Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé consistant à chauffer une masse de déchets à une température de 2000 °C dans un four en l'absence d'air atmosphérique par le biais de la circulation d'un fluide caloporteur à haute température dans des conduits réfractaires à haute résistance disposés dans la partie sole du four afin que les substances nocives soient détruites, que la plupart des métaux et de leurs oxydes soient fondus et que les substances renfermant du carbone subissent une graphitisation. L'utilisation de la réductibilité du carbone à des températures élevées pour transformer le dioxyde de carbone introduit dans une enceinte isolée du four en oxyde de carbone qui, associé dans un mélange stoechiométrique à de la vapeur d'eau et de l'oxyde de calcium, intervient dans la réaction chimique de production d'hydrogène chimique à l'extérieur du four, permet non seulement d'empêcher que l'oxyde de carbone et le dioxyde de carbone soient rejetés dans l'atmosphère mais aussi d'utiliser le carbone extrait de la masse de déchets. Le fait que le chauffage des déchets et que l'utilisation de tous les composants ainsi produits puissent être réalisés entre 22h et 8h heure locale, lorsque le tarif de l'énergie consommée est nettement inférieur au tarif de jour, permet d'utiliser l'électrolyse de l'eau en vue d'augmenter la production d'hydrogène.
