Abstract

An apparatus for treating a contaminated fluid, said apparatus comprising a supply apparatus for supplying an extracting fluid at, near or above a critical point fluid, an extractor vessel in which contaminated fluid is subjected to said extracting fluid, the apparatus further comprising monitoring means, control means and a processing unit for processing information obtained from said monitoring means or for controlling said control means characterised in that said apparatus further comprises cooling means for said monitoring means or said control means or said processing unit, wherein said cooling for said cooling means is obtained from extracting fluid.
