DESCRIPTION PROCEDURE FOR THE KILLING OF INSECTS THROUGH SQUIRTS OF ETHYL ALCOHOL, AND ETHYL ALCOHOL USED FOR THIS ATM.
TECHNICAL FIELD
This invention relates to a procedure for the killing of insects through squirts of ethyl alcohol and also about ethyl alcohol used for this aim. BACKGROUND ART As is well known, there are many species of insects, generally all of them are disgusting, harmful, annoying or even dangerous for health. In order to solve the problem created by the presence of these insects, nowadays are used different kinds of insecticides, which are composed of toxic substances. Therefore, there is the risk of an intoxication using these insecticides. Generally insecticides are used in the form of gas or of liquid atomized through the action of spray cans with propellant gas at high pressure.
Actually these insecticides kill the insects saturating the domestic environment with toxic gases. In fact all the containers of these products warn of their dangerousness and advice to ventilate the rooms where the product has been used before getting inside. The truth is that the warning labels on the insecticides are really tiny and illegible, placed in a certain way so the customer can not read them and will not get alarmed to the point of not buying the product anymore. The standard procedure of cramming the rooms with toxic gases is only suitable in the bedroom, however it is not advisable in rooms where food is stored or in rooms where people stay most of the time. The most annoying insects are indeed
flies and mosquitoes, which are present in summer time when windows are wide open in order to ventilate and cool up the house.
Trying to reduce the customers fears, the insecticides manufacturers use the "African Pyrethrum" and write on the warning label that this is a natural product, obviously without mention' that there are many others natural substances that are toxic and poisonous. In fact, is quite difficult to establish what could be the effects on human health after using the insecticides for a long term, considering that diseases have uncertain origin; therefore it is normal to distrust these natural insecticides, for instance, citronella and pyrethrum. Another inconvenient of the usual insecticides is that most of them do not have a general effectiveness for all kinds of insects. As a matter of fact, a specific insecticide for ants or cockroaches is not effective for mosquitoes. Moreover, in nature there are dangerous insects such as hornets, wasps, scorpions and spiders which frighten people, who are unable to get close and kill them. There are also big insects, like bedbugs, which are disgusting to squash and even hard to reach with the usual insecticides. An object of the present invention is to define a procedure that permits the debilitation and subsequent extermination of the insect even from a distance of several meters. Another object of the present invention is to define a procedure, as heretofore, that permits to hit the insect in a selective way taking aim of it. A further object is to define a procedure, aforementioned, that permits to wrap the insect in an insecticide cloud and obstructs anyway of escape. Another object of the present invention is to define a procedure able to kill any kind of flying, creeping, climbing or walking insects. A further object is to define a procedure that allows the use of only a strictly necessary amount of
insecticide in order to reduce the costs. Another object of the present invention is to define an insecticide able to carry out the procedure, as heretofore, and not being dangerous for health. Another object is to define an insecticide that does not stain clothes, walls or curtains etc., and that can be used everywhere without any problem. A further object of the present invention is to define an insecticide that can be used outdoors and indoors. Another object is to define an insecticide that can be sprayed on food without being toxic. DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION These and further objects will be seen to be attained on reading the following detailed description illustrating an insect killing procedure having the characteristic of acting in a long distance with a squirt, spout or spray of pure ethyl alcohol through the usual equipments, or of ethyl alcohol in an alcoholic content and in a chemical composition similar as the one used in the alimentary field ( 95° or 95% volume), like the one used for the preparation of liquor or for the conservation of food.
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Ethyl alcohol (Ethanol) is a natural product whose chemical formula is
It is the only alcohol tolerated by the human organism since this one has enzymes that quickly destroy the alcohol molecular structure. However, it is only tolerated in little quantities, which are stimulating and inebriating, whereas large quantities of ethyl alcohol are lethal. In order to debilitate and kill insects briefly, whose corporeal volume is extremely reduced, is enough just one simple squirt of ethyl alcohol, as it can be demonstrated.
Once debilitated or immobilised the insects can be flooded with an extra amount of alcohol until it dies or it can be also burned.
Moreover, ethyl alcohol is a disinfectant and therefore prevents the pathogenic agents from spreading out from the insect, for instance the malaria plasmodium transmitted by Anopheles mosquitoes, tsetse fly tripanosum etc..
The insect can be beaten down and then soaked of ethyl alcohol with an extra spray, all this without environmental pollution and without damaging human health, objects and pets. In fact, ethyl alcohol evaporates easily and quickly so, after it had been used as an insecticide and disinfectant, it vanishes without leaving any trace or odour. As is well known, ethyl alcohol is inflammable and disinfects the insect through the process of combustion.
Ethyl alcohol can be squirted on insects using the ordinary gardening sprinkler sprays like the ones below described. The first type, based on a direct pumping system, requires the action of a hand on a lever producing high pressure, as it happens with guns triggers. In this kind of sprinkler the pressure on a plunger permits the squirt and simultaneously loads a spring. When it is released permits the aspiration of the liquid stored in the tank; for instance sprinklers used in the cosmetics or perfumery work the same way. The second type of sprinkler, based on an indirect pumping system, requires the action of air under pressure previously created inside of an hermetic sealed tank. This second one is more expensive and heavier than the first one but, on the other hand, the second type is immediately available at the first squirt. On the contrary, in the first type of sprinkler are necessary several pumpings to permit the aspiration of the liquid from the tank.
The third type requires the use of a pressurized spray can which ejects the liquid by pressing a button, as the spray cans used for cosmetics and spray paint. This third type of sprinkler is expensive but, as it is small, can be easily carried. Depending on the type of the chosen sprinkler, the squirt can reach large or short distances and can be suitable according to the targeted insect, having also different diffusion. All these kinds of sprinklers can be manufactured with different materials; however, knowing that ethyl alcohol is a chemical solvent, is necessary that the plastic and rubber (gaskets) material destined to be in contact with it, must be resistant according with the known art.
