Abstract
A porous calcium phosphate high molecular weight hydrogel composite having through holes which has artificial three-dimensional through holes having a diameter of 70 μm to 4 mm, has a porosity of 20 to 80 %, and contains calcium phosphate having a Ca/P mole ratio of 0.75 to 2.1 as a primary component, wherein the through hole is packed with the high molecular weight hydrogel; a method for preparing the composite; and an artificial bone or a sustained release material for a drug using the composite. The above composite can carry an effective ingredient such as a drug only by the immersion thereof in a solution containing the ingredient.
