical
reference numerals are used, they do not any relations with the forgoing
embodiment.
A container 1 has a main body 10 formed of front and rear films 11
and 12 attached to each other.
A spout assembly 20 for discharging contents is attached on an
upper portion of the main body 10. The spout assembly 21 may be covered by a cover 14 extending from the main body 10 with a cutting line
13 between them .
In addition, a gusset portion 15 is formed on a lower portion to
define a folded lower portion 16 formed by folding the front film 11. The
gusset portion 15 is folded and extended to define an unsealed portion 17
with the rear film 12.
Alternatively, the gusset portion 15 may be formed by a lower end of
the rear film 12. Alternatively, the gusset portion 15 may be formed by a
separated film .
An operational effect of the present invention will be described
hereinafter.
From a state depicted in FIG. 2, contents are filled in through the
unsealed portion 17, and than the unsealed portion 1 is sealed.
In order to use the contents filled in the container 1 , the cover 13 is
cut away by cutting the cutting line 13 and a closer formed on the spout
portion 21 is moved by being twisted. By doing this, the contents can be
discharged through the spout portion 21 .
FIG. 4 shows a state where side portions of the container 1 is
removed in a predetermined shape to improve the self standing force. FIG. 5 shows a state the unsealed portion 17 is sealed after the
contents are filled through the unsealed portion 17. This shows that the
self-standing force can be improved.
FIG. 6 shows a front view of FIG. 5.
Alternatively, the gusset portion 15 may be formed by a separated
film.
FIGS. 7 and 8 show a method for making a pouch container with a
spout assembly according to an embodiment of the present invention.
The reference numerals used in this embodiment do not relate to those of
the forgoing embodiments.
Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, the film F is released from a roll and the
cutting line 10 is formed to define a cover 11. Based on the cutting line
10, an attaching portion 100 of the spout assembly 100 is located right
under the cutting line 10 and the spout portion 101 with the closer 102 is
located right above the cutting line 10.
The container 1 has a seal portion formed on both sides of a portion
where the spout assembly 100 is attached. The cover is also sealed by a
seal portion 4 to hygienically protect the spout portion 101 .
The above-state is shown in FIG. 7. The container shown in FIG. 7 is made through a series of processes shown in FIG. 8.
In use, contents are first filled in the container through an
unsealed portion 5 and the unsealed portion 5 is sealed, thereby
providing a product A.
In order to use the contents contained in the container, the cover
11 is removed from the container 1 by cutting the cutting line 10.
In this state, the closer 102 is twisted and removed from the
spout portion 101. The contents can be exhausted through the spout
portion 101.
The filling process and the sealing process can be consecutively
performed.
The spout assembly 100 may be attached on a corner of a pouch
container 1 and'covered by a cover with a cutting line between the cover
and the pouch container 1.
In this case, the unsealed portion may be formed on a top of the
pouch container 1 and the bottom can be sealed. Furthermore, a
bottom gusset may be formed on a bottom of the pouch container 1.
nvrr TCTΌT Λ T Λ pτ_>τ τr> Λ TOTT T V As described above, the present invention is directed to a pouch
container with a spout assembly, in which the spout assembly can be
hygienicaily protected. The present invention is further directed to a
method for mass production of such a pouch container.
