The present invention relates to a door for a household appliance, in particular for a
Standing unit.



   Conventionally, in the case of such household appliances, in particular in the case of refrigeration appliances, the outer surface of the door is a large, non-functional white surface, which is at best used by some users to attach memos to it.



   The object of the present invention is to provide a door for a household appliance which is suitable for providing a user with an additional benefit beyond the actual function of the household appliance and for saving space in the kitchen.



   According to the invention, the object is achieved in that a receiving frame for additional devices and / or design elements is provided on the door.



  In order to keep a protrusion of such additional devices low beyond the outer surface of the door, the receiving frame is preferably sunk into the outer surface.



  In the simplest case, a cover can serve as a design element, which covers the entire receiving frame or parts of the receiving frame that are not occupied by an additional device and thus gives the door an aesthetically satisfactory appearance, even if the receiving frame is not or not completely used for additional devices is.



  At least part of the frame can be used to insert a display device there, which is set up to display operating parameters of the household appliance.



  Conventional refrigeration devices often have such a display device on a panel fixed above the door.    The additional devices installed in the frame can be of the most varied types, electrically operated or without external energy supply. The use of the

   With such an additional device it can be, for. B. a single measuring device for a climatic variable such as temperature, air pressure, air humidity or a combination of such devices, also referred to as a weather station.



   A particularly practical additional device is a scale. Such a scale can be realized in a particularly space-saving manner with a swiveling weighing pan which is pivoted against the frame in a non-use position, so that it does not protrude appreciably beyond the door of the household appliance.



  Such a balance, like the climate measuring devices already mentioned, can work mechanically or electrically. In the case of an electrically operated balance, it is preferred that an on-off switch of the balance be coupled to the weighing pan in such a way that the balance is switched on by swiveling the weighing pan into a position of use and switched off by pivoting the weighing pan into the non-use position.



  Another sensible option is to place entertainment electronics devices such as a radio, a CD player or even a television set in the frame.

  Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the upper portion of a door for a refrigerator. The door is constructed in a manner known per se from a lacquered sheet metal plate, which forms a front side 1 and side flanks 2 of the door, a rear wall made of plastic, which is tightly connected to tabs of the sheet metal plate bent inwards from the flanks 2, and upper and lower end elements 3, also made of plastic, which, together with the sheet metal plate and the rear wall, delimits an interior of the door filled with insulating foam material. On the front 1 of the door, a receiving frame 4, here in the form of a rectangular recess in the front, is formed. The receiving frame 4 can, for.

  Additional devices that are to be installed in the mounting frame 4 instead of the decorative panel 8 can be preassembled in the mounting frame 4 by the manufacturer of the refrigeration device during manufacture of the refrigeration device, or they can be sold as separate accessories that can be retrofitted by the user.



  As a first example of such an additional device, FIG. 3 shows a television set 11 with a flat screen mounted in the receiving frame, e.g. B. in LCD technology. When the weighing pan 13 is folded back into the non-use position, the scale 12 switches off again and the display screen 10 again shows the operating parameters of the refrigeration device.



  Other devices that can be mounted in the receiving frame 4 are e.g. B. A radio 15 as shown in Fig. 6, a CD player 16 as shown in Fig. 7, a cassette player or the like. A numerical or alphanumeric display screen 17, which is often present in such devices, in order to indicate a tuned frequency or a station on the radio or to show the numbers of a track being played on a CD to the CD player, when these devices are not used, are used to display the operating parameters of the refrigerator instead of the display screen 10 from FIG. 2, which it replaces.
