DOOR PROVIDED WITH A HOLLOW SPACE TO CONTAIN
OBJECTS
The present invention relates to a door provided with a hollow space to contain objects.
More specifically, the invention relates to a device of the above kind, realised in such a way to allow placing different objects within a space suitably created into the door body.
This innovation aims to solve the problem of the lack of space within houses, particularly in very small rooms, such as kitchen and bathroom, but it is also suitable to be used in bigger rooms.
The solution according to the invention is particularly advantageous mainly because it allows obtaining spaces for placing objects exploiting areas otherwise not usable. These and other problems are solved according to the present invention suggesting a door modified in such a way to create within the same a interspace, accessible from outside, the inner space of said interspace being possibly provided with shelves and/or hooks and/or rods. It is therefore specific object of the present invention a swing, sliding, disappearance, or book-like door, comprising a frame, made up of at least two vertical axis and at least two horizontal transverse elements, defining at least an inner empty space, the thickness of which is substantially equal to the thickness of the frame and is frontally and at the rear closed by covering and/or for access to the inner space means.
Preferably, according to the invention, said frame of said swing, sliding, disappearance, door is comprised of two vertical axis and two horizontal transverse elements, defining an empty space, while said frame of said book-like door is comprised of four vertical axis and four horizontal transverse elements, defining two inner empty spaces.
According to the invention, said covering and inner space access means include at least a wing, preferably two wings, on at least two faces of the door, said at least one wing being realised with a swing, sliding, bellows, book-like or winding opening and possibly with a covering panel on the further face.
Still according to the invention, object positioning means are provided within the inner space, said means preferably comprising at least a horizontal plane and/or at least a horizontal rod and/or at least a hook. Preferably, according to the present invention, the door opening handle, in correspondence of said at least one face of the door on which said inner space access means are provided, is vertically placed not to interfere with the opening of said access means or, alternatively, if the built-in or knob kind. Finally, according to the invention, in case of a swing or book-like door, the same is coupled to the wall by hinges means fixed to a counterframe, covered by a case the shape of which can be tapered toward the wall to allow to joint the thickness of the door with the thickness of the wall. The present invention will be now described, for illustrative but not limitative purposes, according to its preferred embodiments, with particular reference to the figures of the enclosed drawings, wherein: figure 1 shows a perspective view of a side of the door of the present invention, according to an embodiment, figure 2 shows a perspective view of a second side of the door of figure 1 ; figure 3 is a section view of the door of figure 1 ; figure 4 shows a first perspective view of the door of figure 1 , mounted on a wall, and figure 5 shows a second perspective view of the door of figure 1 , mounted on a wall.
Making reference to the figures, it is shown a frame 1 of the door essentially comprised of two vertical axes 2, coupled each other by two horizontal transverse elements 3, in such a way to realise the whole outer perimeter of the wall.
Inner space 4, defined by the vertical axis and the horizontal transverse elements, contrary to the standard solutions, is not full, but is empty and closed on one face by two swing wings 5, and on the opposite face by a covering panel 6. In this way, the inner empty space 4 can be reached from outside and can be used to place different objects.
Particularly, within the space 4 planes 7 and horizontal rods 8 can be seen. For example, it is possible place bottles or cans on the planes, while driers and towels can be placed on the rods.
Within the space 4, also hooks (not shown) can be provided, on which bathrobe or towels can be hanged.
Making particular reference to figure 3, it is shown a section view of the swing door of figure 1. The door is fixed to the wall 9 by hinges 10, allowing to the same door to rotate about an axis passes through the hinges. Hinges 10 are not directly fixed to the wall 9, but to a counterframe 1 1 placed along the two doorposts defining the width of the door space and along the upper transverse element defining the height of the door space.
Counterframe 1 1 is covered on one side of the wall by a case 12. The case is tapered toward the wall, in such a way to joint the thickness of the door with the thickness of the wall, varying the angle of the tapering, it is possible to realise doors where the thickness of the inner space 4, and consequently that of the door, can be modified independently from the thickness of the wall 9. Thickness of the door will only depend on space and esthetical needings. Finally, figures illustrates how, while the handle 13 of the side of the door simply covered by the covering panel 6 can be of any kind, handle 14 in correspondence of the face on which the wings 5 are present must respect some technical requirements, necessary not to interfere with the opening of the wings. As alternative, handle 14 will be rotated of 90° in such a way to be vertical or it will be of the built-in or knob kind.
The present invention has been described for illustrative but not limitative purposes, according to its preferred embodiments, but it is to be understood that modifications and/or changes can be introduced by those skilled in the art without departing from the relevant scope as defined in the enclosed claims.
