So that the actuating piston 2 does not rotate when the threaded bolt 41 is screwed in due to frictional engagement, a second, likewise hexagonal, tool can be attached to the shaft end 2a in a tool holder 46.
- Fig. 1 the gas exchange valve 1 is shown in an open position in which both chambers 22, 25 are pressurized via the pressure medium lines. Due to the smaller axial piston area of the actuating piston 2 on the first chamber 22, the actuating piston 2 is axially adjusted toward the combustion chamber. To close the gas exchange valve 1, the second chamber 25 is relieved of pressure, the first chamber 22 always remains pressurized. Due to the excess pressure present in the first chamber 22, the actuating piston 2 is then displaced upwards in the direction of the second chamber 25.
- the gas exchange valve 1 is inserted into the valve stem guide of the cylinder head (not shown) and then the wedge pieces 6, 7 are placed on the stem end 5a. In this case, the end 41a of the threaded bolt 41 is also fixed between the wedge pieces 6, 7.
