Abstract

In females during menstrual cycle bleeding occurs which is stopped by releasing organic compounds known as 'progesterone' by the body. Excessive uterine hemorrhage is a condition where excessive bleeding occurs and it is presently cured by administering various kinds of allopathic medicines. This invention contemplates the effective and economical treatment of excessive uterine hemorrhage using Coconut Flower extract in a very short period and most importantly without any side effect. The process involves a unique method of preparation of Coconut Flower extract and to produce a medicine there from. The extract contains various organic compounds which at present are being prescribed to the patients in various forms of allopathic medicines along with additional and supplemental medicines to overcome any side effects. Further the treatment period is considerably reduced from 2-6 months as against just 5-7 days using coconut flower extract.

Description

'A process to apply the effectiveness of Coconut Flower"
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to a process of preparing herbal composition extract from coconut flower used in stopping the abnormal and excessive uterine hemorrhage.
The herbal extract from coconut flower as contemplated in this invention is to be used for stopping abnormal and excessive uterine hemorrhage in females. This herbal extract provides a unique and noble treatment for excessive uterine hemorrhage in females without any side effects and considerably reducing the recovery time for patients.
PRIOR ART
The problem of excessive uterine hemorrhage has been tackled mainly by allopathic form of medicines. This form of treatment has gained wide acceptance amongst medical fraternity and patients solely due to the fact that there are no effective available alternatives to this. As per allopathic form, of treatment medicines are administered to the patients, which may extend from 2-6 months depending upon the response of the patient to the prescribed drug.
Medicines usually recommended by doctors can be broadly categorized into six different forms.
1. Hormone therapy
As per Hormone Therapy oral medroxy progesterone Acetate and
Noresthistrone tablets are prescribed. 2. Tranexamic acid
A synthetic analogue of lysine has been developed for clinical use as an antifibrinolytic agent. It inhibits clot lysis and helps in clot stabilization.
3. Ethamsylate
It is non-hormonal synthetic and hemorrhagic agent. It exerts its action on platelet-vessel wall interaction by favoring formation of an active haemostatic plug,
4. Combination of Tranexamic acid and ethamsylate.
5. Antiprostaglandin-mefenamic acid.
6. Ormeloxifene (sevista) - Optimally designed 'SERM' (Selective Oestrogen Receptor modulator) that antagonizes the effect of oestrogen on uterine tissue.
However in all above treatment some other supportive treatment is also required to be administered by prescribing iron and calcium tablets. This is necessitated to support the high dosage of the medicine and to reduce the impact of the side effect.
DISADVANTAGES OF PRIOR ART
As mentioned above the allopathic form of treatment is the only known and accepted solution practiced all over world for treating excessive uterine hemorrhage. Though there are various types of medications available, which can be administered by medical practitioners to the patients as, mentioned above but they are not free from side effects. The side effects resulting due to administration of allopathic drug can be classified into minor side effects such as bloating, breast tenderness, weight gain, headache, moodiness and irregular vaginal bleeding and major side effects such as causing asthma, heart failure, epilepsy, and migraine headache.
Alongwith the side effects the other disadvantages associated with allopathic form of treatment are:
1. The recovery period for the patient varies from 2-6 months, which is fairly a long period, and the patient is required to take the prescribed drugs continuously for such long periods.
2. There are. many cases where, the problem cannot be cured by such medicines necessitating in hysterectomy where removal of uterus becomes mandatory.
3. The medicines are costly apart from above disadvantages.
4. The medicines are to be given along with some supportive treatment in form of iron and calcium tablets, which again proves to be costly.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION:
In order to understand this invention a brief of the problem needs to be understood. In females during menstrual cycle bleeding occurs which is stopped by releasing organic compounds known as "progesterone" by the body. The natural progesterone is made by the ovaries prior to menopause and by the adrenal glands and the fat cells after menopause and is the precursor for natural estrogen. It is the single most important hormone (also known as master hormone) in the female body and is critically important for the health of virtually every cell and organ of the body. Excessive uterine hemorrhage is a condition where excessive bleeding occurs and it is presently cured by administering various kinds of allopathic medicines as mentioned in prior art.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCESS
The invention contemplated in this specification provides for the effective and economical treatment of excessive uterine hemorrhage using coconut flower extract in a very short period and most importantly without any side effect.
The process involves a unique method of preparation of coconut flower extract. The preparation of extract is initiated by taking fresh coconut flowers. These flowers are then chopped finely into very small pieces. The chopped flower is then put into a mud pot. Water is added to the chopped flower to the extent that flower is fully immersed in water. A precaution is to be taken as to the measure of water. It should be 75% more than the content of the chopped flower. The water along with the chopped flower is boiled and extract is obtained.
The coconut flower extract was found to be containing the following:
1. Steriods a) Progesterone b) Hydroxy progesterone caproate
2. Cations a) Sodium b) Ammonium c) Magnesium d) Calcium e) Iron f) Zinc
3. Anions a) Chloride b) Phosphate c) Sulphate
4. Acetate a) Laurie Acid-Anti Microbila b) Capric Acid - Anti Microbila c) Vitamin B6
It can be observed from above analysis that the coconut flower extract contains almost all the ingredients, which are administered in the allopathic medicines to cure excessive uterine hemorrhage. Most importantly it does not require any supplemental treatment as in allopathy and its single dose contains all the compounds, which are required to treat excessive uterine hemorrhage. It may be observed from the composition above that it contains inter alia sodium and potassium, which prevents water retention in the body, calcium which helps in blood clotting and vitamins which provides strength and resistance to the body.
Different tests were conducted to confirm the findings of the composition. After the extract was obtained it was examined microscopically. The solid component of the sample were filtered out using Whatman-42 filter paper and microscopically examined. However no remarkable observation was made.
Then HPLC was done to estimate the cations, anions, acetate and steriods. Several standard steroids were injected to observe if they match with the contents of the sample extract. Of the several peaks observed, of the sample extract, one closely matched with the progesterone derivative-Hydroxy
Progesterone Caproate. Finally Liquid Cromatographic Mass (LCMS) analysis was done and presence of actual compound i.e progesterone was confirmed.
METHOD OF ADMINISTERING THE MEDICINE:
The medicine containing the extract is to be administered to the patient in a liquid form. One ounce of the extract is to be taken twice a day (i.e morning and evening) by the patient on empty stomach. One of the precautions which needs to be taken while administering the extract is that it should be administered preferably on pure vegetarian diet. In case excess dose is taken, it might cause slight giddiness which may be counteracted by VT. cup of milk which acts as buffer.
ADVANTAGES OF USING COCONUT FLOWER EXTRACT:
The method of treating excessive uterine hemorrhage using coconut flower extract has many advantages as compared with the allopathic form of medicine. The most important being that it does not have any side effect which a major achievement. Further the treatment period is considerably reduced from 2-6 months (in the allopathic form of medicine) to just 5-7 days using coconut flower extract. The supportive treatment of giving calcium and iron tablets which is necessitated in allopathic form of treatment is not required in this as all the ingredient are already present in the extracts. Further since the results have shown that the patient can be cured fully within 5-7 days, hysterectomy is not required and hence results in saving money and time of patients apart from negating the risks of operation.
