  • An embodiment of the present invention might include a separate pouch, gusset or compartment to contain items such as power cords, adapters, a power surge protector and other supplies not essential to the operation of the computer and the printer. This would keep the main compartment free from additional clutter.
  • the present invention provides a carrying case that may comprise a separate compartment for cords and cables as described above.
  • the compartment is preferably arranged adjacent to the bottom wall, and may be a compartment with rigid walls, or with soft-sided walls. The latter is preferred, such as a compartment formed as a net in the bottom of the carrying case.

  • a platform 11 arranged on spacing means 14', 14" supports the peripheral device, in the present embodiment a printer 12.
  • the moveable platform may be made from semirigid or rigid material.
  • the portable computer 10 is freely moveable below the platform 11.
  • the lid is resting on the bottom wall 6 non- releasably connected to the back wall 5.
  • the back wall 5 may also be con- nected through the zipper to the bottom wall 6, whereby the lid may be totally released from the back wall 5.
  • the platform 11 may be pushed into the carrying case 1 , leaving enough space in front of the platform 11 to work with the portable computer 10 with its screen open in an ergonomically correct way, as shown in Figure 4.
  • the printer 12 located on the platform 11 may be loaded with paper and used while positioned in the carrying case 1.
  • the platform 11 may be removed from the carrying case 1 for arrangement for example on a table as shown in Figure 5. Furthermore, in Figure 5 the platform 11 is shown in greater detail.
  • the printer 12 is preferably releasably attached to the platform 11 , for example by means of loops and hooks, normally known as Velcro.
  • the printer 12 may of course be attached to the platform 11 by means of any other at- tachment means.
  • the spacing means 14', 14" project both below the platform 11 and backwards of the platform 11 when the platform 11 is standing with the printer 12 in use.
  • the spacing means 14', 14" also function to establish a space between the lower edge 22 of the platform 11 and the bottom wall 6, when the platform 11 is located in the carrying case 1 in its closed state.
  • the spacing means 14', 14" is provided with at least one aperture 23 to allow cords and cables to pass.
  • the printer 12 may be arranged in the carrying case 1 with the platform 11 substantially perpendicular to the bottom wall 6 as shown in Figure 6.
  • the spacing means 14' 14" project from the platform 11 towards the back wall 5 when the carrying case 1 is in its closed state.
  • the platform may be held in place by means of at least one strap 16', 16".
  • Below the lower edge 22 is shown a compartment 13 suitable for arranging cords, cables, plugs etc. Due to the spacing means 14', 14" extending below the platform it is secured that the printer 12 does not exert a pressure on the cords, cables and plugs in the compartment 13.
  • FIG 6 is also shown a computer shelf 15 on the platform 11.
  • the portable com- puter 10 is arranged on the computer shelf 15 when the carrying case 1 is in its closed state.
  • the computer shelf 15 is preferably located at a distance above the bottom wall 6, leaving space to allow the plugs to be plugged in the portable computer 10 also during transport without any risk that the plugs will be broken. Thereby the portable computer 10 and the peripheral device, here in the form of a printer 12, may be connected during transport in a ready-to-use state.
  • the width of the computer shelf 15 is preferably smaller than the height A of the portable computer 10.
  • the computer shelf 15 projects in a predetermined angle from the platform, 11 , in a preferred embodiment the computer shelf 15 is perpendicular to the platform, 11.
  • the necessary cords, cables, transformers, and plugs may be arranged in the compartment 13 as shown in greater detail in Figure 7.
  • the compartment 13 is an openable net releasably attached to the bottom wall 6.
  • FIG. 7 Also in Figure 7 is shown a projecting means 21 for fixing the platform 11 in a firm position against the back wall 5.
  • the projecting means 21 presses the spacing means 14', 14" of the platform 11 against the back wall 5 when the carrying case 1 is in its closed position.
  • the spacing means 14', 14" may engage the projecting means, for example as a hook around the engagement means.
  • FIG 8 is shown an aperture 17 covered with a flap 18 in the left side wall 3.
  • the aperture 17 has dimensions to allow passage for cords and cables as well as plugs, when electrical connections and/or communication connections are necessitated.
  • the carrying case 1 may be provided with one or more of such apertures. Thus, if an external power source is being used, end of the cords for the computer and printer may pass through said aperture(s).
  • the carrying case may further be provided with pouches for office accessories, such as pens, pencils, paper etc.
  • the carrying case 1 may be carried by means of the handle 8 as shown in Figure 1 , or a shoulder strap 19 as shown in Figure 9, since the carrying case 1 due to its construction has a very low weight.
  • a wheeled dolly may also be provided for carrying the carrying case 1.

Abstract

La présente invention concerne une mallette de transport pour un ordinateur portable et les dispositifs périphériques associés. La mallette de transport peut se trouver à l'état fermé ou à l'état ouvert, et comprend 1) au moins une paroi latérale gauche et une paroi latérale droite, une paroi avant et une paroi arrière, et un fond, la paroi arrière étant articulée avec le fond, et la paroi latérale gauche et la paroi latérale droite étant connectées à la paroi avant, et 2) une plateforme amovible disposée en parallèle avec la paroi arrière lorsque la mallette de transport se trouve à l'état fermé.
